Location Alert (v. 1.1) Разработано Jarvisware |
Location Alert is a cutting-edge application that reminds you to perform tasks based upon your current location, rather than time. Often there are tasks to which you cannot specify a certain time, however, would like to be reminded when in a certain vicinity.
For instance, you don’t know when exactly you will leave work this evening, but whenever you do, and are crossing the grocery store on your way home, you want to be reminded to pick up milk. Location Alert to the rescue!
- Don't know what time you'll be crossing the science department, but need to remember to drop off that assignment whenever you do?
- Don't know what time you'll reach office but must remember to hand in that check to accounting?
- Need a reminder to pick up the DVD you left at Sam's house whenever you're in the vicinity next time?
- Want a reminder to pick up medicines when crossing the chemist today?
Maximize your day's efficiency by completing tasks in a timely manner and with the least amount of traveling.
Unlike any other location alarm applications, Location Alert uses the smartest algorithms to ensure the most efficient use of your device's battery while providing maximum accuracy. Any application that is in constant contact with GPS satellites (such as Maps or Navigation software) will drain your battery rapidly. Location Alert, however, allows one to use its capabilities as much as desired while barely affecting the device's battery power at all. Rather than contacting satellites every second, the application uses genius mathematical formulae (distance, speed, time) and historical data to gauge your location along with GPS, hence only using GPS when in close proximity to provide you the accuracy that is essential. The technology is undoubtedly the best in class.
Location Alert boasts some really cool additional features and the best part is that it's absolutely free with no limit on functionality. The Geo-Snooze feature allows you to snooze a Location Alarm (Geo-Alarm) until the radius, previously set to trigger an alarm, is exited and re-entered.
A Deadline Alarm feature is another one sure to boost efficiency. In the event that you set a location alarm and fear you may not cross the set location within the next few days but must complete the task by the following Friday by 6:15pm under any circumstances, you can set a deadline alarm for this time. Thereafter, if you do not cross the set location by that time, an alarm reminding you to perform this task will trigger either way!
Often one crosses certain geographic locations, streets, areas, etc., on a daily basis. However, even though one of these streets may be a regular on your location reminder list, you may only need to be reminded to do something here on certain days of the week. For example, you may cross the dry-cleaner's every single day, however, you would only like to be alerted to pick-up or drop-off items on Tuesday's and Friday's. Location Alert has you covered!
So say goodbye to your traditional organizer and start enjoying the power of a smarter technology that gets things done - on the go!

[2012-02-18] Veera Bhadra Rao: Concept is good Good but notworking |
[2012-02-10] bharat: Awesomeness!!! |
[2012-01-21] George: Absolutely excellent; the best that I've seen on the market; works perfectly; great user options; well thought out. |
[2012-01-19] Ben: Not really functional Does not store address but current location when address was typed in. Cannot select saved favorite for new alarm. |
[2012-01-17] liewkev: Not able to remove history. |
[2011-12-28] Marcus Welby: Battery life sucks. 18% of my battery used up from this app alone. I don't remember it doing this before. Unfortunately I must uninstall. |
[2011-12-21] MrLowe's: No maps The idea itself is quite good, but the problem with this app is that the maps are not cached and as a result it is difficult to set a location with nothing but a grey screen if you have no wifi and you don't know the coordinates. The app definately has promise but work is needed. |
[2011-12-12] lietuvys: You can miss your bus stop! Couldn't find how to control background operation. It is inaccurate |
[2011-11-27] Alex: Battery Continuous GPS check drains battery |
[2011-11-24] Alan: Poor options Cannot specify if we want the alert to trigger when entering or leaving a location. |
[2011-11-18] Kyra: Great concept, but buggy in reality. Never did remind me when in reached my locations. |
[2011-11-12] LEAP_AZ: Works great on EVO, easy to use... |
[2011-11-03] in2: sleep to lastest min! |
[2011-10-30] Rajesh: Crappy Never detected my current location though Maps would show it pinpoint so no error in my GPS for sure. Waste of time. |
[2011-10-28] E.Voyager.: Waste Sometimes no alarm, sometimes false alarm. This is a hoax feature wise. I tried Geo Task Alert System and it's class 1 application. Uninstalled. |
[2011-10-22] Tim: Load of junk. Hammered my battery before I'd even set any tasks! |
[2011-10-20] GldRush98: Didn't work. Set alarm for home, was home for an hour and never saw an alarm go off. Uninstalled. |
[2011-10-16] Daniel: Needs a few changes but nearly there.... So far, its a good app, but can be so much better... Few improvements to be made: - Date AND time range (Give option for all day, or specific time range) - Can work in background and app does not require to be turned on - Can use the phone's signal to determine location and not require GPS (which drains more battery) - More options for distances from location - Sound and vibrating to stop after around 10 seconds but for the alert to stay on the lockscreen Keep up the good work... |
[2011-10-09] the 10/11/2011 Never worked Doesn't remind me. I thought it might have been due to other programs I had installed to save battery but even after uninstalled those and reinstalled |
[2011-10-05] Android: Not intelligent enough If this app can't figure out that gps not working inside of my office, it's useless! Dispute promises it keeps GPS always on |
[2011-09-24] Vinay: That is a great concept. But, did u forget including the auto-suggest feature? Also you may think of consuming the pre-installed Google maps. |
[2011-09-04] Gerry: On the right track I came from WebOS to Android recently. Go look at "GeoStrings" for some ideas on what else you can do with this program. I agree on the time comment. By allowing a reminder to have a time range, the GPS can be left alone. Also consider NUMEROUS distances within a mile. A mile is way too far anymore. GeoStrings has several distances all the way down to 0.1 mile and it worked excellent. Consider current distance to each reminder and speed - use those to determine when you need to read the GPS again. |
[2011-08-19] Marc: Well done very helpful Add time frame option for 5 stars. Using for bus stops. nice not constantly checking whereabouts out the window, can read/watch movies in peace |
[2011-08-08] zigiprimo: Was expecting more… How about some more features like in Locale or Tasker. |
[2011-08-05] Taner: fit my needs but requires time range it is very good application to remind your tasks when you are in preselected location. Please add time range for the alert; consider following scenario: - I want to add a reminder to my current location when I enter current location during same day. when I add such alert, it reminds me immediately since there is no time range. |
[2011-07-19] Mark: Functionality for the Optimus S is extremely limited. App should be more easily configurable like Location Alarm, with add'l options for time of notif |
[2011-07-18] Jordan: Polished and functional, but uses a lot of GPS/battery in the process |
[2011-07-09] John: Too unreliable. DROIDX |
[2011-06-27] the 6/30/2011
[2011-06-22] Jeff: Just not reliable enough. Was at the store for 15 min before alarm went off. Evo. |
[2011-06-21] Mapman: Cool concept but too buggy. Edit an alert's settings and alert disappears |
[2011-06-21] Vic: This software has great potential. I am still testing it out. I will give a comment in a week or so. |
[2011-06-16] Try my beard: It works on Atrix, but the alert can not turn off |
[2011-06-15] Hugo: Interesting concept but keeps gps actif and drains battery |
[2011-06-14] Bodhidharma: Cool app. Would prefer status bar notifications though without sound or vibrating. Any chance of that in an update? |
[2011-06-12] Czar: Can't get this to work. Have tried 3 different locations |
[2011-06-12] Big Boo: Great features but seems to uses more battery than remind@. Shows using 7% of battery. Remind@ 0%. |
[2011-06-12] Scoobie: what if you dnt know the address of the place you want a reminder for. You just can't type price chopper and the city/state you want into the map |
[2011-06-11] tallen3: Set up several alerts and nothing happened even had gps, wifi and 3G on still no resulting alert. |
[2011-06-10] Ariff: Great utility, minimalistic and functional design Love the app. very useful. Great design. Easy to use. No GPS required so low on battery. Good job |
[2011-06-10] Laksh P: Awesome app!! Hats off to the application, its the best i have come across. Trust me its a must have on your Android phone. 5 stars***** all the way!!!! |
[2011-06-10] Chuck: Clever, needs some polish Looks promising, but: search icon scales oddly on the Atrix display and distances are expressed in "mts" (?) Also, how do I create an alert without a date range, that just exists until I complete it, like an undated todo? Again, this looks very useful but need some tweaking. |
