TextWarrior (v. 0.92) Разработано MyopicMobile |
TextWarrior is a text editor that rethinks how editing can be done on a touch screen. Annoyed at accidentally moving the cursor or bringing up the virtual keyboard when scrolling? Tired of doing finger gymnastics to position the cursor? TextWarrior lets you customize text editing to the way you want it to be and more.
Besides all the usual features of text editors, TextWarrior offers 5(!) unique ways to fine-tune the cursor position. Especially helpful for those who are using devices without a hardware keyboard or stylus. While we are at it, why not add syntax highlighting for programming languages and a slideable clipboard. Best of all, TextWarrior is free and open-source! No internet permissions required for pesky ads.
Selected features:
* The only Android text editor that supports direct touch and drag selection of text and other custom behaviors
* 5 cursor navigation methods to choose from
* Word wrap (new!)
* In-place search and replace. Case-sensitive and match whole word options
* Slideable clipboard
* Syntax highlighting for C, C++, C#, Java, Javascript, Objective-C, PHP, Python and Ruby
* Word and character count
* Long press of a hardware keyboard key can capitalize a letter
* Auto-indent
* Visible whitespace
* Configurable tab width, text size and font
* Recent file history
* Undo/redo
* Supports ASCII, Latin-1, UTF-8 and UTF-16 encodings
* Supports different line terminator styles

TextWarrior is a community-driven project. Usability is at the forefront and if you have any suggestions or feedback to making text editing easier, drop us an email. Android Market comments cannot be replied to.
Compatibility note: If the Shift and Alt keys do not seem to work on your physical keyboard, try holding the keys down as you would on a regular computer keyboard. This is because some manufacturers have not updated their device software to the Android 2.0 method of hardware key input.

[2012-12-07] A Google User: The app deleted an entire content of my file When the phone accidentaly unmounted my memory card, the app overwrote the SAVED file on the memory card with an empty file, causing me to lose weeks of work. I can live with the constant crashes and the loss of a small amount of UNSAVED data, but deleting an entire saved file is simply unacceptable. Uninstalling. |

[2012-11-16] A Google User: Great |
[2012-11-11] A Google User: For making this... You are godly. |
[2012-08-24] A Google User: Sweet! Thank you!! |
[2012-08-18] A Google User: This app isn't perfect for authors, but it succeds where SkyArts Editor fails in creating easily locatable documents. |
[2012-08-15] A Google User: This is the one! Been searching for a cut & paste app for weeks and none of them did what I needed - which was cut & paste. This one works great. Hurry, get it NOW! |
[2012-08-07] A Google User: Great! Amazing. Definitely a hidden gem. Haha. Dave: Open the pod bay doors, HAL. HAL: Im sorry Dave, im afraid I cant do that. |
[2012-07-30] A Google User: I like it ^^ |
[2012-07-27] A Google User: Pretty good, but quirky and no SU Navigation is a bit quirky - won't let me use the optical joystick/trackball on my HTC Droid Incredible and text selection can be difficult. Other than that, it works better than the others I have tried so far. Would give it 4/5 if it had a su (superuser) option, so I could edit preference files etc. on my rooted phone without it just telling me it couldn't open the file. |
[2012-06-24] A Google User: G I like |
[2012-06-08] A Google User: No ctrl-arrow navigation Doesn't have ctrl-arrow navigation that I rely on. |
[2012-05-20] A Google User: Wow. Doesn't seem to understand text entry at all. Maybe needs an ICS update? |
[2012-05-02] A Google User: Really nice. Easy to use. Solid app. Could use some more syntax highlighting languages (XML needed!!!). |
[2012-04-16] A Google User: No work with swipe No work with swipe. No word wrap. Scroll not effective with large files. |
[2012-04-05] A Google User: Had a nasm after days of looking for notepad. Perfect, stores files where and how i say and works with file manager. Most traditional notepad options available. Still want NP++ but this is a 5r. |
[2012-04-04] A Google User: Not Compatible With Virtual Keyboards While useful for what I wanted it for, Text Warrior is not compatible with my onscreen keyboard... the text that I type disappears behind the keyboard with no way to scroll down to see what I'm typing... My score will rise when some sort of work around is created. |
[2012-04-03] A Google User: Two thumbs up Huff...finally i found this gorgeous application. |
[2012-03-30] A Google User: Best text editor I've used. |
[2012-02-17] A Google User: Excellent! |
[2012-02-17] A Google User: . Excellent. Needs to remember the last directory and needs a share menu |
[2012-02-10] A Google User: Good, but... Needs support for rtf or doc files, and does not display correct characters (ex " turns into ?) in txt files. Wish I could find an actual word processor... |
[2012-02-07] A Google User: Nice app Kewel |
[2012-02-02] A Google User: Fantastic for what I needed The only recommendation for a feature would be to allow auto detect of the syntax highlighting mode based on file extension. For viewing files with the highlighting on it is great, heaven't really scratched the surface of everything else out can do yet. |
[2012-01-19] A Google User: Potentially good, but... Introduces invalid chars for android builds. |
[2012-01-08] A Google User: Thank you Its been 2 hours. Ty finally found one |
[2012-01-03] A Google User: Arc s Almost beats olive office by supporting swype horizontal keyboard but cant seem to save files as .doc format, thus rendering it pointless. |
[2011-12-26] A Google User: Amazing did just what I wanted This is the best app for. Js files and others of extreme sizes, I was looking for an app like this for hours! |
[2011-12-25] A Google User: excellent has all i need so far. best yet |
[2011-12-15] A Google User: Camel cases everything Apparently the dev is too retarded to try the app to the most basic feature--typing. Who knew! |
[2011-12-07] A Google User: unfortunate doesn't work with SwiftKey and double-tap selection is flaky at best. was a good idea but lacks followthrough by devs. |
[2011-12-07] A Google User: potential this would be an awesome word document app, but there are no margin settings, APA formating options, I can only use this for it's word counting abilities. Cursor is great on Asus Transformer(original) add more to this app, glad it's free. But it is surely promising. |
[2011-11-17] A Google User: No syntax highlighting for html? Seriously? Otherwise decent. |
[2011-11-09] A Google User: Point(er)less Cursor is unpredictable at best. Typing is functional, but editing is a nightmare. HTC Incredible. |
[2011-10-28] A Google User: On Xperia mini pro (full keyboard) Caps lock fail Looked promising but when 'Aa' is active it never switches to small letters after the first. All then capitalized = annoying |
[2011-10-14] A Google User: Highlight fail None of the cursors allow me to highlight text effectively. Using Swype on an LG Optimus V, highlighting text is essential for correcting words. |
[2011-10-12] A Google User: Great App Exactly what I was looking for. Nice and simple for basic txt notes. Perfect. |
[2011-10-03] A Google User: Scroll problem Landscape view eventually causes text to appear behind the keyboard and there's no way to scroll down to see what you're typing. *On Droid incredible |
[2011-10-02] A Google User: Great! I've tried so many editors before this one. I use with "Hacker's Keyboard" for code editing. |
[2011-09-26] A Google User: Didnt think that it was very good... |
[2011-09-17] A Google User: Great to have a functioning text editor, copy paste, easy text selection. Great App. |
[2011-09-16] A Google User: Great app, wrote my dissertation outline using this. Auto-save is huge improvement. |
[2011-09-13] A Google User: Text Editor I've Needed The keyboard is still slow, but this now allows real typing for simple text documents. |
[2011-08-29] A Google User: Awesome Its great, like notepad++ or gedit for the android. |
[2011-08-29] T-dub: Awesome Its great, like notepad++ or gedit for the android. |
[2011-08-21] A Google User: Open source... and shut The interface is good, but apparently task switching is too much to ask. When you come back, you find that the app has abruptly lost all your unsaved changes, "probably" due to "low memory," but more likely due to a serious flaw in the code. I wish I'd figured this out before I lost over 30 minutes of hard work and sure, I might blame myself. But I'm afraid that an unadvertised need to save compulsively on *the* definitive, task-switching mobile OS is a serious enough shortcoming to earn you 1 star. |

[2011-08-20] Paul: good app |
[2011-08-18] A Google User: very useful when reviewing codes and doing quick edits on the go. not helpful when creating codes from scratch unless you have a dedicated keyboard. |

[2011-08-08] A Google User: Best source code editor for Android tablets This is the best source code editor available in the market today for Android tablets. It works really well on a Xoom tablet. The syntax highlighting feature worked well for Python code. The application provides several different innovative methods for navigating through the text. I really enjoy using the trackpad technique. Selection of text is a lot easier using this app as compared to the native method provided by Android. Feature request: increase/decrease indentation of selected text and SL4A support. |

[2011-07-13] A Google User: So close to being the best basic text editor out there. Works with and saves standard txt files etc. However the lack of word wrap really is a pity. |

[2011-07-12] A Google User: No documentation - not even how to find a file once saved. Even the best UI can't overcome that. |

[2011-06-10] A Google User: This is simple the best text editor ever. After the last update loving the volume keys to move the cursor. Works very well with Hacker's Keyboard on a phone. Could do with full screen mode in landscape though. Thanks 5*. |
