Diccionario Advanced English-Spanish/Español-Inglés VOX is an accurate and complete dictionary for language learning. The dictionary contains about 68, 000 words and expressions with abundant usage examples, notes of culture, idiomatic expressions, phrasal verbs and technical terms.

Dictionary FEATURES:
What’s New: Easy copy-and-paste functions copy words to the clipboard for translation. With the launched dictionary you can copy an unknown word from an application you are using at the moment (e.g. web browser), then switch back to the dictionary and automatically get the translation of the copied word or phrase if it is available in the application base.

Search and translate Features
• NEW! Three new integrated input methods make dictionary use more convenient than ever. Search by voice using Google Voice recognition service (Available for OS 2.2 and higher), take a picture of the text and translate it with Google Goggles, or enter the word in your own handwriting with Paragon’s PenReader handwriting recognition software (available for English language).
• Look up unfamiliar words in dictionary directly from the home screen! The dictionary provides translations in a Quick Search Box alongside other search results.
• NEW! Search by voice. Speak your queries instead of typing words in a dictionary. (Use Google voice recognition service. Available for OS 2.2 and higher.)
• Morphology module helps to translate words in any grammatical form.
• List of similar words is displayed in case of misspelling

[2013-03-30] A Google User: History issues!! The new updates messed up the history. Instead of there being a history of the last twenty words you've looked up it only keeps a history of the words that our have looked up recently, but once you close the app then they disappear. It's a great dictionary but the app needs an update. |

[2012-05-01] A Google User: Good dictionary, let down by software A good dictionary but I have had to stop using it for two reasons. Firstly extra words can pop up at the top of the list with an "m" next to them while you are trying to press one of them. This moves them all down so you hit the wrong one. Secondly the keyboard now appears automatically on exiting a definition. This happens after a small delay meaning that the same thing happens, and you can end up hitting a key and wiping your whole entry. In landscape mode the keyboard takes the whole screen making this particularly annoying. Finally there is a delete button on screen (why?) but strangely you have to go through the menu to change the translation direction. Audio for Spanish words would also be nice, I guess this is more meant for native Spanish speakers. Apart from that the dictionary is generally pretty accurate and complete, and the definitions are very easy to read. What a shame. |
