《山楂树之恋》是以主人公静秋在1977年写的回忆文字为基础写成的，除了叙事部分是艾米根据和静秋的谈话补充描写，对话部分大多沿用静秋的原有文字。因此，本书作者的署名有两个，一个是作者艾米，一个是原作者静秋。
