microJournal is a minimalist notepad/journal where entries are restricted to only 100 characters.
★ Everything is private by default (though can be later shared).
★ Capture thoughts and ideas as you constrain yourself to very short "micro" entries.
★ Want an idea for something to write about? Hit the prompt button ("!") and get a short suggestion.
If you want a fully featured note App, with online sync and so on, I personally recommend SpringPad. However, if you want a simple, easy to use App which forces you to be concise and which allows you to quickly share journal entries/notes via Twitter, SMS and so on, then microJournal is ideal.
Using microJournal
☆ Tap a saved note to share it.
☆ Hold on a saved note to edit it, clone it (start editing a copy of it) or to delete it.
☆ Export and import to and from SD card to allow you to backup/restore your entries.
☆ Premium export to word processors, blogs and email now available (requires purchase of key app).

☆ The main functions of the app will remain free (including backup facility). There are several extra features to thank those who support the development of the App.

[2012-03-11] Paul: Very simplistic view, exactly what I needed I tried other apps but got bogged down with all the other unneeded options and soon got fed up, microJournal is a refreshing change and I like the clean design. It could really use an initial lock screen and perhaps allow the individual user to increase from 100 characters, as others have posted. But for me, the most important feature would be to import from a text file (.csv etc) from previous applications used, not just from the microJournal backup. This may also sway others to switch as well and would complete the import/export/backup process. Also to be able to edit the entry date/time would be great as I don't always have the opportunity to jot things down at the time, but like to see when they did occur. I thought it was worth paying the cost of the premium version, so hopefully these suggestions can be included in future releases. |
