[2013-03-27] A Google User: Grep works, highlights hits in source Android 4.1 JB Galaxy Note 2 and agrep returns expected results from a txt file on either sdcard0 or extSdCard. Agrep finds hits AND if you press on a hit agrep will open the input file and position to the highlighted grep string. |

[2013-03-01] A Google User: Solid Wish it'll search file names also. Great app! |
[2012-12-04] A Google User: Maximum white background Can you allow changing the background color? It's uncomfortable after long on this OLED screen. |
[2012-11-18] A Google User: Great Program Couldn't use Android seriously without it. |
[2012-11-18] A Google User: Good But ...this year is 2012, not 2011... |
[2012-11-18] A Google User: Works very well Love the copy-to-clipboard feature - so convenient! In case you're not aware of this feature, just tap on the line that you want to copy to trigger it. :) |
[2012-10-27] A Google User: So great An essential app if you use actual words. |
[2012-10-15] A Google User: Great app Knowing some regex syntax really makes this app shine. |
[2012-10-04] A Google User: 1.5 MB text file with 2 occurrences grepped fast! I had a 1.5 MB network traffic trace that was choking my Android text editors when trying to do simple searches. downloaded this app and literally within seconds had grepped out the 2 lines of importance to me... even better and to my joyous surprise was that selecting either grepped item took me into the text file and allowed me to look in context with grep term highlighted. Simple, clean, fast and intuitive! |
[2012-09-27] A Google User: After finding, then what? It works to find a document (eg, a pdf), but it's useless, because then when I tap to open the item, it opens it as a huge text file full of gibberish, instead of letting the correct default program (eg, Adobe Reader) open it. |
[2012-06-03] A Google User: Better than grep! This little search utility is a handy grep-like program for your phone. In some ways, the regex supported is more advanced than grep, for instance, I was able to do lookaheads - (?=EXP) that you can't do in grep, presumably because this uses java regular expressions instead of POSIX regular expressions. I give it 5 stars because it is really quite useful, but I do have one little suggestion: while I do like the mode of searching in specific folders and with specific file extensions, sometimes I want to search only a single file, even if there are other files with the same extension in that folder. So, being able to specify only certain files (instead of which folders/extensions) would be useful in addition to the search mode that already exists. |

[2012-05-30] A Google User: Works well :) |
[2012-05-28] A Google User: So FIne I wrote a perl program like aGrep called igrep. I use igrep on Mac, PCs, and Linux, but have searched and searched for a handheld app with igrep functionality. THIS IS IT! I use aGrep (and igrep) as a personal information manager, and could not live without it. My thanks to the developer! Dropbox interface would be a nice enhancement. (For now, I use FolderSync Lite.) |
[2012-05-22] A Google User: thank you! this is just what i needed!! i have a directory full of html files, each one corresponding to a bus stop in my city. with this app, i can search through all the files to find the name of a cross street within the file. this program has a good, simple, easy interface. this program has a text reader built into it. Click a result, it will open in the text viewer. When you are in the text viewer, click the menu button, and you can view the file in any other installed app that is able to view the filetype. |
[2012-05-16] A Google User: Best search app EVER! Words cannot describe how much I love aGrep. I've been looking for an app like this for a long time. This one searches multiple text files and is FAST, complete, and thorough. If you have text files and you need to do keyword searching, you need this. Text editor apps all seem to struggle with searching; this app is built for it. |

[2012-03-10] A Google User: Great for searching Using to find is a bit unintuitive. Other than that it works great. |
[2012-01-08] A Google User: Excellent utility! I have a couple "ideas" I'd like to throw at you, though. What are the chances of enabling it to search LAN connections (e.g., as ES File Explorer enables wireless connection with PC)? In other words, enabling it to search my PC from my phone. Also, can you incorporate an ability to search djv/djvu files? (Motorola Atrix 4G) |
[2011-11-24] A Google User: Great! Needs to show path in search results. |
[2011-11-11] A Google User: Fatal flaw Could be very useful, but for me it has the fatal flaw that it seems to only look at the first 10k of a file. |
[2011-10-20] A Google User: Love it Very well done - have been looking for something like this for ages |
[2011-09-14] A Google User: Wow Simple elegant sweet. Really free |
