1) No backup? That's right. If you want backup then consider upgrading to List It Plus.
2) No dark theme? True. More theme options have been on the very bottom of the features to-do list for a long time. When I get around to it it will probably be added to List It Plus first.

It's simple and it is what it is:
no dates
no priorities
no notifications
no reminders
no widget
Very simple: list items then check them off. If you want more than that then this app isn't for you.
