[2012-02-11] soo: No audio This would be the bomb if audio worked. What a shame. HTC Desire s |
[2012-02-05] Josh: A great language tool Helps me maintain my foreign language vocabulary |
[2012-02-04] DDC: Very helpful Best flash card software in the world! |
[2012-01-31] ipsumoto: good app, but there are some glitches |
[2012-01-29] Robert: Best flashcard app! The best flashcard app. I've been using it to study Thai. However, I can't get sounds or images to work on Android. |
[2012-01-27] punisama: Hands down best for kanji flashcards I've been using Anki for over two years now and have become progressively more impressed with it as it's matured. Only problem I ever had with FCs ended up being a problem with my SD card being corrupted, and I've used it on Froyo, Gingerbread, and ICS devices. It's currently running flawlessly on my Galaxy Nexus. I love the fact that there are so many options for customizing cards/reviews, although finding all the relevant features can be overwhelming after a major upgrade since things are sometimes relocated to totally new locations in the interface. One gripe is that syncing is manual. I'd really appreciate an auto-sync feature that would update the cloud copy on completing a session or exiting the app. But what's really great is the Japanese plugin in the associated desktop application that autogenerates the furigana readings for kanji flashcards. It makes creation of japanese vocabulary cards extremely fast and simple on a WinPC. ...in fact, that's my only remaining criticism of AnkiDroid...being that I've started using an Android tab as a laptop replacement, I'd really love seeing a similar feature available for the card creator in AnkiDroid. |
[2012-01-25] Richard: Needs an update for ICS I had this when I had gingerbread and loved it. Never had a single problem. One of the main reasons I chose another android was for this program but the ICS version is REALLY buggy. -It crashes daily. -For whatever reason, about 75% of the time the settings button does not show up when I'm doing reviews so I can't edit cards as I go. -Unlike the GB version, this one did not prompt me to choose "sync from local" and I lost 100 flashcards during a sync. -Backups don't work right and I can't find a way to actually restore from backup. I had to make a whole new deck and load it from my computer, sync from computer, then sync the new deck onto my droid... -I'm getting some kind of database error now from the ankidroid PC program. -When browsing card lists, the sort option does not work (when sorting by date) Despite all this I would say it's still the best flashcard program out there. If you're not on ICS I highly recommend it. If you ARE on ICS then I still recommend it but be careful and expect to get a little frustrated but the good is worth the bad. When I get an update that fixes some of these problems I will edit my review back up to a 5. |
[2012-01-17] John-fr: Spaced repitition does all the card planning for you! It's awesome! (Market is cluttered with frivolous FC programs lacking SR.) Thanks Nicolas! |
[2012-01-17] TenPhil: Great app w/good pedigree This is a great app, with a good base from the crossplatform desktop app. |
[2012-01-16] Marcus: Top! I use Anki desktop since 2 years. Whit this app I can download, sync and use my decks on my new Xiao Mi Android phone. And it's for free. Great. Thank you! |
[2012-01-16] Quang Anh: Okay. You should make it import cards from files, and the Shared Decks database has never loaded to me. How about connecting it to Quizlet? |
[2012-01-12] nutty: Mr Very good app with a huge database of cards available for free download... Well done sir! |
[2012-01-11] Sean: Best program of its kind This is an excellent spaced repetition program even among its kind, and best of all, it's free! This developer deserves a bit of income from the hard work. The free storage for decks and syncing is also incredibly generous. Only complaint about the android version is the lack of a useful widget i.e. one that allows you to flip through flashcards without opening the program. Other than that it's perfect. |
[2012-01-11] Joshua: Very useful college study tool. Use it to create notes on my PC and sync to my phone for studying on the go. |
[2012-01-11] Sharo93: Audio Problem Great program unfortunately most of the decks I have contain audio ,which doesn't get played I'm on Nexus S ICS 4.0.3 |
[2012-01-09] Dan: Fantastic flashcards app Even better than anymemo thanks to the desktop + web client and sync. Needs curated decks though |
[2012-01-08] smubo: Great app. Unfortunately crashes quite often on launch on my system. Once it runs, there are no problems what so ever. |
[2012-01-06] Alex: Great idea but buggy - does not show images !!! Some bugs. 1) Does not show pictures. I tried the same deck as on the screenshot - does not work. 2) Cancelling deck download hangs forever, need to restart the phone. |
[2012-01-04] Royal: So so |
[2012-01-04] ally: The best Had to re install to fix widgets. Disappointed by lack of response but still a great app! |
[2012-01-04] aelfwyne: A bit buggy still. Promising but still a few bugs to work out. |
[2012-01-04] Garrett: Good Seems cool but I don't think there's a way to add flash cars from other websites which would be very nice. |
[2012-01-03] Ram: Impressive app Great quality app for studying anywhere anytime |
[2012-01-03] Sergei: Good app But has a few annoying bugs |
[2012-01-02] Dominic: Fantastic, and free! The Anki app on iPhone and iPad is £17.49! Yet another reason to go Android... |
[2011-12-30] Tom: Great for learning anything you can put on cards I've been using Anki & Ankidroid for over a year, mostly for the Russian Language as a companion to my night classes. It's great to make a custom deck on the computer with free Anki software, then practice/review wherever and whenever on my phone. It works best if you make your own deck. The quality of the free shared decks is spotty, and they're not super easy to browse, but there are some good ones. If you're serious about learning a subject you'd probably want to make your own decks anyway. I'm knocking it to 4 stars because the sync service could handle multiple device sync collisions better, but the new version does auto backups, so I think it's better than it used to be. Just sync often if you use Anki/Ankidroid on multiple devices. |
[2011-12-29] Carolina: Luv it! It's accually fun after awile :) |
[2011-12-28] Zetro: Stupid rotation... The rotation is extremely irritating. If I want it to rotate I would turn on system rotation. An app like this have no need to modify and force rotation changes. Otherwise great. |
[2011-12-27] NullCascade: Study Saviour A must have study application for any student or professional. |
[2011-12-22] Miguel Ventura: Best app for learning stuff |
[2011-12-22] Lyise: Amazing app I use this application every day and it's incredibly useful. Works wonderfully alongside ankiweb as well. |
[2011-12-21] David: Keeps turning sideways Needs an option to lock it in portrait mode, not just when looking at a card, ALL the time |
[2011-12-21] Niles: Awesome The best app for learning anything, hands down. |
[2011-12-19] Matt: The Best Great app for learning Scriptures and Bible questions. |
[2011-12-17] Zachary: Used to work great... Used to work great, but now I cannot load any of my decks! Also some cards in certain decks do not display at all. |
[2011-12-15] Jeff: Update ruined it! since the update my cards which are still there will not show in the review mode... :( |
[2011-12-14] anholt: Half-baked Images on cards not displayed. Text is fine. |
[2011-12-11] Todd: Just what I needed This has greatly accelerated my Mongolian language learning. Terrific app! |
[2011-12-11] Ibrahim: . Nice try but the desktop app is way too confusing ... lacks ability to do super- and sub-script |
[2011-12-10] martinjlogan: Great Now syncs with ankiweb what more does a person need? |
[2011-12-10] Zac: The best review tool. I have used them all an this is by far the best. Thank you so much for this! |
[2011-12-10] Sándor: Previous version was fine Oh no! I updated, but I faced several issues with the new release: card browser isn't updated after adding and anki stayes in memory after exit. |
[2011-12-06] Md: Could not be any better. Wonderful app. I specially like the Arabic workaround. It made me able to learn Arabic in my Samsung galaxy s. Hope that this improves more in future. |
[2011-12-03] azin: i checked several flashcard apps and this one is the best. This is the true power of open source apps |
[2011-12-02] Nicolas: Amazing This new update is amazing. Great app. |
[2011-12-01] Stopa: Latest update messed up big time I love ankidroid and use it every day but the latest update really messed things up for me. Not only does the widget not work at all - always shows "no cards due" no matter what but it also keeps alerting me to "63 cards due" even when there are really no cards due. I hope this gets fixed soon. |
[2011-11-30] tmkelley: Not ready for prime time Several features are not implemented, most notably images. |
[2011-11-29] rhea137: Xxx I've checked all and this one is the best. |
[2011-11-29] Matthias: Super Nice program! Much better than anymemo. |
[2011-11-29] photonist: Awesome incredible! I ve been an anki user for a while and dont understand why it isnt the top 1 education app in mobile market and last update is awesome |
[2011-11-28] Tony: Brilliant |
[2011-11-28] pwnall: Very useful and convenient I use Anki daily, and this app can sync and go through decks. |
[2011-11-27] Tyler: Love it. But after the new update the widget show no new cards due even when there are. |
[2011-11-27] Doug: Great program Like new widget though wish it was smaller so that it matched the size of others better-similar to shortcut icon. I think you could still read #s ok. |
[2011-11-27] unsignedzero: Learning anything? This is probably the best app for learning anything on Android. There are many flash card sets available from the get-go and you can make more of them, and sync it with other devices. YP-G70 |
[2011-11-26] William Gross: The best app on Android This app has done more for my productivity than any other...helping me through the CFA, FRM, Russian, and Mandarin. It's the reason I bought a tablet. |
[2011-11-26] the 11/26/2011 Perfect update, well done! Thus, widget seems to be a bit buggy |
[2011-11-26] Dustin 'DT': Best memorization tool ever! Don't know if I would have passed a&p without it!! |
[2011-11-26] David: Awesome app Easy to use and work's great. Cards are easy to create and edit with Anki software. Best flashcard app I've seen. |
[2011-11-25] dsh: I'd like to pay Excellent app! I use it every day for learning a foreign language. I'd like to pay for this app. How could I do it? |
[2011-11-24] Ultracloud: Gr8 but... I'd love to see phonetics support in the next updates. I use it to learn English vocabulary, but I sometimes need to check for proper pronunciation. |
[2011-11-23] Zsolt: Doesnt work an defy Always force close when I want to download or sync decks... |
[2011-11-23] Derrick: Best study app period It's Anki on your smartphone, nuff said. Syncing is fast and effortless. Along with the desktop program I can now review my Spanish wherever I go. Get this app! |
[2011-11-22] the 11/23/2011 no latex support it gives a error for latex flashcards |
[2011-11-20] Jonathon: Sync? For some reason the sync seems to work only partially. My cards needing review are strangely off by one. |
[2011-11-19] Patty: Best portable multi-platform study tool I love Supermemo but decided to shift to Anki instead since I am mobile most of the time and do not have the luxury of bringing a netbook everywhere I go. Ankidroid/Anki imported all my Supermemo files successfully and I can now study with my PC, android phone, android tablet anywhere and anytime! I use it for my medical studies and can quickly kill 1000+ flashcards in a day with ease! The only complaint I have with Ankidroid is the editor which is in html and not wysiwyg version. Hope this changes soon. |
[2011-11-18] the 11/19/2011 Really great I use this app daily. Excellent. Works perfectly with the desktop version. A must have for students. |

[2011-11-09] Rik: Thank you so much! I have used Anki for years, and finally decided to get a used Android phone, in large-part so I could review cards anywhere. This app works really well. Great job! Fellow users: consider making a donation to the developer of Anki, from which Ankidroid is derived. Spaced-repetition is the future of learning :) |
