Coverage Mapper (v. 0.8.6) Разработано Scott Kennedy |
Coverage Mapper is a crowd sourced cellular signal strength mapping application.
Coverage Mapper will record and submit cellular signal strength data to a central server, to generate accurate coverage maps for your provider.
Please check out the website (http://www.coveragemapper.com), preferably on a computer, to get a better understanding of the application before downloading it.
As you travel with the application running, it records your device's signal strength, tied to your current location. This data is all uploaded to a central server, where it is aggregated with the data from other users, and averaged into accurate coverage maps that show not just where a provider has coverage, but also how good the coverage is.
This is a beta application. Please report any issues on the forum or by email.
Since this question is frequently asked, install to SD is not an option, because Coverage Mapper runs as a background service, which cannot be moved to the SD card.

[2012-11-15] Mike: Show map picks wrong county and carrier When I click to show the map it picks the first county in the list (Afganistan) by default. I think it should show my current carrier and country instead. |
[2012-11-14] Kevin: Still great. Just wish it was open source. |
[2012-11-14] Thomas: 1337 1337 |
[2012-11-12] Rafael: Pretty Good Use this app when you are driving around in your car, bus or train. The app crashes when you look at the map. The bad thing is that it takes hours to update the map. Another bad thing is that you need to leave the screan on so it can record your posiotion. |
[2012-11-10] Joseph: Awesome I'm really impressed with this app expect now I hate to see how much my Sprint coverage sucks. Even though they have towers near me so Sprint please hurry and finish our Network Vision which my area is being upgrade as I write this review. |
[2012-10-25] Deci: Help find coverage Good concept, helps me plan. It's nice to be able to help out other early adopters of nascent networks in Canada. |
[2012-10-01] ballroot: Lots of fcs Great idea and nice ui but force closes 50% of the time on Galaxy S2 |
[2012-09-29] bunder: Dunno I show up on the map okay, but the logger can't determine my location. |
[2012-09-05] Cpt Nautilus: Good job! Does a great job. The map gets updated in a matter of a dozen hours, which is quite fast compared to other similar services. Once you start the logging, don't touch the app too much or it might crash. |
[2012-09-03] OmarF82: Meh Does nothing at all |
[2012-08-10] Dave H: Awesome App!!!! Ditto! |
[2012-07-27] Jordan: Works great Works great and its an awesome feeling to go to a rural area and record data that you actually see later online :) only had a couple instances where it didn't properly acquire my GPS signal but very good overall |
[2012-07-14] Matt: Great Great app. Using it to map wind's network. |
[2012-07-08] Masmona: very good very good performance |
[2012-06-30] Nicolas Gramlich: OMG awesome! |
[2012-05-29] Alex: Very useful |
[2012-05-23] Mikenstein: Works fine on Sprint E4GT Works very well on Sprint. No 4G where I am, if that is worth mentioning, but seems accurate for signal in general, as designed. Shows black where I know that I lost my signal. |
[2012-05-17] amicic: Excellent for Canada The app itself isn't perfect, but provides the best cell coverage maps for Canada out of 3-4 that I tried. |
[2012-05-04] Geoff: No Verizon 4G Does not report Verizon 4G anymore on my Thunderbolt. |
[2012-04-20] Benjamin: Used to work Had old coverage mapper on an older android, worked fine. New version crashes every 10-20 mins. |
[2012-04-09] Steve: great for WIND This app and website are great, especially on limited-service networks like WIND Mobile in Canada. |
[2012-04-04] Nick: Great app! Works well on HTC Sensation (T-Mobile). You should add an upload meter so we can know when the data is uploaded. |
[2012-03-23] Putera: Coverage mapper All good |
[2012-03-22] Scotty: Angelo, the sole purpose of the app is to allow you to log data for the map. Jake, you should update your phone to 2.1 |
[2012-03-18] C: Not working Says GPS signal isn't accurate enough even though i've locked on to 6 satellites. Atrix with gingerbread. Fail. |
[2012-03-18] Kurt: Nice update for ICS. Used to work better. Data logged and uploaded doesn't show up on the map 80% of the time. GPS takes a long time to lock on. Overall mapping of Ontario is quite good for WIND. |
[2012-03-18] Rob: Good app Interesting to map all the blackspots in you local area, and see which networks are better! |
[2012-03-16] LC: Lc I love it |
[2012-02-11] piannetta: Doesn't work Keeps giving errors from network, pity, it used to work. Support unhelpful |

[2011-12-21] Kim: Kinda works but not as good. As others yet. |
[2011-12-02] Steve: Kept bitching about not being to find my GPS location. Funny how all other apps can do it |
[2011-11-20] Graham: Excellent app The only request I can make is that the view map it's overplayed on the map app instead of in the browser. It would improve navigation. |
[2011-10-17] Bex: Looked like what I wanted but doesn't work with the screen off. & I don't keep gps on, I like my battery to last all day. |
[2011-10-12] Fritz: Very basic Wish there would be OSM support because Google Maps is terrible slow and often very old. Also I miss basic stats and a web option to see what data I uploaded (and where is the export?). The "don't turn off device" is TERRIBLE and very battery draining, but seems there's nothing the developer can do. 2.5 of 5. |
[2011-08-04] Tom: Does a good job and is light on the battery This app does a good job of collecting data. It doesn't take up a lot of battery which is nice. I like how detailed the maps are; you can see exactly on the map were you always drop calls. |
[2011-07-18] Chong McBong: Nice idea, too many limitations. Got to have screen constantly on, and Must use gps too... |
[2011-07-12] Daniel: @ David, it says right when installing it needs the device in no sleep mode, that's why it has a black screen button to save battery. App works well. |
[2011-07-06] David: Requires screen to be on. |
[2011-05-25] David: Needs install to sd card option. |
[2011-05-21] Happy Guy: Works well on N1, not as polished as Sensorly but does a better job vs opensignalmaps or openbmap. Just wish more ppl used it! |
[2011-05-20] Marco: Perfect. Best and fastest coverage mapper. |
[2011-05-18] None: This is the best coverage mapper. |
[2011-04-17] savbers: Works great and helps me get a lock on GPS faster on my vibrant. Thanks! |
[2011-03-31] AntonioL: Good idea but, it starts itself when I have clicked stop logging and eats up my battery. I have to kill it alot. Uninstalled untill needed for now. |
[2011-03-20] MO: Sometimes doesn't activate GPS. Sometimes data in new areas is not added to coverage map. Otherwise, very useful! |
[2011-03-09] jeffrey: i have att and with the galaxy s it bad in areas with 2g so always have 1 bar. this app not picking up location. |
[2011-03-03] Troy: Does what it says. Moto spice |
[2011-02-11] luis: Does exactly as advertised need some work yet good to get on the ground floor this one might go somewhere |
[2011-02-05] Rob: Fantastic app. Simple and effective for its intended purpose. |
[2011-01-31] Ronald: Extremely useful app! Been filling in (painting) my neighbourhood. I can see my house! Thanks Scott. Remember - best map viewing on PC. |
[2011-01-28] Tomas: Those who rate this app bad are idiots that don't know how to read. This app works with no issues to upload data to the server. Nexus one |

[2011-01-02] Philippe: Like 'sensorly' app better : sprint 4g, anonymous reporting, native maps and more options. And lots lots more coverage... see verizon. |

[2010-11-14] Angelo: Does NOT work. Map view shows no data for bell network. I'm tired of crap Android apps that are a waste of my time to beta test. |
[2010-11-14] Jake: Wouldn't open. Unsupported provider. Sprint, Samsung Moment. |
[2010-11-12] scoob8000: does what it says. very clean lightweight app. just realize your best viewing the maps on your pc.. |
[2010-11-08] Kevin: works as described. ui needs some work. |
[2010-09-12] Liz: Love this app! 'New' networks should pay attention & fill the holes. Works very well on G1/Dream. Excellent in the accuracy department. Keep it up! |
[2010-09-08] Raf: It doesn't work... |
[2010-08-31] Ren: Great app! App2sd please. Nexus 1. |
[2010-08-23] Scott: Peter, load the map on your computer for that feature, and more. Check the website's Usage page for your other questions. |
[2010-08-22] moffa: Works great but makes the bottom of my nexus1 really hot. |
[2010-08-22] Eric: The software does exactly what it is supposed to do. Understandably the program needs some spit and polish, but it's not out of beta yet. |
[2010-08-22] Peter: Good but needs to show network type eg 3G, gprs. The service should shut down when datalogging is off and app2sd please. |
[2010-08-19] Phil: Keeps saying screen is off.... x10a |
