Had it since G1 Though it's not first on my list of installs, I found I really missed it on my new Note. Really, it's fast, private, simple, doesn't run unless you call it. And yes, if you want a backup, you need a different app for that. There are lots of them.

Works on bionic and droid maxx On bionic Needed to select inserty, switch to other kb, then back to inserty before my list of options finally appear Update: Must have been a Motorola issue. No update from Inserty, but it's working after an OS update. Never a problem on droid maxx

Great GPS Keyboard One of a kind AKAIK. Only thing out there that lets you easily insert Lat/Lon or Date/Time into any app by masquerading as a keyboard (which is readily changed in and out). Also has the inserting of favorite phrases to save typing. Used it for years and still love it for easy time stamping of log entries.

Great idea! android needs a program like this! 1 thing you need to add for 5 stars...system input should default back to previous input method after using paste. otherwise you have to go back in manually reselect your keyboard.

How to add to input method list Fantastic. You need to go into Android Settings -> Language and Keyboard and enable 'Inserty' then it will show up on the input methods list.

Doesn't show up on input method list... Installed fine and can copy/paste using clipboard, but when I long press an input box and bring up Input Method, it's not in the list. Still only see Samsung Keyboard and Swype. It's a Galaxy S running 2.2. Any ideas?

Great app for snippets I love this for insertion of today's date in notes, acked-by on mailing lists, etc. Similar to apps like TextExpander on the mac, but inserted via a different mechanism due to the different OS.
