Before buying a car, it is a good ideea to check the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). Use VIN Decoder to:

- check a car's equipment, production year, country of origin, etc.
- check if the VIN is valid

You shouldn't rely only on this program before buying a car. You should also check the VIN at a local dealership.

WARNING! Please be avare that this program is NOT 100% accurate. Some car manufacturers do not use the same VIN structure every time and some other car manufacturers use the same code for different models or engines. If you find some inconsistency between your car make/model and what the program shows you, I would appreciate if you would send an email with the VIN (except last 6 characters) in order to improve this program.
