AdFree removes most ads in the browser and other apps. It does this by nullifying requests to known host names in the system hosts file.

If you have problems with this app, or you know of additional host names not being filtered, please comment in xda-developers.com forum so it can be fixed!

Works well. Still lets a few ads through here and there but not many. Interface is clunky. Boot normally option is annoying every time.

Browser ads Use to be very great thing to have but for some reason it does not block ads inside dolphin hd browser anymore still blocks ads in games and other apps but made browsing online better when 2/3 of the screen wasn't ads will change my rating when/if this is fixed

Best app One of the best apps for removing usless ads!! However it does not remove official ads from apks like talking tom etc!!

excellent piece of ads blocker you guys rock my phone! now most of my softwares are ads-free, just only a few which still have one or two like the Astro file manager, but it's alright since the rest now have no more ads, and that annoying push notification ads are now the things in the past as well!

Works pretty well. Not all features are working on Android 4 though. The local webserver will stop running after a reboot.

Likes to mod external SD folder permissions. Great program but found a bug. It likes to mod the permissions on folders that I frequently use to transfer files from my comp to the SD card. It essentially makes the folders non writable and I always have to execute "chmod -R 777" on them to get them writable again. This only happens when I update the host file via the program. No idea why it is doing this in the first place... EDIT: I do not know if it is this app or if it is my tablet. But all of my tests that I have tried seem to point that the app might be the one that is causing this problem.

Works good, but needs a way to temporarily disable ad blocking. Many times a legitimate link is blocked.

This app is ok After having this for awhile, I discovered that the app was allowing some ads to come in w/ my games. Not cool it became annoying so I deleted it. I will say this it does the job for the most part but 1 or 2 ads tend to creep in and im very anal about any ads entering on my phone. Other then that it was good while it lasted. still thanks to the creator for making it considering my azz can't do any better ...lol

Yes. Does what it says. The only downside is when in an app that has those pop up ads, you get a blank screen instead of an ad.

Works Works as advertise. Needs option to turn ad blocking off for certain apps. 5* when that happens because there are some apps I don't mind ads in so I can support the developers. Where would Android be without the app devs anyway, they deserve the cred but some apps do too much with ads which makes this app really handy

careful, can break googleplay and amazon market great idea and implementation method iscorrect, but in my case it broke googleplaay and amazonmarket's ability to validate SSL certs and so those apps broke.
