If you encounter issues on installing Pimlical/Android, first check out the FAQ’s on the TechSupport tab of www.pimlicosoftware.com or go to the support forum at: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Pimlical
Best of all, all the profits go to the benefit of Wildlife Conservation, as CESD also manages the only private AZA-certified facility in the world for Gorillas (yes, gorillas! – see www.dewarwildlife.org).
[2012-10-12] Scott: FINALLY !! I am so excited to finally have this wonderful app on my Android. I have used this app for years prior to my droid and wrote an email two years ago asking for this... nice to see it here and I fully recommend you purchase this app. You will find this to be THEE BEST calendar app out there, try it for yourself and see. To the developer(s) a big "Thank You". |

[2012-10-11] BotanicalPam: Palm users and others - here it is! Along with a gazillion other Palm users, I relied on this calendar for years as the best one available for Palms. I am ecstatic that it is finally available on the Android platform. It has many features, but my FAVORITE is the appt option for a Floating Event on your calendar, so if you don't specifically check it off, it automatically advances to the next day appts. My Android is just about complete! (Now, if I could just get ToDo Plus on Android, I think it would be perfect!) Great job, PimlicalA!!! |

[2012-10-11] Michelle: Finally I had datebook and loved it. One reluctance in moving to a smart phone was losing the calendar. Now, my phone is complete. |
[2012-10-11] Tom: Long time paying Palm customer, happy to buy this versi8n to support author. |

[2012-10-10] Fernando: Best app ever This is not only the best calendar, this is the best app ever. Back when I had a Palm I took it for granted that all calendars would understand that every time must have a time zone, that sometimes you want events at times that are valid for whatever time zone you are in, that calendar information older than 60 days can be more valuable to you than next year's events, that you indeed can display useful information in a calendar monthly view, and much more. When I gave up my Palm for a Blackberry I assumed I would soon find a calendar as good as DateBk. I was WRONG. Eventually I gave up the BB in favor of an Android, in part because of a better calendar. Better, but not great. Only recently did Google finally accept that events can have different starting and ending time zones (apparently early calendar writers had never flown). DateBk had this all figured out a decade ago. Pimlical, while not yet perfect, is a terrific app for the Android -- and for the Desktop. The support provided by Pimlical is extraordinary. OK, Pimlical can be a bit intimidating at first, but once you get the hang of it, it will become the best app you ever downloaded. Easily worth 10 times the price. |

[2012-10-09] ScottW: Must have calendar application I rely on this application so much that I paid for it twice. Wide range of options that give me the views and information that I need. I use Pimlical every day and use primarily 2 views - month w/ icon and a 4 days. I love the power and flexibility that Pimlical provides. I sync Pimlical with my corporate Exchange calendar and dont use Google calendar or the Pim desktop app. Like other reviewers I have been using a calendar app like this since Datebk3. |
[2012-10-09] Paul: Indispensable I've been using Pimlical and its predecessor for years. The UI isn't the prettiest but if you're willing to make the effort to learn it, nothing else comes close in terms of power and flexibility. Steuart, the developer, is very responsive and helping gorillas is a wonderful added bonus. Highly recommended. |
[2012-10-08] PeterHumphris: Congratulations! Having used Datebk on my previous Palm OS devices since 1997, I am delighted to see its successor available for Android phones and tablets. It really is the best I've used and have no hesitation in recommending Pimlical for Android. |
[2012-10-08] Mark: The best Calendar app When you look at the Calendar Applications available in Google Play, this is the best. You can set appointments in dissimilar time zones, the app understands it. If you travel in the US, cell carriers change the time zones, the app understands what timezone you are presently in and adjusts the appointments in the calendar. You can color your meetings by calendar group, add icons to the calendar entry or group. Sync to Google Calendar or use a Direct Sync mechanism for accessing your personal database - Requires the Desktop client. Remember this is the replacement for Palm Datebk. |
[2012-10-07] William: This app is the reason I chose Android It's the worthy successor to the DateBk that was essential to Palm. Among the wealth of fine-tuning features, the one I find indispensable is "floats" -- to-do reminders that show up at the top of the calendar every day until I mark them completed. Support is superb, and the developer's proceeds support the Dewar Wildlife Trust. |
[2012-10-07] Rojo: The most robust calendar ThIs is the most robust calendar for any OS. There is a learning curve but the effort is worth it. Pimlical group on yahoo is a large and friendly group that is a great resource. On top of all is the support for a gorilla haven. |

[2012-10-07] Jacques: Better than 5 stars! The availability of Pimlical for Android is the primary reason I prefer Android OS devices to iPhone. It is by far the best and most flexible and configurable calendar app available for Android, and I've tested them all. I used its Palm OS predecessor, Datebk, in versions 2-6, and Pimlical Android is the only Android app that even comes close to Datebk6 functionality, plus it can be used stand-alone or sync either to Google Calendar or by direct, non-cloud usb or wireless sync to its companion desktop Pimlical, or both. The review by Hook, above, echoes my opinion, but I would add that although Pimlical is feature super-rich and configurable, it is not *only* for power users, the regular user-on-the-street will find it excellent in default mode, and can then read the built -in and online (extensive and steadily improving) documentation at leisure to gain increased power if desired. And, part of the purchase price helps support Dewar Wildlife, a unique facility in the Blue Ridge Mountains for care and protection of born-in-captivity gorillas. If there were more than 5 stars available I'd give them. JM |

[2012-10-07] Martin: A Delight Read Hook's review. Pimlical is a calendar with a huge lost of features. Most important is the ability to sync without Google and keep your private stuff private. |
[2012-10-06] telcomguy: Best calendar app I loved this app when it was called DateBk on my old Palm Treo. It is incredibly feature rich and has gotten better and better over the years. It syncs flawlessly with Google calendar and works great with my Galaxy Nexus. I am so delighted that my old friend is available on my new phone. |
[2012-10-06] Anon: Excellent Calendar I used Datebk on Palm PDA for years. Great to have the Android version available. Syncs to my Google calendar. Many, many features. Works great on DInc2 running CM7. |
[2012-10-06] Hook: A Power-User's Calendar Samsung Galaxy 5, Android 2.3.5 A fantastic calendar and scheduling app that gives you very powerful, fine-grained control. Understand all that control requires a bit of a learning curve. However, it is time well spent. It works with Google (which I don't use) or with DirectSync to a Palm Desktop type Desktop PIM (which I do use). In fact, you can even mix both. DirectSync is by far the best desktop syncing experience on Android. So far this only does calendaring and scheduling, but it will eventually handle memos and contacts from the desktop application as well. This is not an app you will figure out in Google Play's pathetic 15 minutes for refund, so visit the developers site and there is a Yahoo group linked there where experienced users can answer questions. This is admittedly a pricy app (by modern smartphone standards), but it is worth every penny if you really depend on scheduling and you get the bonus of supporting worthwhile Dewar Wildlife gorilla project. If you liked Datebk6 (same developer) with Palm Desktop, this is finally that caliber of a calendar for Android, particularly when paired with the desktop program (purchased separately). Highly recommended. |

[2012-10-06] Peter: I am so happy y'all get to see this fantastic app! Even my grandchildren, 4 and 6, know that Pimlical is IMPORTANT! I have been through DateBk3, 4, 5 and 6. When my Palm device died Pimlical for Android (beta) was there to take up the baton. All my info transferred over and on I went. If you care about calendaring you owe it to yourself to use Pimlical (and while you do, link it to the desktop version available at the developer's website). Being a longtime user I realize that I have learnt a lot about how to adapt (infinite personifications possible) Pimlical to MY ways; you will find yours, I assure you, but it takes more than the short 15 minutes Google gives you. Do NOT hesitate, pay and enjoy. Enjoyment comes through effort. |
