FAQ
1. What is freezing an app?
Freezing an app is a process that put an app hidden state in Android OS. All data is reserved. Therefore, a frozen app does not use any run-time resource (such as CPU or memory) and consume zero-battery. This option should be chosen if you would keep an app, but do not use it or try to test an alternative app. A frozen app can be defrosted later
2. What is defrosting an app?
This is a revert process of freezing that brings a frozen app back to Android OS. Some apps need reboot your device in order to effectively defrost.
3. What is backing up/restoring an app?
Backing up an app saves a current version of that app source (i.e. .apk file). Currently, backing up data will be supported soon. Restoring an app will overwrite the current app’s version by the backed up version. This option should be chosen if you want to test a new version of an app.
4. Which caches will be cleared?
This app attempts (I said attempt) to remove different caches on your devices. Currently, App Manager {root} supports three options: clear system caches, clear caches on internal storage and clear caches on SD card. There options can be enabled/disabled from setting button on Overview tab.

[2013-04-16] A Google User: Very useful... ...for "freezing" apps. One strange thing is that some apps that are only 'backed up', not 'frozen', show up in the Frozen section. Anyway, good otherwise. One thing to make it a GREAT app would be to have a lot more sort options, not just by size or name. -- how about it, dev? |

[2012-10-17] A Google User: Uninstall bloatware easily Once your phone is rooted, use this to remove unwanted bloatware and (cr)apps that came pre-installed on your Android. Save RAM. Free up space. Increase battery life. Own your device once again! 5***** Works brilliantly on Orange Monte Carlo (ZTE Skate) and Huawei Ascend G300 both running stock Android 2.3.4 and 2.3.6 respectively. |

[2012-07-16] A Google User: Great for Freezing Bloatware The only reason I use this app is for freezing the bloatware that comes with the phone. Of course your phone has to be rooted! The UI is easy to use. It also works well for freezing apps you don't want running and are constantly connecting to the internet (those which you don't use very often) but you don't want to uninstall. Nice app! Thanks. |
[2012-07-11] A Google User: Freeze and Defrost the Free Way!! Works quickly and easily (with root access) to freeze apps and remove them from the app list in the tray. As far as I can tell there are unlimited defrosts unlike other freemium apps that do the same. |

[2012-06-27] A Google User: Not Bad, but Crashes in ICS Great app to get rid of all the bloat. Unfortunately, needs an update to work properly in ICS! It works sometimes, only after a reboot, and will occasionally FC when trying to freeze an app. Otherwise, I love the functionality, ease of use, and the price (free!). |
[2012-06-27] A Google User: Razr ICS issues It works about 1/4 of the time. Freeze one or two things then it stops working. Have to restart phone. Then it might work but it might not. Just brings up a black screen. |

[2012-04-24] A Google User: Good app Very good app but not working in ICS on my S2! Maybe an update will fix this. 5stars if so! |
[2012-04-24] A Google User: App not working with rooted Galaxy S2 ICS Had this app on gingerbread rooted, updated to ICS this weekend and since then the app has not been working properly, had to remove, re-installed the app on rooted ICS but by doing so, it lost the frozen apps. if anyone esle find themselves in the same situation, frozen apps are in the root/system/app folder under apk_fro, in order to re-instate these frozen apps, dowload Super Manager from Google Play, use the file manager, switch the system from read only to read/write, search for your apps which end up with .apk_fro and rename to end with .apk. It is ashame as the app was working great until the ICS update, update is probably now required but I will now use an alternative app to freeze all the bloated apps from my galaxy s2. |
[2012-04-23] A Google User: Does what it says. Update: does not work in ics Use it to freeze bloat ware, works great. Anyone who complains about having to root the phone first is dumb, that's how all these types of apps work |

[2012-04-05] A Google User: Sometimes not working in ICS Freezes while requesting root access( the black screen). Clearing cache and "forgetting" root permission gets it to start again. Otherwise great app. |
[2012-04-05] A Google User: Good start, but not quite finished i sometimes have a problem that app manager will stop responding on my S2 running ICS. opening a task manager killing the process and restarting usually fixes this. when it works, which is most of the time, it does exactly what it says and is simple to use unlike most other app managers. one feature that needs to be implemented is a method of batch freezing and defrosting apps. |
[2012-04-02] A Google User: change this ugly icon ... :-( |

[2012-02-17] A Google User: free awesome app! My friend recommended i purchase the Titanium pro but i didn't want to spend any money on just freezing an application.
