Crashes I was able to download all content with no problem, but the app crashed within a minute of starting. Reopened, crashed again. Even the "report the problem" froze. However, I eventually learned that it only seems to happen on my device when using the "next" and "previous" buttons. Fourth time I tried it, I was able to keep on browsing the flowers by avoiding those buttons. Hope this helps someone else to use it, because it really is a good resource.

Wildflowers issues This is a known issue with the app downloading the plants etc. There are many complaints about database failing to download issues and force close on the 'play store' comments. App = Audubon wildflowers. Phone = original verizon droid. OS version = Android V. 2.3.4 The app is on the sdcard. SDcard has 2.5GB remaining of 14.93GB. App aborts/shutsdown during download all content anywhere between 7% and 41% of the 758MB file. They need to make the effort to fix this product. It brings shame on Audubon that they have lent their good name to this product. In fact I plan to copy Audubon about this issue.

Taxonomy pictures The bird, insects and mushroom guids all have pictures next to the order or family name. Would it be so hard to do the same for trees, mammals and flowers?

Wrong icon - yet again, really? The authors of this app have fixed (at least on my phone) the icon issues on Birds, Mushrooms, and Mammals - yea. But wait there's more - Trees, Butterflys, and Wildflowers remain flawed - boo. Now I get the same random icon with "Florida Nature" on it for all three of the newly purchased apps. Come on folks, you are better programmers that that.

Frustrating You cant use this app or Audubon's tree app for more than two minutes before it crashes. And it takes a good while to load. Wish there were more species for both apps seeing how its digital.

Great idea but crashes I have Birds, trees, and mammals from the same company and they run well. However this program crashes over and over again on my Dell Streak.

Can't download content After many attempts, I still can't download offline content. After each error, I have to uninstall and reinstall to try again.

Forces close Slows look up of one plant then forces close--every time I use it. I have several other of these Audubon guide apps and this is the only one doing this

Doesn't work on my Defy Icon won't show up in my program page. Database won't download completely. Unusable for me, saddly. It sounds so promising.

Wish it would work. Force closing at startup and when browsing search results. Also this app is very slow with HTC Incredible after downloading the Wildflowers db. Wish I could download partial db by region. Noobs need to take time to learn parts of flowers and what various environments are to answer the search criteria. Uninstalling.

The best Perfect installation on G2 running 800ghz processor. All of large database is installed on memory card. Easy & comprehensive.

Okay, but fails to use your location A smart phone deserves a smart app, but this one doesn't quite measure up. Your phone knows where you are, and a good app will make use of that fact to filter the info you're looking for. So, instead of making you scroll through dozens of flowers that don't even occur in your location, the app should sort the choices to give you the likeliest ones first. While the "advanced search" function allows you to narrow the results by region, it would be easier and more precise if the app automatically keyed into your GPS. Green Mountain's Audubon Birds suffers from the same deficiency. Unfortunately, there aren't any competing apps, so I'll stick with this one till a better one comes along. Also, while an app like this can't include every flower, I was amazed that it omits Oregon-grape, which is ubiquitous in Northwest forests and is the Oregon state flower. Any flower app should at least include all the state flowers.

problematic checkboxes Lots of good info in this app. But it misuses checkboxes in its Advanced Search by applying AND logic when OR is standard for checkboxes. This makes Advanced Search very difficult to use. For example, say I'm uncertain whether the flower color is blue or purple. Blue alone would give me 157 results. Purple alone would give me 389. By selecting both blue and purple, I get only those flowers that in fact are listed with BOTH colors, just 111 results. ARRGGHHH! This makes Advanced Search almost worthless.
