Stats Calc (v. 1.2.1) Разработано AEI Design |
Stats Calc is a great portable statistics app with diverse functionality.
Features include:
Basic Statistics
- Calculates common descriptive functions including, but not limited to: mean, median, mode, standard deviation, and standard error from a data series.
Linear Regression
- Plots data from a data series and includes best-fit line
- Provides common information about the line including but not limited to equation of the line, slope, y-intercept, R^2
Permutations/Combinations
- Calculates the number of permutations and combinations with and without repetition as well as the number of subsets in the set
Distributions
Calculates the following:
- Gaussian (z-score) *WITH TABLE
- Poisson
- Bernoulli
- Chi Squared * WITH TABLE
- T * WITH TABLE
Data Management
- Input data series for use within the application
- Saves and loads data series as comma separated values (csv)
Help Section
- Detailed help glossary for each function.

[2012-06-17] A Google User: Mostly good I haven't checked every function yet, however, it should be pointed out that the Standard Deviation and Variance (based on Std Dev) but the Population Standard Deviation and associated Variance. What the app calculates is not incorrect, but it is not labeled properly. AFAIK there is no way to calculate the former, more common calculation using this app. |

[2012-01-31] A Google User: good for a free app, a few kinks to work out The data management has a few slight kinks to work out - doesn't remember the current data when I calculate descriptive statistics and then return to data management. The descriptive statistics of {1,2,3,4,5} calculated lower quartile of 1.5 and upper quartile of 3.5 which is clearly wrong - not symmetric around 3. Trying again with data {1,2,3} calculated lower quartile of 0 and upper quartile of 0 - clearly the Dev should check the algorithm. The formula for standard deviation uses the N formula. The app should also calculate the deviation with N-1 formula, which is used more often for a sample estimating a population. The descriptive statistics help is too generic, it doesn't specify what formula is used for standard deviation and doesn't specify what algorithm is used for quartiles - there are many with slightly different results for discrete data. |
