Simply SMS is based on the popular Shady SMS messager. Many users weren't interested in the privacy aspect of the application, and asked for a standalone version. Simply SMS is just that.

The ALPHA release does not have MMS support whatsoever. Android 3.0 will hopefully provide an official MMS API to provide such support
