PrediSat grabs Iridium flare and satellite pass data from Heavens-Above.com and conveniently formats it on your phone. It also includes a few features to help you spot satellites, such as alerts, countdown, and night mode.
PrediSat Pro includes the same features as PrediSat and more.
For your satisfaction, please try the ad-supported PrediSat before purchasing. Chances are if you don't like it, you probably won't like Pro either.

PERMISSIONS:
Internet - Fetch satellite data, browse Heavens-Above site.
Location - Sent to Heavens-Above to find predictions for your sky.

View Network State - Check connectivity before trying to download data.
Vibrate - Notifications (optional).
TRANSLATIONS:
PrediSat is ready for translations! Google Translate isn't quite good enough (I've tried), so I need human translators.

[2012-06-10] A Google User: Force close, used to work Its so cool to not only know when and where to look but also have name and other info on each SaT Loved it until recently it quit working. Force closed when fetching passes. Will fetch flares ok. Upgraded to pro to donate. Galaxy II S att Update, if I turn WiFi on then I can download Passes. Hope this info helps. I sure miss using this application while I am out camping. Update: I found a way to use this app even when I do not have WiFi or 3G service to download Passes. By default when you click on Passes it tries to download if old data is 6 hours old. (and then crashes). To change this,, Under preferences,, Data,, Cache Expire Time,,:change this to 240 hours (10 days). Now I can actually use the Application again for 10 days without cell service Yea!! and I can manually refresh the data anytime I have strong enough service. Ok I figured something else out that helps me use this Great Application! If I first clear cache then I can download fresh Pass Data even with a very weak non 3G cell signal :-) it doesn't time out and crash. The creator mentions in the Docs that some people have trouble with the cache on another problem |
