aNag (v. 2.3.13) Разработано Damien Degois |
aNag is an unofficial Nagios and Icinga client for android devices. The goal of this application is provide to sysadmin an embedded overview of all their Nagios and Icinga monitored infrastructure.
It also works with Opsview, at least v4.1.1, probably other version too. If not, mail me, and be prepared to provide me a temporary read only account :) .
And now also work with EyesOfNetwork but as for OpsView, be prepared to provide me a temporary read only account for debugging purposes.
aNag handles:
- multiple Nagios and Icinga instances
- no server side modification required (only stock CGI)
- self signed / invalid certificate exception on per instance basis
- Background auto refresh
- Service filtering (acknowledge, scheduled downtimes, disabled notifications and SOFT state) customizable differently for notification and display
- Notification (top bar, vibrate, sound) on per severity basis and on update failure
- Fine grained notification criteria
- Pattern based filtering (regexp, equals, contains, starts with, ends with against server name, service name, services message or a selection)
- Quiet hours (global or on weekday basis), Critical only mode (change quiet hours behavior)
- Multiple actions available directly in app [on hosts or services]:
- * acknowledge (incl. Icinga 1.6+ expirable ack)
- * custom notification
- * submit passive check
- * enable/disable notification
- * recheck
- * downtime management (set and remove)
- Shutdown the application and the update service until manually restarted (eg: for vacations or weekends) using "About" => "Kill app & service"
- Widgets (multiple size)
- Can warn you even in silent or vibrate mode
- Tier 2+ mode available to delay notification based on duration
- native gzip support (see note in the FAQ for JSON compression using mode deflate)
- Quick auth for basic authentication (reduce request count)
- Icinga JSON format (1.6+) (more efficient than standard parsing, even more in conjunction with gzip)
I noticed that some preference summaries where truncated on some devices so you can found a complete reference of aNag's preferences with summaries and comments at http://damien.degois.info/android/aNag/settingstree .
The complete changelog is available at http://damien.degois.info/android/aNag/changelog .
You'll also find all user comments available and associated answers at http://damien.degois.info/android/aNag/usercomments .
If you use/like/hate aNag, have comments or just want to write something, feel free to drop me a line, I'm also interested on your usage / setting (number of instances/services, if you use quiet hours, your usual notification settings).
Suggestions are also welcome. You can also consider donation at http://damien.degois.info/android/aNag/donate .

[2013-08-05] A Google User: Great app, easy to setup, very handy Probably the most useful app I currently have. As I provide support to multiple companies, this app allows me to keep an eye on the current state of all of their infrastructure with minimal extra effort. |
[2013-07-30] A Google User: Love it.... But have a suggestion.... Could you create a widget that just refreshes my instance? I only have one instance (so far), but I would love it if my N with the green droid on top, when the n goes red, I could then just click the instance and it would refresh.... I live in a canyon with bad reception, and often have to traipse out beyond wifi reception. |
[2013-07-11] A Google User: Awesome How do I set it to notify only on new alerts? |

[2013-06-01] A Google User: Nice app, but needs a few defaults changed This is a pretty good app, but I was quite surprised to see the display of a load of services/hosts that I'd disabled notifications for in the Nagios Web interface. Delving into the settings, "Display filters and options" does indeed have options for this (to hide services/hosts that have had their notifications disabled), but it bizarrely defaults to *not* being ticked. I think the default for this is important because you don't want to swamp the first-time user with a load of "problems" that they don't normally deal with. The fact that the option to change this behaviour isn't hugely easy to find means that some people might be put off right away and uninstall the app. Please consider changing the default for the two options in the Settings. |

[2013-05-24] A Google User: Amazing App I was in Antigua for a vacation when I aNag showed that the Oracle Replication was down. I promptly VPN'ed to the office to disable the Main Oracle server from archiving to the Replication server. Emailed my colleague to check why the Replication was down. Enabled Archive logging back to the Replication server once it was brought back up. Main server would have stopped working if it was not able to archive to the Replication server. Company commended me for working on the problem while on vacation. Keep up the good work guys. |

[2013-04-26] A Google User: amazing app hello admin...no doubt its an amazing app, got every detail which we required to monitor..! but, observing one problem not able to monitor one particular group which is configure in nagios...can we monitor one group (with host and services) in "anag" app..? |
[2013-04-25] A Google User: Awesome |
[2013-03-31] A Google User: Most complex nagios app ever It has a lot of features, like: filters, DNDinterval(for every day of the week), extra filters, by pattern or service state ( for example I want notifications only on Critical state) ant a lot more. |
[2013-03-24] A Google User: Alas, needs some work Just says 'host name may not be null'. It appears to be stripping characters from the host address and making it invalid. My hunt for a nagios client better than the web UI goes on.. |
[2013-02-26] A Google User: Fantastic app |
[2013-02-22] A Google User: The best app ever! The best app ever! |

[2013-02-17] A Google User: ANag with NagiosXI 2009 R1.4B Hi, Just installed this app but couldnt figure out how to configure it for my NagiosXI server (2009 R1.4B). I entered the cgi directory url as http://nagios-server-ip/nagiosxi/login.php?/ with a valid user name a pass. It connects but doesnt fetch the host/service detail. Please help, forgive if it's been already asked. Thanks, Aijaz |

[2013-02-08] A Google User: Great phone interface for Nagios |
[2013-02-08] A Google User: Can't live without it |
[2013-01-31] A Google User: Best status access. The best mobile app for Nagios or NagiosXI that I've used. The widget offers the best data overview I've seen. |
[2013-01-31] A Google User: UI The only place this could improve is the UI. |
[2013-01-22] A Google User: Excellent app! Love this app, with its useful summary screen. It's a bit noisy, but that's more a function of how our nagios instance is set up. Would be better if it listed faulty services by host rather than by service name as that would be more useful to me (I generally want to know which host is experiencing an issue before I want to know what issue is being experienced), but that doesn't detract from it much. BTW, I have it installed on the Samsung Galaxy S3 with the latest version of the 4.1 Jellybean. |
[2013-01-11] A Google User: Excellent Does the job and does it well. Thx. |
[2013-01-01] A Google User: Grear job! Nice work, I'm impresses |

[2012-11-26] A Google User: Great app but broke after upgrade to Jellybean aNag worked great for me until I upgrade my Samsung Galaxy SIII to Jellybean. Now it stops at random and often the icon is all grey. I need to start it again and refresh it manually to get my little man to go green again. Any suggestions? Anyone got this stable on Jellybean on an SGSIII? It was rock solid pre-upgrade. |
[2012-11-26] A Google User: Incredible! I very much like how I can configure aNag for every little thing. And I do. We have hundreds of machines and thousands of monitored services on them. aNag handles all of this without a single problem. |
[2012-11-23] A Google User: The Best Nagios Application Out There I use Nagios in my business to monitor my customer networks. I have been using aNag for a couple of years and it is a wonderful front end tool for my Android phone. There are so many features and configurable options that I can customize to my own personal needs. Truly a wonderful application! I would definitely recommend. |
[2012-11-07] A Google User: Awesome Incredibly powerful, very customizable, and free. Coworkers have switched to Android just so they can use aNag, and I can't live without it. |

[2012-10-12] A Google User: From awesome to even better The only thing I originally thought would make this better would be a widget... and this new version has it! perfect app! And yes, still straight to the point, and very useful. Widget problem fixed! too bad I can't give 6 stars... And I'm still using it as of version 2.3.6 |

[2012-10-02] A Google User: Good The only app that would let me log in, this is the only one that supports ops view. UI needs lots of work. |
[2012-09-26] A Google User: Easy to use checker for Nagios Shows alerts and allows you to manage them. Simple and easy. |
[2012-09-22] A Google User: Persistent notification It would be nice if aNag would automatically stop "new event notification" if the event disappears (someone else fixes the problem) without opening the UI - useful feature to have when used with other monitoring means: nagstamon, nagios checker, etc. |
[2012-09-18] A Google User: Works Just works and is nice to look at too! Absolutely recommended! |

[2012-06-15] A Google User: Great App Perfect for nagios monitoring. Currently monitoring 4 instances and thousands of hosts. This is the ideal mobile solution |
[2012-06-07] A Google User: excellent job Great application, thanks for that! |
[2012-06-01] A Google User: Great app, minor issue trying to stop the application. The app sometimes won't exit when using the help menu and not even when using aan task killer. It keeps restarting and doing a check. |

[2012-05-16] A Google User: Excellent for sys admins Very useful and great time saver. |
[2012-05-10] A Google User: We don't use CGI, URL is thus invalid Can't use app with nagios 3 without cgi URL |

[2012-04-28] A Google User: great! Great Nagios client with notifications and status bar icon |
[2012-04-27] A Google User: Nice app Idea for improvement - besides the options for hiding the ack-ed (and otherd) hosts and services it would be nice to have an option for just graying these, or draw a line across them. Also in listing these could be sorted to the end of the list, i.e. new problems could be first. |
[2012-04-19] A Google User: Great Nag Monitor Does just what you need with just enough options for flexibility. |
[2012-04-18] A Google User: Most often used app... This is great application, which I mostly use on my Android. Thank you! |

[2012-04-11] A Google User: :) Great app.. |
[2012-04-05] A Google User: Fully functional, and highly configurable. Lots of configuration options and tweaks, or works fine with just the basic instances / server settings put in. Notifications can be tweaked, and the maker even added LED notifications after I requested them. By far the best Nagios monitor for Android there is, and it keeps getting better! |
[2012-04-04] A Google User: Awesome!!! This client never fails me! It keeps tabs on all my Nagios servers with no problems. Highly configurable with quiet times and filters. HIGHLY recommend! Bionic running .902 on Eclipse rom. |
[2012-04-04] A Google User: Best Nagios client so far The layout of the notifications could be nicer, but it works. That's more than can be said for some of the other nagios apps I have tried. |

[2012-04-03] A Google User: Essential tool for icinga users This app is easy to configure, easy to use and is fully featured, now with expiring acks as well. Does everything I need it too and displays alerts clearly. |
