[2012-05-19] A Google User: Backup feature is indispensable! I've been using this app since I bought my very first Android device. The other features are OK and are dwarfed by other launchers and file explorers. But the backup feature is special: it let you copy an app. Why would you care? Sometimes the Play market wrongly refuses to show you an app or calls it incompatible. (Common reasons: bought device out of your home country, rooted.) Install that app on a friend's device. Install Android Mate too. Backup to /sdcard/am. Then transfer using email, Dropbox, Drive, File Expert, etc. (Make sure all your friends have this app in case you need them to "backup" for you.) I just wish the developer would enhance and modernize. But it still works. |

[2012-03-20] A Google User: Man, What Happened? This used to be an essential part of the Android toolkit (up there with ROM Manager and Titanium Backup). Was the most-used app on my OG Droid. Doesn't work on my Bionic; display sizes lib hasn't been updated since July 2010. Guess I'm done defending Android Mate against those morons who think it's a launcher or a rootkit ... R.I.P., little buddy. Thanks for all the help you've given me -- five stars for the memories. |

This app TAKES OVER your home screen, and you have to kill the process in settings to uninstall it. Really, guys, did you think your app was that important? |

Other apps are much more useful than this one, making this one obsolete.The apk installer just makes the hard and long work to look over your entire sd card and show the apk installers in it, because it thinks you put each one in a separate folder. And it thinks i'ts so good that it wants to be a launcher! |
