Advanced LEAP Wifi (v. 3.0.4) Разработано oneguyinabasement.com |
Connect your Android device to a LEAP (CISCO wifi protocol) network. No root access needed!
Why use Advanced LEAP Wifi over other, free offerings on the Android Market? Unlike other offerings, this application is targeted specifically for configuring a LEAP wifi profile. The reason this is significant is because through my extensive testing and debugging of customer-reported issues, I have found MANY inconsistencies between the different Android OS releases and devices. The coding required to successfully connect to a LEAP network needs to compensate for these many inconsistencies. The other offerings out there are general wifi configuration tools, which means they don't give focused attention to the special requirements of creating a proper LEAP configuration.
Additional features not in free version of LEAP Wifi from oneguyinabasement.com:
- Advanced network settings (set authentication protcols, group ciphers, pairwise ciphers, etc)
- Scan for nearby SSIDs. Easily determine which wifi signals in range are for LEAP networks. The app filters out non-LEAP networks.
- Edit existing configurations. Does your company require periodic password changes? This saves you the time of entering the other information every time.
- No ads or notifications
NOTE: Please be aware there are many reports of the inability to connect to a LEAP network if the username contains a Windows domain, such as domainusername. At the moment this appears to be a limitation in Android with no way around it.

[2012-10-25] A Google User: Won't connect to LEAP network This won't connect to my corporate network at all - seems to continuously loop when trying to connect. I could have bought half a beer with that money. Someone owes me half a beer. |

[2012-09-24] A Google User: Ice Cream Sandwich on Xoom This does not connect using Ice Cream Sandwich, but a coworkers is still using Honeycomb, and this works. He upgraded to ICS, and no connection. He rooted and went back to Honecomb, and fuctionality is restored. He likes it, and it appears to work very well....with Honeycomb, not Ice Cream Sandwich. |

[2011-12-02] A Google User: Doesn't work with DomainUsername If your network requires input of a domain, user name, and password to access WiFi, this app won't help you. The developer is very helpful but, due to limitations of Android, wasn't able to assist in my case. |
|
[2011-10-26] A Google User: Poorly written. App continually pops up with a message saying that it needs to be purchased. It also doesn't work for my leap configuration. |
|
[2011-09-08] A Google User: Doesn't connect If the place you want to connect has 2 Access Points with same SSID, and one of them is visible and the one you want to connect is not, there's no way to get it done. None of the configurations helped me to get connected |
|
[2011-06-28] A Google User: Works Perfectly I can now RDP and file browse on the corporate network, managing servers just got easier |

[2011-05-11] A Google User: Thank You Basement Guy! My EVO can now connect at work! I didn't need to change any settings. Just entered the SSID and my username and pword and it connected right away. Could not get any settings to work before installing this app. You definitely filled a niche. |

[2011-04-21] A Google User: Perfectly fills a gap the daft Google guys forgot Does what it needs to do and does it very well. Settings can be a little bewildering for beginners, but if you need to use this app then you're not really a beginner and SHOULD know what you're doing with it. Trialed previously but have now bought and supported the author. Do it too, you know you want to. |
