Choice Dialer Plus (free) (v. 1.8.0) Разработано Resounding LLC |
Choice Dialer Plus Free is a hands-free Voice Dialer, with voice confirmation and added commands and options. It confirms commands interactively by voice, making it much safer for driving.
it does not need a data connection (except for dictating texts and emails) and has many configurable options.
"Call Jim Harris at mobile"
"next song"
"shuffle play music"
"Find contact for Ed Bly"
"Send a text to Jay Snow"
"Set my Facebook status" (you can dictate the text!)
This free version also include a short demo period of additional features in the paid version of Choice Dialer Plus: music and calendar commands and dictation for emails and texts.
Most phones running Android 2.2 or later will deliver hands-free Bluetooth headset support. If Android's Voice Dialer works with your headset, so will this app, but it will do more.
Speech recognition in US English only. I'm sorry but I do not have access to other languages. Other English accents will work to a lesser degree.
TIPS:
1. When confirming a command, say "That is correct" rather than "Yes", as the shorter word is often lost in the noise.
2. For best recognition, enter the full names for your contacts, even "Mom" and "Dad".
3. Press "Menu" as the app listens for Help and Settings panels. Not all features are enabled by default.
4. Speak confidently and naturally. Speaking-word-by-word-often-hurts-more-than-it-helps.
BLUETOOTH
1. You need Android 2.2 or later for hands-free dialing over Bluetooth
2. Some phone users report that they need to remove their phone's battery for 5 full minutes before the Bluetooth Voice Dialing works.

[2012-06-02] Pantso: Needed App I upgraded to ICS only to find this is incompatible...I reverted back to gingerbread. This is a must have app and I can only hope a workaround of the ICS Bluetooth API can be discovered. |
[2012-05-29] oseloth: Only for english Speaking people. Can't recognize all of my contacts. Does not have option to record word or name for dial. |
[2012-05-26] Dan: Needs ICS support :-( This little app is fantastic! Unfortunately I updated to ICS and now it's 'incompatible' :-( I look forward to using it again when its updated for ICS!!! |
[2012-05-19] Jeff: Dials the wrong contacts as you shout NO. Bad in a noisy car which is what I want it for. At this rate I'll end up going back to nokia |
[2012-05-17] Jesse: Doesn't work for me. Tried a few times and it kept giving me wrong response. |
[2012-05-06] Tim: Excellent Better than any I've used. |
[2012-05-01] Terry: Complete garbage Force closes, cannot recognize any voice commands, do glad I did not buy! Droid X |
[2012-04-28] Duryl: Works when screen is locked I am using on my samsung infuse. It works even when the screen is locked. Jawbone headset improves accuracy |
[2012-04-25] Donk: Worked great until ICS I upgraded my firmware to ICS and now this app wont work. This was the only one I could get to work through my bluetooth headset. Vlingo and Eva Intern both want to use the speaker phone for prompts and commands which is next to useless while driving. Fix it to work with ICS and I would definitely buy the paid version. |
[2012-04-23] David: Stinks |
[2012-04-21] Jim: Works on Samsung Skyrocket According to Samsung the Galaxy S2 Skyrocket does not support Bluetooth Hands Free dialing. And the Android Dial App does not work over Bluetooth. This does work - but 1) remove the battery for 5 min after installing; 2) then pair your headset. I'm using a Jawbone ERA, but just load the Voice Control app to the Jawbone; and don't load the Jawbone app to the phone. Also, the first time you launch it, it reads your contact file, make sure you give that a minute to complete. So far this is the only app I've found that does provide me with Hands-free dialing - I've tried 4 others that claim to. Also, I needed to load a profile program that keeps the phone from going to sleep - if it does sleep this program won't always wake it (but I think that's more of an Android problem). I'm using Gingerbread Ver 2.5.6. |
[2012-04-19] James: Latest update doesn't work... ....with my phone. Uninstalled went back to preivous version. HTC Thunderbolt Liquid Smooth Rom 3.2 Android 2.3.7. |
[2012-04-18] Andrew: HTC Sensation (XE) - Read Here but AVOID Unfortunately in real-life use, this doesn't work. Recognition is very poor and there is an annoying bug which caused the whole affair to lock up. No support from developer either - email completely ignored. Now trying Cyberon - stay tuned ... Unfortunately, AVOID Original Thoughts: Initial Impressions (just Installed) On initial install, the hands-free aspect simply didn't work. However the bizarre trick of taking the battery out for (insert your chosen period here) fixed everything ! I didn't even have to re-pair the device. My Toyota which had previously stated that "voice function not supported" simply worked and handed control seamlessly to the phone. Please spread the word on this as I didn't know and thought that my phone didn't support the capability, let alone the dialler. HTC, why you don't supply a voice dialler on your phones is incomprehensible to me - basic Nokias do this ! So the the dialler itself, my experiences so far have been mixed. Yes, it does do what you want it to do, most importantly *completely* hands free which is vital here in the UK where using a mobile while driving is illegal, as well as stupid. |
[2012-04-18] Me: Works prefect for me I would buy the paided version but the free one has all the features I need |
[2012-04-15] Jason: Samsung infuse Doesn't play music when I say play music. Or it doesn't do a few other commands only does some. Why! |
[2012-04-09] PHeadland: Did not recognize anything I said Nice idea - I'd love a dialer that doesn't need to chew up data, but this one simply did not recognize anything I said. |
[2012-04-07] Robin: Try slow try fast It did not work for me... Epic 4G sprint |
[2012-04-05] Tamer: Great ! Nearly the only voice commands applications that can find an Arabic name written in English !!! Never thought that is as difficult as it turned out to be. The last stat would is for the ability to pronounce any saved name, so it can be used in voice commands later on. |
[2012-04-01] Joe: Awesome Very happy to find a voice dialer that does not need data. Love it. Had to restart for Bluetooth to work it's awesome! |
[2012-03-27] Gilles: Very please with it First I could not use the button on my bluetooth, but after reading the help, I power my phone off and it solved the problem. It recognizes my contact name and dial by number well. You can adjust the speach speed. The only problem I have is that it's missing the menu button on my downloaded version, but I can say "help" or "settings" |
[2012-03-27] Ashraf: Great It is really great, thank you very much. Ashraf Sello - Cairo, Egypt. |

[2012-03-15] Florin: Nothing works Did not work through bluetooth, nor through the microphone. Did not recognize any contact, but gave me wrong choices. Uninstalled. |

[2012-03-05] Brian: No good Doesn't work most of the time. |
[2012-02-27] the 3/5/2012 : Great App Works great once you get the hang of it |
[2012-02-20] vikaram: Great joke. Doesn't work.. |
[2012-02-18] Deric: Nice speecg recognition needs little update n need to slow down the lady who speaks so freaking fast |
[2012-02-13] gary: Demo mode? The second you install it says the demo mode has now expired. Didn't even get to try it. waste of time. |
[2012-02-11] Dmitry P: Horrible speech recognition If this program calls the right person it's by complete luck. I have 20 people in my address book and 20/20 times it calls the wrong person. In addition to that, this program also controls music and w/e. Why? When it can't even do what its supposed to. |
[2012-02-11] Asgher: Works better than vlingo This app does a better job at recognizing my voice commands over bluetooth than vlingo |
[2012-02-05] Joel: Garbage Sorry but fc on my HTC tb and I had to repeat myself several times. Uninstall now. |
[2012-02-02] Michael: I really like it I drive for a living. this was the answer to ny prayer. It has worked well for me so far I just need to learn the commands. |
[2012-02-01] Roger: Brilliant Been using quite heavily for a few days, no problems. In fact I now find this much better than Vlingo which has failed miserably since the last few upgrades. This recognises my voice 95% of the time. |
[2012-01-28] Magz: Wow 5* if it support built in music player on my xperia ray |
[2012-01-27] James: Not happy Does not recognize mic on my droid x. |

[2012-01-05] Kenneth: Settings Make the Difference! I installed this program and I thought it was terrible; then I actually looked at some of the settings, and it actually |
[2012-01-05] Nicole: Quite happy This was better than I anticipated. Like the confirmation feature. Still trying to get it to connect to my music. No problem anywhere else! Great job! |
[2012-01-01] Bogart's: Re-rating The dev fixed the force closing problem very quickly. I have re-rated this program as I said I would. |
[2011-12-31] Ira: Better than "stock." Allows you to set the "how confident" level to 100%, I can assure that I always get a confirmation before a call is placed. Seem this should be automatic, but my new Evo doesn't do that, the feature phone it replaced didn't do that either. Only the old dumb phone was smart enough to make sure it was going to dial who I wanted. Some of the other commands don't seem to work, maybe it's my headset, but now I don't worry about calling a random person on my contact list when I'm trying to call home. EDIT: The recent "update" resulted in constant force closing. I was quite bummed, but a feedback message resulted in an overnight response that the bug was fixed in a new update available right then. I like the responsiveness of the folks at Resounding and recommend this app and company. |
[2011-12-29] daniel: :) Best that's what I think |
[2011-12-07] Jamie: Job done Give it a try, it completely eliminated the stupid bluetooth voice recognition bug that has plagued the Dell Streak. Proper hands free! |
[2011-11-12] d: Skip this one Bad |
[2011-10-31] ristik: Does not get a word right. |
[2011-10-28] muhammed: Thankyou |
[2011-09-30] CBailey: Weird bugs, not ready for prime time, not as good as the other free options. |
[2011-09-19] Jules: This app works ten times better than the native voice app on my Charge. Only a few minor bugs, but still mostly useable |
[2011-09-15] Mi: App works but.... sometimes it doesn't hear me, or it wants to dial the wrong number. I downloaded a different app that shows your results as well as repeating it. |
[2011-09-14] PRITHVIRAJ: A very good app.i like it |
[2011-09-13] Stefan: Swissmountain If you use "starred/favorite contacts only" it works quite good. Don't expect any voice app to recognize what you say out of 100+ contacts... |
[2011-09-09] Ryan: Slight excess usage of my battery's juice, 7% in 10 hours of idle/dormant usage. Also, it doesn't understand my "command" & prompts me to "try again". |
[2011-09-09] Kevyn: Awesome. Works even better with bluetooth.for those complainers out there, if you follow the tips it gives you, maybe it would work. Evo 4g |
[2011-09-07] lesley: Cannot get it to recognise commands. Uninstalled. |
[2011-08-17] Ishut43: Great Would like to lose the confirmation feature though. |
[2011-08-16] aengel: sux! vlingo's voice recog iz a thousand better n accurate... |
[2011-08-13] Lou: Great, especially with the addition of SVOX Grace voice. Wait a second or two before speaking commands. Definetly buying the full version. |
[2011-08-06] D.: Terrible. Just as bad as the android default voice dialer. |
[2011-08-05] Denver and Dita: gives me hands free bluetooth dialing on my samsung infuse! |
[2011-07-31] Anonymous: Not very accurate If you combined this programs functionality for voice dial with voice confirmation with the accuracy of VLINGO, you'd be able to sell a million copies. It has the voice confirmation without having to look at the screen but without the refinement of voice command. If I say call John Doe at mobile and it thinks I said call John Doe at home it doesn't say can't find home number would you like to try mobile or work, it just gives up. It seems slow and lacks accuracy but it has the verbal confirmation. |
[2011-07-26] Michael: Great app, only drawback is that command confirmation is a pain. Definitely a recommended app for anyone who drives. |
[2011-07-24] logiseo: Very good. Can call in the car via bluetooth or while walking with phone in pocket. No perfect but very good! Force closes occasionally |
[2011-07-21] jc: Rarely recognizes who I'm trying to call. |
[2011-07-21] Matt: This app is exactly as advertised. As close to the awesome Blackberry Voice interface that I have seen yet Free or Nay. Great app! |
[2011-07-21] Jason : Doesn't like Australian English. It now actually works, connects properly with my phone & Bluetooth, activates when screen lock on. Legend/w froyo. |
[2011-07-18] Xavier: It works really well |
[2011-07-18] Anonymous: This app works simply fantastic along with the app called 'Button Shortcut' on a Samsung Epic that has Gingerbread installed. |
[2011-07-16] john: Failed to recognise call command or dialed wrong num without confirmation |
[2011-07-16] Joe: Not too good fot Evo |
[2011-07-07] Stephen: Recognition no better than std voice dialer. Audio confirmation not understandable. Uninstall. |
[2011-07-06] Jerry: "CALL VOICEMAIL" response: "ENABLING SHUFFLE MODE." ??! Very poor voice recognition. I'm sticking with Vlingo and Voice Actions. Uninstalled. |
[2011-07-02] jb: Need a zero star rating. Completely useless. Doesn't recognise anything |
[2011-06-23] Robert: This app sucks. Doesn't recognize any commands. I downloaded Clinging and it works well. Free too! |
[2011-06-21] j: Works with my ATT Infuse 4G, Plantonics 520 headset to make handsfree calls. I press the bluetooth button, give a call voice command, and it dials. |
[2011-06-15] tom: Load. Of b$&)($s don't download waste of breath |
[2011-06-09] Jeanine: This is a fantastic app! Made my lg optimus v finally work with my bt. His bow tie app allows you to call via bt evn when phone is locked. Awesome! |

[2011-06-01] warren: Very good application, recognises voice commands very useful while driving |
[2011-05-31] moguns: Sorry about the first one but app doesn't recognized my voice or my girlfriends voice. It may work for others |
[2011-05-29] Jesse Houwing: Couldn't recognize me at all. |
[2011-05-28] Joyce: We just purchased the Samsung Infuse and this app does everything it says. Bluetooth works flawless, love how you shake your phone and it comes Up!! |
[2011-05-26] Dusty: THE best dialer available.Much better than Vlingo. No probs w/recognition for me. Great support, great app! TRUE hands free. G2X...moooo lol. |
[2011-05-25] Kai: Doesn't appear to understand digits Overall work well for contacts. However, the main function that I was looking for is use it as a dialer, i.e. say "CALL" then spell out the digits of a generic phone number. I can't get that to work. Do I miss something trivial? |
[2011-05-20] Eric: Doesn't seem to understand the command YES as in yes call that number that you just confirmed with me |
[2011-05-20] Petr: Sorry, but freezes HTC desire, rooted froyo. |
