-In some program sound is broken (stop after awhile) when Speed Patch C is turned on.
-Some devices with physical keyboard failed to input additional characters by pressing Alt+Key. Please refer to FAQ General Usage #1.
-It's said that some high-end snapdragon based devices have poor performance. We never received an official report, please contact developer in this case.
If you have problem running a particular DOS program, please check with DOSBox Team for compatibility before report to us.

[2012-12-26] A Google User: Both good and bad sides Unlike DosBox Turbo, this DOS emulator managed to emulate a CD-ROM very well, so that I could run my favourite program, which needs to be fueled from CD. This gladdened me immensely. However, my air mouse doesn't work that well, and I couldn't get Win3.1 to run properly, which was easy in Turbo. (Probably I need to set some parameters correctly, which takes time to figure out.) So I have decided to use both emulators for different purposes. |
[2012-12-20] A Google User: DosBox Turbo is better Great app, I am a huge retro game fan, but I must say that, for me at least, DosBox Turbo is the better choice, lag was much worse with this emulator compared with DosBox Turbo while playing Master of Orion II (on Droid X). |
[2012-12-09] A Google User: AnDOSBox Works, but hardware keyboard/trackpad functionality not as good as with DosBox Turbo. |
[2012-11-21] A Google User: daggerfall mobile thanks to this software I can finally play daggerfall and arena on my phone! System shock works great, just use sb16 for music and sound. realms of the haunting works great but has to be reinstalled to make it work. only problem is lack of cd music support for build engine games bought on gog.com. |
[2012-11-16] A Google User: Excellent Was worth upgrading my firmware for |
[2012-09-28] A Google User: Review |
[2012-09-05] A Google User: Worth the $4. Tons of fun Well it took me 3 days, but I managed to get Microsoft Windows to run on my ASUS Android tablet. I tried 'aDosbox' by Hystudio. I choose AnDOSbox mainly because the mouse just works much better. Of course other feature that just arn't in 'aDosbox' Remember, ALL emulators have some kind of technical issues. That's part of the fun! 4 Stars because there's plenty of room for improvements. -Scott |

[2012-08-23] A Google User: Revision When I first downloaded the app I had a lot of problems With sound. After I did some dinkin around and device reset A lot of the problems seem to correct themselves. I still have sound issues with Fallout but not a lot of the other games. My original rating was a 3 star but due to the fact that Most of it was not the programs fault but My own I have upgraded it to a 5 star. I am currently working on a fix for mouse problems now but I believe this is due to the fact that android is not detecting my mouse properly. I have only 1 request being that I am using a wireless mouse there are no correct input devices on the system that will allow me to use a mouse to click and drag. At least that I hAve found as of yet. Perhaps a way to just use the system mouse inside of the application rather than a system and a application mouse that must be balanced together. In case It Is relevant I am usIng a logItech performance Mx. |

[2012-05-30] A Google User: Awesome! Thanks guys! Works great! |
[2012-05-20] A Google User: Really nice. I would like to see the delete key in the special keys list, and a feature that uses the cam button to toggle between trackpad and scroll |
[2012-05-02] A Google User: Great DOSBox port Very fast: makes use of M-HT's dynrec ARM backend update from the official DOSBox forum (the same patch is used in DOSBox Turbo), and this really kicks ass: Doom and Warcraft 2: 20000 cycles (13000 before) with flawless sound playback; Worms+, Ultima 7, Heretic run with 13000 cycles instead of 9000 now (Galaxy S @1.3 GHz, Darky's ROM 10.4.2, Semaphore kernel 2.5.0). AnDOSBox has been around for a long time and therefore is very mature. Everything's smooth and polished, and it features the best mouse emulation of all available ports. |
[2012-05-01] A Google User: Very good Could do with a nice 'manager' like dosbox turbo for launching different games, but I find this one to be less prone to crashing. Can't get the joypad addon to work tho |
[2012-04-15] A Google User: Permissions Unlike the opposition, this doesn't need network permission, which is excellent! Otherwise much the same. TurboC, TurboBasic, QBasic & Fractint all run nicely on my HTC Sensation, BTW; as well as the SIMH emulators (an emulator inside an emulator!) if you remember the PDP 8 and PDP 11... |
[2012-04-08] A Google User: Awesome! Who would have thought you couls play Jazz Jackrabbit on a tablet let alone Leisuresuit Larry. I just have to figure out how to use the game keyboard to save my progress and I will be in heaven. |
[2012-04-07] A Google User: Do not purchase this app. The developer is breaching the GPL. I urge you to not support this behavior. |
[2012-04-06] A Google User: Have to pay Extra for Cursor Keys If you want the virtual cursor keys shown in the photos, you have to pay $2.50 extra!! Very deceptive advertising, as practically all dos games need some type of cursor keys. I should have read the comments before buying. I tried the flit keyboard, and its unusable for gaming. |
[2012-04-06] A Google User: very good support Had problems with Forgotten Realms Unlimited Adventures, they provided me buildable andosbox sources for debugging on first request. |
[2012-04-06] A Google User: Functions But Does not function well at all on Optimus |
[2012-04-06] A Google User: Great! Good old Dos days are back! |
[2012-03-30] A Google User: Ripoff This is just a bad ripoff of dosbox turbo. Bought this one first. Bad idea. There isnt even any sound support! |
[2012-03-30] A Google User: Great Emulator, Awesome Developer Support I had an issue with the game Master of Magic running slow on my 7inch tablet (OMAP-4430 w/ 1GB RAM), and email the developer about the issue. I got a response within 3 hour of my email. After 3 or 4 correspondences back and forth within the same day, the developer was able to help me resolve the speed issue, and now MoM run at near full speed (game runs at 100% speed most of time, with minor slow down to ~75% normal speed once a while). For those of you that is also playing MoM on anDosBox, that runs a little bit slow also. Go into the dosbox.conf file in your sdcard root directory, and un-comment out the cpu cycle setting line, and change the 4000 value to 10000. Save the file, and launch anDosBox. It should run at almost perfect speed now. |
[2012-03-29] A Google User: Unusable without paying extra Buyer beware. In order to get the virtual Dpad shown in the photos, you will have to pay an extra $2.50 for their gamekeyboard app, which makes this app practically useless unless you fork out extra money, as most dos games require the arrow keys. I cancelled my order and went with dosbox turbo which has a free gamepad addon. |
[2012-03-28] A Google User: Excellent Best port of Dosbox I've been able to find for Android. It keeps on getting better and better! |
[2012-03-26] A Google User: The best emulator still! Knocks out the contenders Two great games that really will put my phone through it paces is Fallout and Ultima VIII. So, its only natural to compare the two best DOS emulators and see how they handle these games. If they can handle them well then they should handle anything you throw their way. Well, then we have ourselves a clear winner and it is anDOSbox. DosBox Turbo really fails to live up to the elder software. While neither emulator gives great sound in Fallout, anDosBox does however run the game at playable speed. And, when I say playable I mean all that they need to do is work on the sound emulation and Fallout is 100% playable. As it stands for DosBox Turbo at the moment they really need to work on speed. Whereas anDosBox can render a screen in mere seconds it can takes 10's of seconds load the same screen, and character movement is even more vastly noticeable between the two. My recommendation is anDosBox for now. The developer is just as active and supportive of his software, he just also happens to be the better developer and that is truly what the end user wants. DOS games at 100% speed and sound. This same review will be posted for both DOSbox emulators. |
[2012-03-21] A Google User: Easily the best x86 emulation available for android. Totally worth buying. |
[2012-03-20] A Google User: Moving in the right direction I have got and use all the DOSBox ports on android and have had the most success with this one. Now they have added hardware support for mice its easily the one i would recommend first. Plenty of features and easy to set up for the beginner. |
[2012-03-18] A Google User: Best dos emu period Just added right mouse button support for my 3.1 tablet and keyboard... super awesome! |
[2012-03-17] A Google User: Best Dosbox port on Android. It worth every piece of money. And support is fast and good. |
[2012-03-14] A Google User: Slow! Playing Heretic and Screamer is painfully slow on a Galaxy S2 - shame would've thought it would rip through those titles |
[2012-03-06] A Google User: Best DOS Environment since, well, DOS! The best DOS emulator I've ever used. Uncompromised support for Wordperfect 6.2, Borland Quattro 5.6, several development environments and complex games. Keyboard use is awkward (the Flit recommendation is a good one, but still leaves gaps) but the intuitive, flawless mouse support usually compensates. This alone made the purchase of my Galaxy Nexus worth the price! |
[2012-02-27] A Google User: Needs Being able to choose where C: is mounted and mapping hardware keys |
[2012-02-21] A Google User: Best Dosbox version.. But... for charging for a normally open source program, and at 4 dollars, you could try a bit harder to add features that are more Android/Phone specific that don't require you to edit config settings outside of the app. Shameful really. |
[2012-02-16] A Google User: Superb, but... Love this on Asus Transformer TF101, the separate game keyboard is great and now I can play all the games quite comfortably. The mouse emulation is atrocious though. Getting the cursor to work like trackpad would be much appreciated as now if I want to move the cursor in-game I need to double tap on my trackpad to get the touchmode on only after which I'm able to move the cursor in-dosbox. Also double-clicking is just impossible. I'm hitting the screen frantically, but it seems only 1/20 attempts goes through. Using mouse controls similar to trackpad controls should do the trick. Also mouse support would be neat for tablets that support them. Fix this and 5 stars are all yours. |
[2012-01-31] A Google User: Best dosbox version around Asus Transformer Prime here. Of the various abandoned and active dosbox port projects on the market, this is the most up to date and compatible. The team seems to do a decent job to provide updates. Wishlist item for 5 stars: Support for a two button mouse (e.g. transformer prime trackpad/external usb mouse) in pen mode. That would make all kinds of games instantly more playable. |
[2012-01-24] A Google User: Works for bionic now Runs smooth |
[2012-01-19] A Google User: Droid Bionic Beware Works good, great support! |
[2012-01-17] A Google User: Works well Plays second reality demo nearly flawlessly. Kewl. |
[2012-01-06] A Google User: best dosbox on droid! finally I can enjoy all the classics that I grew up on! keep the updates coming.. would love to be able to mount folders.. please work on that. |
[2012-01-05] A Google User: Really good app, but needs better mouse support. |
[2011-12-29] A Google User: Couldn't get many games to work, the few that did could not function without cursor keys...uninstalled |
[2011-12-27] A Google User: Good but I can't get the mouse to work |
[2011-12-12] A Google User: Smooth and polished. I'm very happy with purchase ,it runs games smoothly. Better then others. I'm using a droid incredible . Dos games on my phone Hell yah! |
[2011-12-10] A Google User: Really needs fixed! The colon doesn't work on droid bionic |
[2011-11-24] A Google User: Great port! The best. Can even run my old Windows 3.1 cd-rom programs! |
[2011-11-21] A Google User: Amazing Great work, after turning off alt mapping the droid 3 keyboard works amazing. Runs smoother than adosbox. |
[2011-11-13] A Google User: Awesome Support Is it fair to pay for an app based on open source software? Absolutely! It's all about support. The app did not work on my Bionic because of keyboard issues. Locnet was very responsive to emails and had several suggestions on how to make it work. I didn't have any luck and they immediately offered a refund (I didn't even ask). I declined. Less than 30 days later, I get another email with a fixed version that now works. This is the level of support that I wish I had for software at 10x the price. |
[2011-10-22] A Google User: Works well with DOTT! The whole reason I purchased this was to play Day of the Tentacle and it does amazing! |
[2011-09-28] A Google User: Perfect! The perfect app for work! Xcom, frontier elite 2, and transport tycoon all on my phone! Just need a faster phone now! |
[2011-09-21] A Google User: Scaling issue on qHD Please fix scaling issues on qHD devices. The screen is too small to be playable. Make it a feature so the app takes up the resolution of the phone. |
[2011-09-20] A Google User: Speed? Great port! Though I'm on a droid x with a 1ghz processor and the games I used to play w/ 66mhz are very slow! Am I missing something? tried cycles.. |
[2011-09-19] A Google User: Unbelievable! More than 3 years I'd searched and tried a way to play my favorite old dos game "The lost vikings" on my mobile phone. I can not believe that it ran on my SAMSUNG GALAXY Fit! You done it guys, thank you all in dosbox team. I think I need some practice to be familiar with keyboard and controls. A little strange to me but it works. G' Luck! |
[2011-09-17] A Google User: Amazing Runs Master of Magic very well on the Asus Transformer. Has multiple modes for mouse input, resize works great, and performs well. Author responds to email and is very helpful. GameKeyboard from the same author is very nice to have for key remapping in this and other emulators. |
[2011-09-11] A Google User: Qb45 on muh fone! |
[2011-09-09] A Google User: BEST Dosbox App. Best DOSbox app Great app does most of what I need it to. Feature request: 1. Scalable viewer 2. Mouse support for tablets with a hardware mouse optio |
[2011-09-09] A Google User: Great! Runs dos very smoothly. Keyboard implementation has room for improvement. |
[2011-09-08] A Google User: This is awesome, was able to get Masters of Orion one on my Garminfone, favorite pc game of all time! |
[2011-09-01] A Google User: Best DOS App for Android Absolutely excellent DOS app for Android! I was able to play Dungeon Master, load Windows 3.1, etc! 4 stars until arrow keys are supported.. then 5 :) |
[2011-08-16] A Google User: Excellent port of Dosbox. Impressive for a first version ! It can runs almost anything on my Galaxy S. The mouse+keyboard are easy to handle on a touch screen and makes all adventure games (like sierra's) easily playable. One suggestion: Many games rely on the directional keys (arrows) and I could not figure a way to access those keys on the keyboard (there are not in both the 3x4 and qwerty keypad). Am I missing something? Keep up the good work ! |

[2011-08-03] A Google User: No support for keyboard arrows. If you have a game with no mouse support, you're SOL assuming you don't already have hardware buttons instead. |

[2011-07-25] A Google User: Worth Every Penny While other DOSBox apps for Android are merely "functional", AnDOSBox really works! A lot of time and polish has been spent on this that will make it worth every penny. They Keyboard / mouse support is fantastic. The author is GPL compliant and very responsive. This App is WORTH PAYING FOR! |
