This application turns off the screen by setting screen brightness to zero (save battery) and simulates the screen turn off (screen lock) function. Press "Unlock Key" of your device to unlock.

There are many similar applications available in the market with 0.99$+ but 'Screen Off' is absolutely free with no Ads.
For many this app doesn't make any sense and look stupid (including myself) but when I saw few similar applications in the market with 0.99$+, I thought to have it so other users get free.

If it takes too much time to wake the phone up then press call end & home button or power/screen on-off button.

Caution : This application is not working/takes too much time to wake the phone up but unfortunately, I can't do much about it as I've tested with application on Samsung S, HTC Desire HD, etc and working fine. Sorry guys...:(

Not bad. But need to have option to hide icon name. Also to change icon size and color if possible. To turn screen on need to push twice on Captivate.

Those who don't see why this is useful obviously doesn't have one of the phones with wifi that goes glitchy with screen off.

It dims the screen as stated but it doesn't disable the soft keys on the phone (home,menu,back,search). So these keys are still active.

Working good on Xperia X10, the only problem is that the screen blinks after about 8 seconds then it goes off as expected. Hope to see fix for this.
