Notes
(1) If you use iBird in the field, please do so responsibly. We recommend the American Birding Association's Code of Ethics (http://www.aba.org/about/ethics.html), particularly section 1(b), for guidance.
(2) The database of bird illustrations, photos and sounds is downloaded from our server so before installing iBird please make sure you are on a fast WIFI connection. A cellular connection will general be too slow.
(3) If you need tech support please go to http://www.whatbird.com/contactus/ and fill out the form. It will help us diagnosis your problem.
(4) SD Cards and iBird App Installation. iBird always attempts to store the database on the devices SD Card or in the device's storage memory. However not all devices will allow this. As developers we do not have control over where the app ends up. You can tell if the app can be moved to the SD Card by going to Settings->Applications->Manage Applications and tapping on the iBird app in the list.

[2012-07-01] Teresa: Pretty Good Search by region needed. Keep adding more birds and their variations! |
[2012-06-22] Jim: Yard Bird This may be a wonderful app on an iPad, but Android implementation is lacking as is support - the last straw was filling out the "contact us" form, clicking "continue" to the next page and getting "A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond (10.122.159.2:25)." On returning to the previous page, all entered data was lost - gee, let's do it all over again! Issues encountered included hangs at splash screen, hangs at updating data base, hangs at synchronizing database, etc. Eventually, mounted SD card as a disk drive, deleted both Lite and Plus folders and attempted a reinstall. Wouldn't you think that a proper uninstall program would do that automatically? Nah! I give it 3 stars since the Lite version showed promise and the 3rd reinstall is finally (glacially) updating its 234 birds. Suggestion: Feature the Installation FAQs more prominently and include instructions on deleting left over folders and files since this is not an intuitive process for most users. Better yet - write a proper uninstall program, include install FAQs on the download screen and provide a timer on the splash, etc. screens to indicate whether or not the program has crashed. |

[2012-06-18] Francis D.: iBird yard Plus Well organized, beautifully illustrated, most interesting, complete in every detail so far! ! |

[2012-06-10] David: Wonderful App Just about everything you need to enjoy birding. Logical interface is easy to use. |
[2012-06-07] Laura: Very few birds, can't search by region. I had a very high hopes for this app and was excited to snag it for. 99 instead of 9.99. I feel like I wasted my money. There are very few birds in the list and they are not separated by region or species. It's just an alphabetical list. The only reason it got 2 stars from me is because the bird calls it does have are excellent. It didn't have what I was looking for, I would be really angry if I had wasted 10 dollars on this. As it is I wish I could have my 99 cents back... |
[2012-06-07] Alley: Love it We use this to call the birds to the feeders! |
[2012-06-06] Joe: Droid X ...Superb App! I downloaded iBird Yard Plus several days ago, and I must say I am duly impressed! The downloading and syncing was flawless (I chose the "sync all" option) and was completed in about 5 minutes. The first thing I did was to sit on my back porch and try out the "call" feature. I chose the Carolina Wren call and I was utterly amazed that in less than 30 seconds I had two wrens on my porch within 3 feet of my chair. I have tried this several time since with complete success. Learning the "search" feature is a little tricky and I have found that the descriptions must be very accurate, particularly when it comes to size. Obviously there's a learning curve here. I am completely satisfied so far and most especially with the $.99 price. So much so that I just downloaded iBird Pro to take advantage of the $2.99 anniversary price! Will review it in another post after I have had time to check it out. |

[2011-07-13] jeff: Phenomonal app. Should add a search that determines what birds range is in the location your standing to narrow down the possibilities. |
[2011-07-08] Geral: DON'T BUY THIS! No help from developer after numerous emails-what a thief. Audubon is WAY better than this POS. |
[2011-05-24] belyle: Generally pretty good. The ui is a bit clunky, but the data is useful. I like the images and bird calls, but would like some better search options. |
[2011-05-10] AEO: Vry disappointed- it's a crappy iphone port w/ useless iphone buttons & incorrect screen dimensions. Audobon bird guide is WAY betr. Evo, 2.2 |
[2011-04-30] Mike: Almost there Firstly, there is nothing "explained in Note 1 at the bottom of this description" regarding storage on your SD card. That info is missing here and on the developer's website. There is no "move to SD card" option under application management, either. 18mb required in system memory is way too much. Other than that, the application is excellent. |
[2011-03-04] Al: Still can't move to SD. Great otherwise. N1 2.3.3 |
[2011-02-18] et: I love the bird songs. My vision is such that I cannot locate but still wish to know what I am hearing. Lovely to identify and see the picture. |
[2011-02-15] John: Works perfect on Droid and Galaxy. Best recordings from Cornell, great search, photos, maps. How about GPS? |
[2011-01-28] leslie: Really? Only the birds thru B have pictures and sound. Do not buy. Droid X Email twice. No response. |
[2011-01-05] the 1/9/2011 : Excellent app... love the pictures, sounds, maps, descriptions, etc. Works great on HTC EVO... but consider iBird Pro, it's even better. |

[2010-09-26] vinny: Great app. Would love if you could seperate by region. Droid Eris. 2.1 froyo |
[2010-09-22] Steven: Great app, but not for serious birders. Only 200+ species. Luckily, iBird Pro is available for $20. It has over 900 species... worth every penny! |
[2010-08-22] 3sideslive: Awesome! Thanks! |
[2010-08-22] royce: Worjs now for droid x. Awesome |
[2010-08-12] royce: Wont install on my droid x for same reason- asking for wireless connection despite havig one already. |
[2010-08-08] Karen: Would not installl on my i1. Said it needed wireless connection when it had one already. Disappointed. |

[2010-07-12] Paul: Love it, but I needed to hear some thrushes the other day to ID one and they weren't in there. More species please or full version. |
[2010-07-10] Thomas: Unable to download and install to Droid Incredible |
[2010-07-07] Mateo, Tayo, Scolas, Scolassimo, Sligo: amazing app, but needs more species. I'd love more warblers, specifically. |
[2010-07-03] Maya: Comprehensive, detailed & user-friendly search. Nice UI.Drawback: too few birds. Only 117 in MA v 254 online. Undermines value. Not sure if worth $$. |
[2010-07-01] Ari Stern: Feels like a half-hearted port of the (outstanding) iPhone version, with a very mediocre selection of species. |
