[2013-03-16] A Google User: Decent app This is a nice app but there is a bug while importing contacts from CSV a contact with multiple numbers picks up only first one. |
[2013-01-28] A Google User: Excellent Worked perfectly. Transferred around 5000 sms from nokia to samsung s duos. Thanks to developer. **************One thing i want to add for all those who are getting Java error. **************** Read "Quick Help" carefully and then edit conversion set. Click on Manage Conversion sets -> select your file type (Nokia in my case) -> Edit Inbox and Sent pattern by replacing ; with , (comma) -> Click on Modify -> Now try to import your csv file. Good luck :) |
[2013-01-13] A Google User: Should work, but does not :( I tried to make it work with N900. Spent 4 hours on it, and finally made it. I needed to export smses manually from sqlite3 on N900, convert it several times to csv, and of course write own regular expression to import all messages. This is one hell of great software, but IMHO it desperately needs more documentation and examples. Until that happens, 4 stars. |
[2013-01-13] A Google User: waste of time Spent several hours but no success. Then took a chance with an old app (no longer available on GPlay) and with a few and easy settings all old sms from Nokia was successfully imported. |

[2013-01-03] A Google User: Unable to write Hello developers.. I exported the SMS from nokia 5800.. Replaced [;] with [,] and also added [r] prior to [n] as I used windows CSV export.. The app is successfully able to read data from CSV file and also prepares the data set to write.. While writing the data it fails with no error message.. Any help.? I believe your code needs some tweak because nexus 4 was released recently and you might want to revisit the SMS format of this phone.. Cheers |

[2012-12-09] A Google User: How to use and what is oi ? When i start app it show install oi .what is oi and how to download oi to import my nokia sms in my s2 help me . |

[2012-12-09] A Google User: Works with OVI suite export if you tweak CSV This will keep all returns/newlines/carriage returns in your messages. I Used ovi suite (3.7.12) to export all messages as csv. You'll need to install Ovi suite, Notepad++, Android Anything2sms (including its OI file manager). Using Notepadd++ 1) Select view, show symbol, all characters 2) ctrl H, and select option Regular expression You Must enter exactly whats written below | Find | Replace | then select Replace All a) |r|empty| b) |"sms",|sms,| c) |sms,"READ,RECEIVED"|sms, deliver,| d) |sms,"SENT,READ",|sms, submit,| e) |sms,"RECEIVED",|sms, deliver,| f) |,""|@@@| g) |""|'| h) |@@@|,""| i) |sms, submit,"[^"]*"|sms, submit,""| 3) Save file and copy to Android device and using Angy2sms Nokia CSV format to import messages. Notes: I prefer to use Notepadd++ as you can see all the characters and each message is displayed on a new line. The replace function does the following in order to convert to Nokia CSV fprmat for . (a) Remove CR(r) leaving just LF (n);(b,c,d,e)alters format to suit Anyg2sms; (f,g,h)replace double quotes in message body with apostrophie; removes uneeded number from sms submit. Gary. |

[2012-11-28] A Google User: Great app Awesome application. I got all my messages from Nokia imported in matter of minutes with this app. And best feature it is free without any restrictions like other apps. Just one change was required in setting from [;] to [,] to import the csv file |
[2012-11-25] A Google User: Helpful app. big thanks I needed to transfer an SMS from an old nokia phone to my evo 3d. although the HTC has a transfer app but it couldnt transfer SMS. After reading reviews about this app I decided to give it a try. I had to open the app and as other users said I modified the pattern for nokia by replacing the ";" by "," ( I also had to install the IO File Manager which proved great) Everything worked successfully yet it is important not to open the files on ur PC, directly send them to your android and use them in the application (otherwise things wont work). I would like to thank the developers for their great efforts, and I would ask those who put less than 4 stars ratings to reconsider their choices, modifying the pattern manually would make it work, it is a great app (abiding by what previous reviews described would definitely lead to a success) |
[2012-11-24] A Google User: Didn't work for me. It would start to transfer, but then stop with a Java error. No MMS and conversion set was edited. Might have been a corrupt SMS so give it 3 stars. For anyone else having problems though, I found a nifty app called Nokia2AndroidSMS (not on Play), which converts an Ovi backup file to xml which can then be imported via SMS Backup & Restore (Ritesh Sahu version). Worked a treat for me. |

[2012-11-13] A Google User: Great Great application, i couldnt find any better alternative to migrate sms from my old nokia. Thank you. I recommend to change the name of the app, as this is too hard to find, i found it while searching for something totally else. |
[2012-11-13] A Google User: Gets The Job Done with Ease I came across this while attempting to transfer messages from my old Nokia E72 to my new Samaung Galaxy S III. The instructions posted here about replacing the ";" with the "," worked like a charm. Just a small gripe though - all messages now appear as unread. Of course, that can be easily fixed. Wonderful app indeed !!! |
[2012-11-08] A Google User: Needs fix Modifying ; to , made it work |
[2012-10-21] A Google User: Great app... Fits every thing just in place Was looking for an ideal sms importer from nokia to my android for long and when i suddenly bumped into this. It is a neat app and can import as many sms as you want. In my case it did 3000 messages with correct date and time stamp..... And for those who are cursing it for changes in ";" and ","..... everything cannot be spoon fed. Please remember that it is free app and has NO LIMITS on number of sms imports unlike others. |
[2012-10-17] A Google User: Excellent tool Use the older Nokia PC Suite 7.1.60.0 as it can export inbox and oubox seperately which this app expects. Copied from a previous review [This is how it worked: 1. Open Nokia PC Suite > export SMS to .csv 2. DO NOT open the .csv file (you can using notepad), just dump it on your memory card. 3. Within the application, change the Nokia conversion set by replacing the [;] with [,] like this: Inbox: sms, deliver,"$(address)","","","$(date ,time)","","$(body)"[n] Sent items: do the same and replace the ; 4. Search for the file that you have dumped on your SD card. 5. Let the magic happen and you will have all of your old SMS imported on your Android phone!! Hope this will help anyone! Great application, it definitively helped me getting my old SMS on my new phone!! Also, it's FREE!!] |
[2012-10-02] A Google User: Needs lots of tweaking to work As most other people commented, this does not work for Nokia CSV files. However, it does offer the facility for you to create your own filters. After a bit of digging around in the CSV file, I managed to figure-out the following filters: In the Inbox field: "sms","[^"]*","[^,]*,RECEIVED","$(address)","[^"]*","[^"]*","$(dateyyyy.MM.dd hh:mm),"","$(body)"[n] In the Sent field: "sms","[^"]*","SENT,[^"]*","[^"]*","$(address)","[^"]*","$(dateyyyy.MM.dd hh:mm),"","$(body)"[n] To do this I created a totally new filter. I found that my tweaks to the Nokia CSV filter got overwritten so best to create a new one. Also, watch-out for auto-correct that tries to correct some of the words and add spaces after commas. There should be no spaces after the commas! Also, the CSV needs to be in Unix format, rather than windows (ie. uses n line-endings instead of rn). If you search around the Internet, you should be able to find a converter. I've given it 4-stars as it works (after a lot of effort) but is not the easiest app to use. Fortunately, you normally only need it once. |
[2012-08-17] A Google User: Were nice if it worked Downloaded this to import sms from Nokia. Somehow managed to get the inbox converted by changing the ; to , in the conversion sets. No luck with sent items whatever i tried. The error msg doesn't give any clues as to what went wrong where. Nice try though. |
[2012-08-02] A Google User: finally got my old SMS on my phone with this I first exported my Nokia SMS into .CSV file by using Nokia Suite 3.4.49 and tried to import the csv on my phone, wouldn't work. If you open the .csv file with Excel 2007 and make any modifications to the file and try to import the file afterwards, it will not work. I thought that this Nokia software version may be to recent, and installed good old Nokia PC Suite 7.1.60.0 and didn't open the exported .csv file afterwards. The magic worked after trying for hours to import my messages!!! No more annoying java.lang.exception error for me!!! This is how it worked: 1. Open Nokia PC Suite > export SMS to .csv 2. DO NOT open the .csv file, just dump it on your memory card. [2012-06-30] A Google User: Does what it says on the tin! I had to send my baby off for servicing, and used my old Nokia for a week. Afterwards, I used Nokia's PC Suite to export the text messages I sent and received for that week to CSV, copied them to my SD card. I pointed this app. at them, and it failed! However, I noticed in the settings that it expected Nokia SMS files to use semi-colons (Ovi?) where the old PC Suite uses commas, and once I'd edited that (and made sure both CSV files ended with new-lines), it imported them a treat. Nice job. It does require OI File Manager to be installed (dunno why, as I normally use ES File Explorer, but that didn't kick in to choose the CSV files), but that's not a problem for the duration of the import. |

[2011-12-29] A Google User: Didn't work... Despite double-checking the pattern match string and source files, and absence of any MMS messages, I too got the Java error. Uninstalled and used 'SMS Importer Lite' instead which worked perfectly (although did have to chop the CSV into chunks of 100 texts, but the Pro version can do it in one go if required). |

[2011-09-05] A Google User: WORKS BEAUTIFULLY! Works wonders in migrating sms from Nokia 5800! (1)Export inbox and sent sms as csv files. Open files in notepad and copy and paste the sent sms to the inbox sms to compile one file. (2) DL this app and change the conversion set for nokia csv inbox and sent - replace all the semicolons to commas (3) Make sure no MMS in the list (may get java lang error) (4) Hit convert (5) Do NOT let device or screen go to sleep or change orientation or you may convert again and get duplicate SMS! Fantastic and Free! |
