Gassy Girl is a simple gas mileage tracker and reporting tool that I developed for myself.

I carry my phone around with me, take just a couple of minutes to fill in an entry whenever I fill up my car's tank, and thus have a nice history of when I've gotten gas, as well as what my car's mileage has been.

I decided to make Gassy Girl and its source code available under libre licensing terms (GNU GPL v3) in case anyone else wants to use or make modifications to it.

It also supports importing and exporting of data so that you can easily migrate to and from Gassy Girl; see the next section for details on the file format.


Import data format
------------------
If you wish to import data from another gas mileage tracking
application, select "Import Data" from the Gassy Girl main menu. Upon selecting this option, you will be prompted to indicate which file contains the desired data. That file must be in the following format:

-The file must contain one gas mileage entry per line
-Each element of each entry must be separated by a comma
-The elements of each entry must be in this order:
-Date (in the format "YYYY-MM-DD")
-Trip odometer (example: 236.7)
-Gallons (example: 13.7)
-$ per gallon (example: 2.41)
-Odometer (optional, example: 295)

"Odometer" is an optional field, if the entry does not contain an odometer value, simply omit that item from the entry.

Here is a sample entry line with an odometer field:
2010-04-11,236.7,13.7,2.41,295

Here is a sample entry line without an odometer field:
2010-04-11,236.7,13.7,2.41

Playwright description from Wikipedia:

A playwright, also known as a dramatist, is a person who writes dramatic literature or drama. These works are usually written to be performed in front of a live audience by actors. They may also be closet dramas or literary works written using dramatic forms but not meant for performance.
The term is not a variant spelling of "playwrite", but something quite distinct: the word wright is an archaic English term for a craftsman or builder (as in a wheelwright or cartwright). Hence the prefix and the suffix combine to indicate someone who has wrought words, themes, and other elements into a dramatic form, someone who crafts plays.

Play Formats:

Full-length play: Generally, two or three acts with an act break (intermission or interval) that marks some kind of structural or time shift. Usually divided into scenes that are often defined by shifts in time and place. This type of structure is called episodic. Episodic plays often contain scene changes and require careful attention to transitions to maintain flow and continuity. Classical structure entails a more causal relationship between units and is often defined by the unity of time, place, and/or action. The latter is often marked by the Late Point of Attack whereas the former involves an Early Point of Attack. Point of Attack refers to the point in the story where the play begins. Late point of attack plays are generally reactions to an event that has already occurred, or to an outcome that is imminent. In Early point of attack, the play reveals itself as it goes along in the action.
Short play: A more popular format recently, the short play removes the intermission and generally runs over an hour but less than an hour-and-a-half.
One-act play: A useful form for experimental work (the absurdists made the form popular) with less reliance on character development and arc. Generally, under an hour in length.
10-minute play: Popularized over the past 20 years and now a staple of most play festivals, and many play contests. Takes on a number of approaches from traditional conflict-driven to very experimental. Useful in playwriting workshops and with beginning playwrights since the format requires rigor, yet can be processed or produced without onerous technical requirements.

In Call Payments by Cayenne Graphics SRL is an Android application that allows users to send money to or request money from anyone they are talking to on the phone. Both parties must have a valid PayPal account and a compatible phone or tablet (running Android 2.0 or newer).



The payer only needs to enter the amount and a quick note to the recipient (if necessary). The application takes care of identifying the recipient and uses the PayPal Adaptive Payments API to execute the payment on behalf of the payer.



When requesting a payment, the requester fills in the requested amount and an explanation for the request. The payer can approve the payment as-is or alter the amount before sending.



The In Call Payments interface is invoked by a long press on the Search key of the Android phone at any time during a call.



The payer does not need network connectivity (GPRS or WiFi) when sending a payment, communication is done via cryptographically-signed text messages. The payee must have network connectivity in order to verify the cryptographic signature of the text message and claim the payment (instruct the server to execute the payment and debit the payer's account).



Users can choose to either pay a $0.50 transaction fee for each payment sent via In Call Payments or view an ad on the "Send Payment" page. This setting can be changed at any time in the application configuration page.



The application does not require 3G connectivity, it operates over any GSM network. All payment data is exchanged through cryptographically-signed SMS messages.
