Coverage Mapper в Android Market

Coverage Mapper is a crowd sourced cellular signal strength mapping application.

Coverage Mapper will record and submit cellular signal strength data to a central server, to generate accurate coverage maps for your provider.

Please check out the website (http://www.coveragemapper.com), preferably on a computer, to get a better understanding of the application before downloading it.

As you travel with the application running, it records your device's signal strength, tied to your current location. This data is all uploaded to a central server, where it is aggregated with the data from other users, and averaged into accurate coverage maps that show not just where a provider has coverage, but also how good the coverage is.

This is a beta application. Please report any issues on the forum or by email.

Since this question is frequently asked, install to SD is not an option, because Coverage Mapper runs as a background service, which cannot be moved to the SD card.

Show map picks wrong county and carrier When I click to show the map it picks the first county in the list (Afganistan) by default. I think it should show my current carrier and country instead.

Pretty Good Use this app when you are driving around in your car, bus or train. The app crashes when you look at the map. The bad thing is that it takes hours to update the map. Another bad thing is that you need to leave the screan on so it can record your posiotion.

Good job! Does a great job. The map gets updated in a matter of a dozen hours, which is quite fast compared to other similar services. Once you start the logging, don't touch the app too much or it might crash.

Works fine on Sprint E4GT Works very well on Sprint. No 4G where I am, if that is worth mentioning, but seems accurate for signal in general, as designed. Shows black where I know that I lost my signal.

Nice update for ICS. Used to work better. Data logged and uploaded doesn't show up on the map 80% of the time. GPS takes a long time to lock on. Overall mapping of Ontario is quite good for WIND.

Very basic Wish there would be OSM support because Google Maps is terrible slow and often very old. Also I miss basic stats and a web option to see what data I uploaded (and where is the export?). The "don't turn off device" is TERRIBLE and very battery draining, but seems there's nothing the developer can do. 2.5 of 5.

Does a good job and is light on the battery This app does a good job of collecting data. It doesn't take up a lot of battery which is nice. I like how detailed the maps are; you can see exactly on the map were you always drop calls.

@ David, it says right when installing it needs the device in no sleep mode, that's why it has a black screen button to save battery. App works well.

The software does exactly what it is supposed to do. Understandably the program needs some spit and polish, but it's not out of beta yet.
