148 will not burst anyone's ear drum. Guys in db drags still have ear drums. My spl car hit 157.4db, I can hear.

Even after calibrating at one db level, the louder or softer level does not seem to correspond well. Using the internal Mic may be the cause here.

Works all right on highs and mids when calabrated but will not pick you subs up! So if you want a meter for sub levels buy a real db meter! Droid used

Totally inaccurate. It was varying between 60 - 75 dB in a silent recording studio. Absolutely worthless.
