[2012-02-27] Steven: Limited flexibility Loved it to start with but in Singapore I have this rigmarole of having to sign in on some secondary service provider and the username never worked. Am un-installing. can't see point of paying.for a service that works 60% of the time, and never when I really need it. |
[2012-02-25] Jair: Ok Unstable at times but easier than logging in from the browser |
[2012-02-24] Robert: Great value A great money saving app !!! |
[2012-02-22] Sandra: Not working right This app keeps messing up, always says an errer has accured and I have to keep uninstaling and reinstaling it and when I am connected it only last a few min and I have to log on over and over again. |
[2012-02-18] Chris: Meh It has gone down from 5 stars. It has been glitch connecting for me recently. |
[2012-02-17] Oliver: Poor coverage Tried Boingo in Bangkok and Tokyo and the results are disappointing. Plus the "Whoops!" error message really annoys me after all these failed connection attempt. Suggestion: make sure that when the app claims that internet access is within reach, it actually can go online. Or give a reasonable error message and maybe a refund. |
[2012-02-16] Clark: This sucks I work at an airport without free wifi and I am stuck using boing go to connect. when it errors out, which is about once a week, there isn't an update. The only fix is to uninstall and reinstall. Then re enter password, settings etc. plus it uses memory constantly searching for free hotspot which my phone would find anyway. Sucks |
[2012-02-15] Brett: Love the Boingo network! |
[2012-02-15] sue: Good make the programs are more quality with |
[2012-02-13] brian: Crap in a bag they charge you monthly for Was forced to get this app just so I could access the "free" wifi in airports on my tablet. Never saw anywhere that it said it was going to be a subscription based app and cant find anywhere to cancel my subscription. This app is extremely slow, sets itself to priority as the wifi signal connection/detection, and has false claims about signal strength or types of access. I later discovered that my default android wifi connection works a lot better, and doesn't cost me a penny to use... Unfortunately after connecting to an access point with it, this PoS app would disconnect me, then reconnect, claiming it was what found the connection. Complete waste of money |
[2012-02-13] Susan: Spotty Connection I use boingo on the ferry and the connection is very sporadic. Sometimes the app doesnt detect the hotspot. Usually it drops me during the ferry crossing. I've used wifi on airplanes and get perfect coverage so I wonder why Boingo cant impove their service. It`s so bad that they shouldn't charge for it. |
[2012-02-07] Thomas: Not bad Works pretty well. Seems like it takes a long time to get logged into a hotspot. Also tends to lose connectivity,so at times it will go through a cycle of losing the network and re-connecting,which can be frustrating. When it works smoothly, it's great. |
[2012-02-05] Krakken: Works great in Paris! |
[2012-02-05] Armando: Won't stay connected Unless you constantly using the app. Which won't let you download and/or update apps, etc |
[2012-02-01] Havok: Great! Use it all the time. |
[2012-01-31] Jim: Great |
[2012-01-25] dstavers: Never worked properly for me. Traveled to Korea and Philappines. Would find a signal but would never connect. Had to use settings every time. |
[2012-01-24] AJ: Intrusive and poorly designed Doesn't even deserve one star. Great idea but really badly implemented - unusable in my opinion. Also takes credit for getting me online even when I did it myself. |
[2012-01-21] Nevrus: Good Sometimes disconnects but still deservs 5 stars ... |
[2012-01-19] Larry: Easy to use |
[2012-01-19] MoJo: Doesn't work very well Usually fails to connect, very slow and in Japan there are hardly any access points. Map only works when you are already online, making it completely pointless. |
[2012-01-18] Robin: Fantastic app Gets me online at any Boingo or commercial free hotshot. Highly recommended. |
[2012-01-15] David: Beware of Automated Credit Card Billing I used this product on a day pass successfully at Heathrow airport. Based on that & their claimed hot spots all over Europe I signed up due to several planned trips. I read assurances during the signup process that I could login and enable/disable in monthly increments at will. Great! I signed up for the monthly mobile plan and automatic credit card billing. I could not get it to work anywhere in Germany or the Netherlands. It found the hot spots, but none of them seemed to be a partner site meaning they wanted to bill me in addition to what I was paying Boingo. I decided it's not worth the monthly cost so I logged into my account to disable. Guess what? There's no option to do that online, you have to call them. I'm sure this is their bullshit way to keep taking money from you because nobody likes to sit on hold and it's only $9 a month. I called on a Sunday waded through the menu options (last one is the cancel option). Waited on hold for about 10 minutes. The woman was pleasant but acted like she had heard my complaint about having to call to cancel a million times. She said she would pass my concern on to management. I hope they actually stop billing my card. |
[2012-01-14] Laura: Europe Has trouble connecting on Galaxy S in Europe, even when wi-fi is readily available. Always have to force close. |
[2012-01-13] Robert: bobe383 Great app and works well on my Eee Pad. |
[2012-01-11] Braden: Good app Works awesome for traveling through airports and hotels. |
[2012-01-10] featherstoned: Alrite when it works properly but keeps on crashing and always looses connections. And once its started its impossible to turn off! |
[2012-01-09] William: Spot on 5/5 for findin the wifi sites |
[2012-01-04] Dave: WIFINDER WORKS BOINGO APP!!!!!! I LOVE THIS APP$$!!! WORKS GREAT ON ARCHOS 101 v2.4!!!!!! |
[2012-01-03] Henry: It's great 5 stars it's great |
[2012-01-02] Pedro Ferreira: Not there yet Good idea, but it doesn't work very well. Payed for a subscription and went to the Netherlands. The hotspots coverage is fair but the application fails to keep a stable connection even though I have set it to auto connect. Also, it takes too long to connect. |
[2011-12-30] Ian: Ian very helpful when i traveled in Taiwan! |
[2011-12-22] Chuck: Ok Doesn't detect when I am on wifi all the time. Other than that it is better than previous versions. |
[2011-12-20] Spencer: Wont stop notifying me! After im online it keeps retelling me |
[2011-12-17] oscar: Nice |
[2011-12-15] Paul: Needs work Doesn't allow you to prefer certain networks or to block others. Lacks feedback when it loses a connection. Doesn't let you add a free network. |
[2011-12-12] anthony: Ok Somewhat reliable... |
[2011-12-10] Gweilo: Complete waste of time & money I'm using Boingo on a Samsung Epic 4G Touch. . Some apps are a waste of time. Boingo is a waste of time and money. I signed up for Boingo service before a trip to the Far East. With Boingo I roamed onto Chungwa Telecom's wifi when I changed planes in Taipei. And that was the extent of Boingo's usefulness for my entire time in Asia. After I arrived in Malaysia I discovered that Boingo has just 3 hotspots *in the entire country* and none in Kuala Lumpur or Georgetown, Penang the 2 cities I was visiting. Telekom Malaysia has paid wifi hotspots all over the place but Boingo won't roam on them or anyone else. So what I ended up purchasing for $7.95 a month is slow software that alerts me to free wifi that I've already found on my own, such as the wifi in my hotel or at Starbucks. And it won't shut up about it, alerting me every few minutes to wifi that I'm alreadfy using, that's a big pain. Traveling to Asia? Stay away from this worthless app and service. I'm going to cancel Boingo the minute I get back home. You have been warned. |

[2011-12-10] Mesila: Cannot Uninstall From Optimus M (MetroPCS) Man, this useless thing! It adds insult to injury (injury to SD space, phone space, intelligence insult, etcetera) by being uninstallable yet ALSO frigging useless. Says it finds 'free' WiFi but while the WiFi is free, apparenly, to use it through this butthole of an app is a $$$ coster. It always annoys me when companies try to pull one over on users, even if I don't use it and it's not storage-space-gobblingly huge, I have to look at its damned icon taking up screen-space and just plain reminding me it's trying to force me to use it by NOT LETTING ME GET RID OF IT. WHY must they make me KEEP the bloody POS if I dun' wanna use it?!? A good product always sells, a BAD one only sells if it's forced onto your slab and made unremovable. That's pretty insane. And MetroPCS is usually a GREAT carrier. If anyone knows a way to hack this off my slab with some means that are not accomplishable by dialling 611, please email me, respond to comment, send by telepathic mind control currents, whatever. Boingo Schmoingo. |
[2011-12-08] jay: Good Need an automaticli sing up |
[2011-12-07] d: Misleading I was looking for wifi that gave its own signal, this just feeds off other wifi signals near you. |
[2011-12-07] Anonymous: Rubbish Another rip off merchant Continuously disconnects. Terrible customer service. Do NOT bother to even install, far better products on the market. |
[2011-12-07] Patrice: Frustrating but no choice This is a frustrating inconcictent service. But due to my location and commute the only option. It need stronger signals and more consistent service |
[2011-12-06] Joe: Terrible Isn't very helpful. Its expensive. Always drops connection. Needed to download and use to connect at an airport. Dont bother if you dont need to!!! |
[2011-12-05] Mark M: Happy Works really well. Samsung Galaxy Tab |
[2011-12-01] Roger: Boingo Works well at times. On occasions I have re install the app. |
[2011-11-30] alex: Poor service As a paying customer I was disturbed to find that after loosing my username that there is no 'I've forgotten my username' option. No replies to emails |
[2011-11-30] Lisa: Needs to be adjusted l use my Samsung Galaxy pad with Skypes inorder to turn the pad into a phone, but when l linked with Boingo l am unable to send or recieve calls. |

[2011-11-28] Tom: Good app Good app. Connects quickly and easily |
[2011-11-25] carin: Boingo This service is so unreliable. It will disappear for days upon a time. |
[2011-11-25] Andrew: Inconsistent I have a bionic. I work at the airport, prefer to use the boingo wifi instead of using data. Some days it works, some days it doesnt. Very frustrating |
[2011-11-24] nabulaer: עובד אחלה בעיקר בלונדון |
[2011-11-21] Gaff: Handy, yet a tad annoying. Boingo Wireless turns out to be quite a bargin, at least when I signed up at Hethrow Airport (in between sipd of cold beer). Boingo connects to Boingo and Free WIFI sites in an efficient manner. It does, however, pop up to "take credit" for accessing sites it has nothing to do with (I know it triggers whenever it connects to the Internet) which I find to be quite annoying. Otherwise good functionality (user friendly), good value for money and dead handy to have around when travelling. |
[2011-11-21] Yassine: Crap connectivity Keeps disconnecting says username and password not on system. You require to reinstall to get back online. |
[2011-11-21] samj: Deceptive and unreliable Not only does the app not connect reliably, nor stay connected, but it deceptively claims that you're using them when you're not. |
[2011-11-13] Stevey14y: Does what it says with no problems |
[2011-11-13] Vincenzo: not very reliable the software disconnects every 20-30 minutes without moving fRom the place i am |
[2011-11-12] LordAlfa: Not a sure thing. Difficulty to login to Narita. Wifi everywhere but can't connect. I have to use the Narita free wifi to get online. Shinkansen is ok. |
[2011-11-12] Anonymous: it needs to improve the conectivity |
[2011-11-07] GLEN: Boingo on Atrix Still have to reload every couple of weeks even after updates, shame because works well when it connects |
[2011-11-05] Rick: Can't even rate it without problems! Difficult to connect at even the big airports. Have had to spend $ on international phone charges calling for support and assistance to get connected |
[2011-11-02] BIzzy: So far so good Would prefer a lower price, but its what's here and so far it works! |
[2011-11-02] Ashley: Slow to connect Apps takes several minutes to connect. Seems to spend several minutes hunting through networks before connecting and then offer says no connection! |
[2011-11-01] Dana: When it works its great. |
[2011-11-01] Jonathan: Works. Connects to open networks and partners. |
[2011-10-30] Lyndsay: HATE I do NOT want to root my phone, therefore I must have crap-face apps like this. There really should be the option of uninstalling these useless waste of space apps. |
[2011-10-29] George: Without default |
[2011-10-26] enigmatech: Useless in Europe. Not where u need it, sometimes wont connect, and when it does, there is usually free wifi anyway. Annoying alerts. No support. |
[2011-10-26] Arif: has a few bugs ...won't log out! |
[2011-10-25] Kauto: Connects to wrong AP:s |
[2011-10-24] John: Exremely irritating bundled w.phone, no uninstall This is bundled with my phone and I cannot uninstall it, and if I force quit, it instantly restarts. I cannot turn off the extremely irritating alerts and they go off when I drive through my neighborhood. Why oh why do you bundle an app that cannot be turned off and yet is useless if you don't become a boingo customer? This is so irritating that is makes me not want to be a boingo customer, ever. Fix this, guys, and I MIGHT consider spending money with you. Otherwise, forget it. |
[2011-10-24] Richard: Customer service Sometimes reliable. Sometimes will not connect. Could use some improvement. |
[2011-10-24] TheCatsPajamas: 4th time I've had to install this app. Here we go again |

[2011-10-13] John: Useful for frequent travellers |
[2011-10-13] gmann: Terrible service considering canceling! G Frequently says WiFi is available and fails to connect. Specifically when there is a Boingo SSID hotspot nearby. International coverage is horrible! |
[2011-10-12] antimatter65: One of the worst apps on android OK service. App has no proper settings and keeps notifying you of your own home wifi every 5min. Only useful in airports. Uninstalled |
[2011-10-10] DavidP: It does what you expect... Not an amazing interface but works perfectly fine in connecting and finding boingo hotspots. What more do you want? |
[2011-10-10] James: Great Connected right up. |
[2011-10-08] hackel: Does not auto-connect The primary function of this app is to automatically connect to Boingo hotspots, but it does not even do this. Just a glorified password manager! |
[2011-10-06] niels: The best mobile app Boingo has ever released. Just installed it and got logged in with 2 clicks in under 15 seconds. Awesome! |
[2011-10-06] Saif: Excellent App Runs like a charm on the Zoom. No surprises and does exactly what it is supposed to do. |
[2011-10-06] Black: GREAT Its a great app. |
[2011-09-29] Jon: Ok but not there yet Getting there but not quite . Needs to be more stable as an application and when it makes a connection |
[2011-09-29] Andrew: Tries to be too clever. Good for Boingo subscribers to ease connections. But too noisy about non Boingo hotspots. No option disables repeated alerts on home and work wifi. |
[2011-09-25] Michael: Bingo AWESOME |
[2011-09-23] Francis: ( |
[2011-09-19] mike: Great when it works Does not always connect properly and I need to force connections. When it does work it is easy. |
