[2012-01-20] Grant: Lots of potential, but disappointing Poor support response and broken integration for password protected Calibre libraries make this an unusable product. Moon+ Reader is a more road ready option for ebook fans. |
[2012-01-19] Anonymous: It's okay, better than Adobe What can be improved: only one fault for me: the accuracy of highlighting. Every time I try to highlight some words the words that are highlighted are ones below. Thinking about it this app could do with an undo feature. |
[2012-01-19] Gez Page: Not quite On the surface it looks great with good features, but, doesn't perform well. Pdf rendering freezes on image heavy docs. Epub sans serif fonts are nasty, need anti aliasing. Doesn't override margin settings. Please keep working on it, I want this to be better :) |
[2012-01-17] Air Bear, or Airick!: Best ebook app Best app I've found for reading books. This app offers so much compared to other apps. Being able to annotate and highlight PDF files is what had me sold. I love it! |
[2012-01-16] Anonymous Blah: Speed! The processing speed of pdf's alone makes this a good app. That, accompanied with great functionality, intuitiveness, and a pleasurable UI makes this an excellent app. I have had an Asus Transformer for more than 6 months and have always lacked fast PDF reading. This app is truly excellent! |
[2012-01-15] Zach: Crashes frequently Has nice features but is way too unstable. Stops responding every few seconds.. moto xoom |
[2012-01-15] Devon: Well designed reader. Unfortunately, even setting zero margins does not use my whole screen, and there is no option to keep hardware button lights off. Critical for night reading. |
[2012-01-14] dawnbluenose: What I was looking for! I had the perfect reader in mind for books and pdfs but could not find it. Finally stumbled on this after about a half dozen apps and I LOVE IT. |
[2012-01-14] mimi: Best PDF reader Best free app with bookmark support |
[2012-01-13] Cleric: Stanza Reborn I am a recent convert to android coming from an ios background. I have searched high and low for a decent ereader to replace stanza. Thank you! |
[2012-01-12] Johnleewilson: Great! Best pdf ebook reader I have found so far! Fast, customizable, Good horizontal reading mode for textbooks. Using a rooted book tab. |
[2012-01-09] MrBill: I once was blind but now I read! I probably loaded and tested a dozen readers and pdf apps until I came across a year old forum post that pointed me to this app...It seems a bit silly that it gives me this much joy to have it work so well for what I need... Thank you! |
[2012-01-09] Rafeek [رفيق]: Rafeek Mikhael The annotation and highlighting capability is very useful. |
[2012-01-08] Burfee: Tried using it on my nook simple touch and it lacks continuous page scrolling which is annoying. Also, it lacks binding buttons for scrolling. |
[2012-01-08] Tootsky: good needs to fix images.. should fit on screen |
[2012-01-07] Jennifer Rose: Like it But the column during is not quite there. The column titles are cropped and navigating to next column isn't intuitive |
[2012-01-05] Carlos: Fantastic - GET THIS ONE! Went through a dozen apps before I found this one. 5 stars and a 95% satisfaction rating. Try it. |
[2012-01-03] William: Meh Nice layout & custom ability, slow with large libraries (1k book, 500 Meg, all epub) can sort by author but not group. Don't want to scroll through 50 Steven king novels to get to Tolkien. Page turns feel sloppy. Like it better than nook or kindle. |
[2012-01-03] CC: Best PDF reader thus far. Allows bookmarking & fits horizontally/vertically/or both. But no access to files on external card. |
[2012-01-02] Ric: Great app! One small thing: the PDF scaling is not as good/smooth as adobe reader. |
[2012-01-01] RicardoG: Great, Almost Perfect Like others have said, this is a truly great app. I downloaded this app because I need something that allows me to annotate pdfs. In this regard, the app is a bit disappointing. I'm writing this review so that hopefully Montano developers read it and make some changes. 1) Highlighting is a bit clunky. Capacitive touch screens are not super accurate, and when you enter the highlight mode, it's really easy to highlight random things on accident. 2) Leaving notes is awkward, and it would be helpful if you could choose where on a page you want to leave a note (I'm thinking how Adobe Acrobat Desktop implements sticky notes). 3) Most importantly: you can't save your annotations directly onto your pdf file. In fact, I think this is the biggest flaw because it tethers you to the Montano platform. If I want my annotations outside of my portable device, the only option I have in Montano is to export a pdf of only the annotations. Montano devs need to add a feature so that users can save their annotations to their pdf file. This is something that Repligo can do. I'm willing to fork over the money for this fantastic reader if it just handled annotations better. |
[2012-01-01] longjohn: Great For Technical Books Most of my technical books on electronics and computers are in PDF format with a lot of intense graphics and this Reader handles them very well with a couple of features not seen in any other eReader. Used with a Pandigital WPDN and Eclair 2.1 |
[2011-12-31] FangLee: ALLOW PDF and local ebook This app allow to open Pdf from local storage. The reader is comparable to Barnes n noble, it allow highlight and last reading bookmarks. Like and recommend it. |
[2011-12-31] widagdo: The best pdf reader It has margin remover. Very nice app |
[2011-12-30] JinNjuicE: simply the best PDF reader on Android |
[2011-12-29] Sigit: Best. I have tried other apps but for me this is the best apps for reading books in android. |
[2011-12-28] Mar: promising app Ive just found that application when looking for a pdf marker, and I believe it would exceed my expectations. I've tried use it in a saple text an it work just fine. I wish it works wth box or gdocs too, we'll see. will comment on the specifics after a while of using it. Smmary: good app at first sight. |
[2011-12-27] piszczel: Almost perfect Great app, it would be great to have change of font color in pdf mode. |
[2011-12-26] the 12/26/2011 Great! I actually purchased the paid version through Amazon but use this because Amazon is so slow to update. My font resizes easily (either using the menu or just sliding a finger up the left side of the screen) and it is the best DRM compatible I've found! |
[2011-12-25] Neal: The best yet Best free reader I've come across. Reads PDF and epub. Best of all, allows highlighting and annotations. Awesome. |
[2011-12-22] j: Almost the best reader for pdf...missing features comparable to adobe reader Overall very nice for reading pdf books but does not have continuous scroll like adobe reader. Also when zoomed to fit and get to page bottom, going to next page jumps u to bottom, not top of next page..very annoying, having to scroll back up each page. Still, has bookmarks, and nice reader. Fix next page jump , add continuous scroll(basically duplicate adobe reader views) then it will be 5 stars. |
[2011-12-20] David: Best reader out there Not sure why this reader doesn't show up next to others when searching but this has it all. Have tried almost ask and much better than ask the other popular ones. |
[2011-12-18] xavier: Very good Love this app very helpfull. Needs a bit of work but overall this works okay especcially since its free |
[2011-12-17] Holgalee: Amazing! Can u add a feature to erase annotations? If u can open and annotate powerpoint files that will be even more fabulous! |
[2011-12-17] Anil: ! Cannot open PDF file from Evernote Android client. |
[2011-12-16] Angel: Looks promising But it has so many bugs, I can't turn pages back in PDFs, can't get the epubs' font bigger, it also doesn't open some books that moon+ does |
[2011-12-16] Nam: My favorite It can be better if the book display in full width when hold the tablet (7 inch) horizontally. |
[2011-12-14] Daniel: Love the bookmark and text highlight features |
[2011-12-12] Mikbe: So close to perfect but fatally flawed Never trust a review that doesn't give you specifics; be it positive or negative. Pros: Organization: Simple, easy to use organization using Categories. You can select a bunch of your unorganized files and put them in an existing category or create one on the fly. Reflow text: Can do on-the-fly conversion of the PDF text and images into resizable text. It does it better than the other readers I've tried. Intelligent zooming: Cn dynamically remove margins, zooming to just the text. That's not unique but it does it better than others by ignoring outliers like page numbers so you get the real meat of the text as zoomed in as possible while still being able to read without panning. Turn the page while zoomed: My favorite feature has to be that it lets you turn pages while zoomed without panning first! Just tap on the edge of the screen to turn the page while zoomed. Others make you pan to the edge of the screen before they'll turn the page which becomes a huge pain really quickly. Fast. Cons: Doesn't work with all of my PDFs! This is unforgivable since other PDF readers could display the files. Doesn't reflow pages with images. This is really annoying when a header is an image. |
[2011-12-11] blackICE: Ads everywhere The app has full screen ads popping up jusy when you are about to click that area, makes you go through the ad link. Worst attitude ever. |
[2011-12-10] Grazielle Ann: Five stars The best ebook reader out there. Highlighting text is easy and browsing pages is smooth nd fast |
[2011-12-09] Ernesto: The best in book reader apps I love this app finally somthing good for reading my books |
[2011-12-09] Rabin: Best available This is by far the best ebook reader available on the market. |
[2011-12-08] pendyala sudhakar: Best pdf reader yet |
[2011-12-07] J.C.: Not perfect but highly impressive Overall, I was a bit overwhelmed when I first launch this reader. It is a little different, and so far, i cant set a boomark at all for an epub. |
[2011-12-07] Marilyn: Could not increase tiny font size, unreadable on tablet |
[2011-12-07] Professional: This is THE One! Yep, no doubt about it. I've researched over 10 of these readers and NOTHING can even hold a candle to this reader. Watch the YouTube video but realize, it doesn't even come close to doing justice for what this app can do. You'll be amazed. |
[2011-12-07] Jamie: Do Install! Pretty darn good with lots of potential. |
[2011-12-06] Sergi: I love this app It can setup castom zoom for books and I can highlight using different colors. |
[2011-12-03] lennuk: Excellent! Needed reader that's fast with graphics heavy pdfs. Nothing else comes close to the speed of this. Pages through docs rapidly. Love bookshelf feature! |
[2011-12-03] aravind: The best reader app The best reader app for android. Love the feature set. |
[2011-12-03] Aaron: The best Best reader for Android yet. |
[2011-12-02] Ion: Do not install! If you want to know what rubbish means, install this app ... lots of space (7.81 MB) for nothing :-( |
[2011-12-01] Dominik: Nice app, but... ...it is somehow counter productive when working with. Doesn't save highlighted text so when the app is rebooted, every note and highlight is gone. Hope its not just me how does not find the "save" button? Beside this, this app is the perfect reader, with lots of helpfull tolls and ways of using it. Recomendation: just try it out for yourself if you can work with it. Without save option i can't.... |
[2011-11-30] iRajiv: Ambitious, great work in progress. Looking forward to more stability in future updates |
[2011-11-29] Primavera: Can't save highlights or other annotations in PDF You can save NOTHING in the PDF (highlights, comments...). All your modifications can be seen exclusively with the program and, what is more, it doesn't detect the highlights you previously made on the PDF. If you have a problem with the app YOU CAN LOSE ALL YOUR WORK. This minor but crucial aspect makes this app (remarkably good in other aspects) almost useless. |
[2011-11-27] theaffman: Great potential with this one..... rather unstable on my phone though :( get speed and stability and you'll have a winner |
[2011-11-25] Richie: Perfection in progress This is exactly what i needed and almost thought i wouldn't find. After countless disappointments, here's the reading app for me. |
[2011-11-24] Anonymous: Wow.. just wow After trying loads of readers and finding them lacking one thing or other I find this gem. A must-have for book lovers. |
[2011-11-23] Mohammed: Great Best app ever!!! |
[2011-11-23] Saleh: Excelent work (: |
[2011-11-22] חן: Worth it!! |
[2011-11-20] eYe s: . . Wow Tts, anonnate ,and is free. If I can give it 10 stars I will. |
[2011-11-18] sam: Good dem reader |
[2011-11-15] nicole: Wonderful- Easy to use gestures are great-flawless with tts!(as close to kindle as I can find)wish it had a book catalog though-will purchase full. -epic 4g |
[2011-11-15] Vincent: Been looking all around for something like this, this is the only apps I found.. :) |
[2011-11-15] the 11/16/2011 Great, Works really well for pdfs. Annotations could have more features, then it would replace paper for uni! Will buy soon as I really think its worth it! |
[2011-11-14] Alex: Best pdf reader optimized for honeycomb expect the collection tree could be organized according to the file directory tree |
[2011-11-13] 1redromeo1: Arjun Really good..... A little slow but has reflow!!!!!!! So far best for books..... Xperia arc... |
[2011-11-13] Wheel: Promising, but.... They need to freeze features and work on speed and stability. It looks nice and has lots of features but I've not had a great time trying to read technical ePubs. It does a pretty good job at rendering complicated ePubs (eg. with blocks of example programming code in) but can be very slow on large books and you'll get that wait every time you change rotation, font size, etc. The alpha of fbReader2.0 has improved its ePub layout and you'll only get the long wait once when opening. For PDFs ezPDF is faster. |
[2011-11-12] inkubux: Almost perfect Best app on the transformer. Aldiko was slow, this one is fast and slick |
[2011-11-10] Mycon: Gargantua app! Uninstalled And stuck with icon app |
[2011-11-09] Kanak: My favorite for the moment This reader is my favorite at the moment. It has got things i need most in a ebook reader- Offline Dictionary support, Font choice, UI and Shelf management. PDF reader is a nice bonus. Page rendering sends some dedicated high paid pdf readers into shame. Absolutely recommended. |
[2011-11-09] R: Text to speech only does chipmunk speed french no matter what language you select. Looks like i cant set reading speed. Liked the interface though |
[2011-11-04] the 11/8/2011 GREAT reader This is a really great reader. And still under development so getting better all the time. I'm so happy that I found this app. Works great on my NookColor running MIUI. |
[2011-10-22] Cade: No script support Why don't any pdf readers have script support??? |
[2011-10-05] bhoms: So amazing reader with advance features. |
[2011-09-25] hugov: Good rendering of styles. Bad image rescaling. Ugly UI |
[2011-09-01] Martin: Why have a trial version that doesn't work? On my Asus transformer (honeycomb 3.2), it says the trial period has ended when I try to open a book. The devs must be quick at testing stuff themselves, as this wasn't even 5 mins after installing the app... No way will I royal wasting my money on the expensive full version when the trial isn't even working. |
[2011-08-21] Stephen: Looks Promising...but I downloaded the trial version and it said the trial had expired as soon as I loaded it up. |
[2011-08-19] Tabatha: Though the interface is really great, I find that it lacks some features that I need in a book reader. Plus it had issues opening some .epub files. |
[2011-08-10] Jim: FC FC FC Very unusable on my snooker running Phiremod 6.3. Hope you fix it because it is great when it does run. |
[2011-08-06] Priyank Bolia: Pretty interface, but lacks all professional features. Like highlighting currently spoken line, locking the horizontal scrolling, tts and font. |
[2011-07-28] Erik: Surprisingly great! I have tried (and own) many of the other PDF readers on the market. This one has some of the best display modes I have seen. As has been mentioned, the interface is superb and professional. Other developers could learn a lot from these guys. The only feature that I am missing on this app is that it doesn't respond to keyboard input for page turning. With that one feature, this app would be perfect for me and would give it 5 stars. |
[2011-07-26] Tana: Love to buy this reader, but I'm having issues w/ selections/highlights marking the wrong text/whole paragraph when I try to mark a word or two. |
[2011-07-22] Sydel: Looks good, but says I must be connected to activate trial when I AM CONNECTED. So I can't open books or try it. Which means I can't buy it. Pls fix. |
[2011-07-20] que: This is the most full-featured ebook reader I have used. TTS is awesome. My only gripe is that the speech stops when the screen times out. |
[2011-07-19] claudiojsouza: Everything works except that I cannot change the font size on my tablet, it doesn't show the A+ and the A- to do it, it is hidden in the display box. |
[2011-07-18] Mariette: Doesn't work with Motorola Xoom Tablets This would have been a great app, but I've tried resolving password protected DRM E-books which from every angle from the app or logging on with an Adobe ID; it still cannot be opened. There is NO interface using a tablet keyboard. It may work for other android devices using Honeycomb, but unfortunately, NOT this trial and if it offers the Adobe ID feature, it should specify that. If the app offers DRM, you should be specific. |
[2011-07-15] Johan: 14MB after move to SD?! Thanks, but no thanks - might be a good app but I don't have that amount of memory to spare. |
[2011-07-11] Matt: Clunky, never liked interface, at least it's pretty |
[2011-07-11] Aladdien: Fantastic Application The speach sound is smooth, and its speed is good, however, it would be better if that reading speed is controlable. Other than that, a normal PDF viewer, with good options |
[2011-07-03] Jeff: I have tried all of the main ereaders and this is the best. A newcomer, but they get it in regards to what is needed in a pro level ereader app. |
[2011-06-30] HoushaSen: Best on Market Already (Using HoneyComb Device) Despite youngest of all, this is already the best and this is what I was looking for. I tried Aldiko, FBReader, MoonReader etc. Rendering of this uses ADE engine so matches that of Aldiko. But page turning is much faster (I have 500MB EPUB). As for PDF, this flies. I open 80MB PDF and its instananeous. UI is professional quality. Oh and don't forget this supports Highlighting, Annotation, Note taking etc. Developers are very responsible with quick reply and fixes. Trust me. This is the best for honeycom |
[2011-06-30] JoAnn: Nice bookshelf view but limited customization options for page appearance and behavior. |
[2011-06-26] Robert: The author thinks more highly of this product than I. Very buggy and slow. Uninstalled. |
[2011-06-24] loco-ocho: I found the trial to be buggy and slow but after downloading the full version, I changed my mind. I think it's a great app. |
