A high battery drain is often a limiting factor for a great user experience.
With BetterBatteryStats you can analyse the behavior of your phone, find applications causing the phone to drain battery while it is supposed to be asleep and measure the effect of corrective actions:
- Spot drainers based on detailed information about the root cause
- Use the online Knowledge-Base to find how to reduce or remove the wakelocks
- measure the effect of actions to reduce drain
- detect changes in the awake/sleep profile and quickly find the causes (rogue apps)

In other words BetterBatteryStats helps you to get the best out of your Android smartphone.

Permissions:
- android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE is used only for writing dumps to the SD. In case you don't need that feature please fell free to remoke that permission. It won't have any side effect besides disabling that feature
- android.permission.BATTERY_STATS is obviously the permission to access the internal statistics and can not be revokes without making the app unusable
- android.permission.INTERNET is required to access the online Knowledge-Base and Google Analytics. If you want to revoke this permission please make sure that the KB and GA are disabled in the preferences
- android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE is required for Google Analytics. You can opt-out from GA from the "Advanced Preferences" and revoke this permission
- android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED is required for cleaning references. Revoking this permission may affect the results of kernel wakelocks and custom reference until new references were saved
- android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE is required to detect when the phone was turned on/off in order to store references for advanced diagnosis
- android.permission.DEVICE_POWER is required to detect when the phone is disconnected from the charger and store the corresponding kernel wakelock reference. Revoking this permission will lead to losing "since unplugged" in kernel wakelocks
- android.permission.BLUETOOTH is required to fix a bug where the communication to the batteryinfo service stops working
- android.permission.READ_LOGS is required to allow logcat dumps to be saved. You can revoke this right and will lose only the ability to save logcats

BetterBatteryStats is open source so you can inspect/review/ contribute and submit issues or feature requests. Please check the about dialog for further details.

Awesome! (Samsung Galaxy S3 with version 1.11.0.0) I downloaded and used BBS to track down some serious power drains on my SG3. BBS is truly a one-stop shop for all the information you need to track down battery vampires. I was able to increase my battery remaining from 30% after about 12 hours to 75% after 16 hours simply by dramatically limiting app sync behaviors and freezing or uninstalling offending apps that refused to comply. I could not have asked more of BBS. It's worth every penny of its price and then some. Highly recommended.

What does it do?..... Nothing The most complicated application on the market. You can't understand half the words. No propper explanation on how to reduce your battery consumption. Just avoid unless you are an IT expert.

Fallback? I don't know why it's not working but every single time i tap on the widget i have to reset the program manually to "since boot" because it doesn't do it automatically. On the widget just show n/a. It only works when i recharge the phone

Still broken on my lg optimus Like the title says, it broke around the same time as the new icon and 2/3 updates later - still doesnt work. Keeeps asking sure for permissions which I grant - but never creates reference file - and zero stats. Sad to see the death of such a helpful tool :(

Awesome app when it works... I love this app, it helped me increase my battery life from 12hours to 20+ hours easily. The widget is super helpful as well. However, the app has been sketchy lately, sometimes it doesn't display any info, and I can't get it to until restarting. Also, the widget disappears ALL the time. I'm so sick of putting it back on my homescreen after it disappears.

Better battery life I dont know how it does it but by galaxy note 4.0.4 ics now sleeps properly. Only version 1.10.4.0 not latest one.

Helps troubleshoot battery problems I leave it installed even though I don't have any ongoing problems now, as the information it gathers is still helpful from time to time when I wonder why my battery died this time. Better Battery Stats it's more effective when your device is rooted. However, unlike most apps the require root, this one doesn't lose that much without root. I had the free version, only available through XDA, but bought the app to support the developer and further development. Please do the same if you like it too.

You then have a starting point for what apps or services might be causing this. bbs does work for those who feel this isn't working, plug your phone into it's charger, leave for a few seconds, unplug and refresh. it does work! you just need to give it a new frame of reference. :)
