NitroDesk, Inc. has been building and improving TouchDown since October 2008. We have improved the product through hundreds of internal versions, to bring you the best and most downloaded Email solution for Android.
Comprehensive : Support for most number of data types (Email, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks) and Notes and SMS syncing for Exchange 2010 servers.
Customizable : Dozens of options to make the app behave just the way you want. Custom notifications, speech notifications, viewing tweaks, pinch-to-zoom, peak times and many more.
SD card support : Move your data to the SD card if necessary
Widgets : Email, Tasks, Calendar, Universal Widgets make it easy for you to see your status at a glance. Support for third party widgets give you a wide range of choice
Most Secure: TouchDown supports exchange activesync policies such as PIN, Remote Wipe, Data encryption and Storage card encryption of corporate data. Hundreds of organizations trust TouchDown to ensure security, privacy and confidentiality of their data. Discerning organizations mandage the use of TouchDown to ensure high usability along with security.
Corporate Data Separation: TouchDown keeps your corporate data separate from your personal data. Without TouchDown, your employer can actually flatten your phone to factory defaults. With TouchDown, they can only remove corporate data belonging to them, leaving behind your personal information.
S/MIME: TouchDown is the only android solution so far that supports sending and receiving S/MIME signed and encrypted emails. S/MIME signing and encryption ensures that your emails are not tampered with, and can ensure that emails you send can be ensured to be visible only to the intended recipient.
Manageable : TouchDown integrates with most popular Mobile Device Management solutions in the market today, increasing the chances that your phone can play well with your IT organization's security policies.

[2012-03-18] Ann : touchdown super! |
[2012-03-18] James: Don't work on ICS 4.0.3 shame as great app but it doesn't render html emails on ICS 4.0.3 on Galaxy S2 even with the option set |
[2012-03-18] Alan: Works Just what I need |
[2012-03-17] Chad: Best app! Most useful android app ever!! The new ui is awesome! Thank you for the new calander widget, its perfect! |
[2012-03-17] Lee: Allow move to SD Had to remove from HTC Desire due to it consuming too much memory and doesn't support move to SD. As soon as it does I may reinstall. |
[2012-03-17] Sal: Wow, self-recovers now! Unlike the past, when my database got corrupted (which happens once on a rare-occasion but invariably at the worst possible time), this time it announced the corruption and offered to auto-recover. I didn't take it seriously, but it really worked! Once it restored itself, it took a few minutes to sync email/contacts, etc, but all my settings were there! Reminder sounds, synced-folders, everything. Thanks NitroDesk - this is the cream on top of an already superb email-client that does everything adeptly. |
[2012-03-17] Kenneth: Slow but useful Have to force close frequently. Otherwise, it works good enough. |
[2012-03-17] Richard: Richard Good, but not bulletproof. Calendar gets fouled up around daylight savings time change. Some appointments move and others do not. Sometimes I have to fix it multiple times on the desktop and on the server. Impossible to edit categories of contacts. For some reason I cannot synchronize Outlook notes even though notes is an option in the advanced settings menu. Overall fairly stable. |
[2012-03-16] Ryan Shaw: Permissions... Will not update until SMS permission is removed. No one wants to see this permission. |
[2012-03-16] Dag: Great app but has a few issues Good app for the business user. Only gripe I have is intermittent sync issues. Had this app for 7 days and lost sync at least every other day. Have to clear the settings and reset. Galaxy Nexus. |
[2012-03-16] Sean: Works great! Awesome |
[2012-03-16] Prabind: great app Congrats folks on such a nice app! works much better and faster then stock exchange app. Out of office option interface is bit unfriendly. Hope to see it fixed in next updates! |
[2012-03-16] Anonymous: Not needed Great app for use with office 365, I have managed to get sgs2 to synchronise, so currently not needed, as it is a bit costly. only issue is you can only see contacts on the exchange address book, would be good to see contacts that are held on the phone memory too. |
[2012-03-15] Jonathon: Great! |
[2012-03-15] Ben: Does the job... well This is a great outlook exchange app. Lots of options for alerts, etc. Calendar can be a little wonky with invites but overall it keeps me looped in well. |
[2012-03-15] Denny: OK, but has some quirks As this is an "all-in-one" email/calendar/contacts solution, it needs to be known that it overides(and makes read-only) your phone's contact list. This can prove cumbersome if you receive a phone call from an unknown number, attempt to add to your contacts, resulting in a "read-only" error. You'd have to copy that number into Touchdown's contact list, and then sync it to your phone's. Creating new appointments using the Calendar app is cumbersome, and pressing the "back" button when viewing the Month brings you back to the "default" touchdown screen which is unwieldy. When adding a person's picture to Touchdown's contact list, the resolution and detail is extremely butchered. The email client is the high point as it handles meeting invites/cancellations properly(unlike many other email clients). If only Touchdown had just a stand-alone email client and gave us the option to use our stock phone's Calendar/Contacts, then it would be perfect. As a result hard to justify the cost of the app. Try before you buy. |
[2012-03-15] Storage: IT Manager If you have an Android and an Exchange account You must!!! use this application. Is by far the best application for email on this platform. $20??? no sweat I think worth more...nuff said. |
[2012-03-15] smewth: Really great client with good customizability. However it periodically grabs all bandwidth to the phone which can often cause hands and force closes. |
[2012-03-15] Alex: Was able to connect to my company's exchange server with this app which wasn't possible with gingerbread's half baked version of active sync! Buy it! |
[2012-03-15] David: Love it No issues, no crashes, no problem with sync., no hassle. Does exactly what it says it's supposed to do. |
[2012-03-15] Stuart: The best Expensive but Brilliant. The best there is for business users. Continually being imrpved also. Would love some more options for background colors. Keep up the good work. |
[2012-03-15] the 3/15/2012 Broken Keeps on crashing. Losing its settings. Bored having to reenter info. Uninstalled. |
[2012-03-15] Max: Nice Good app but a but heavy |
[2012-03-14] mcrawfor: Fine Keeps work separate. Largest app on my phone and can't be moved to SD. That's frustrating. |
[2012-03-14] Darryl: Simply the best Exchange app available |
[2012-03-14] MrGreg: Okay Great when it works. Seems to stop syncing every couple weeks, and an uninstall and reinstall is required to get it working again. |
[2012-03-14] CarlG: Finally perfect The last update, allowing a filter/lookup ala blackberry to file mail into folders makes this perfect with exchange. Customized alert rules are also very handy. For business email it is well worth the price. |
[2012-03-14] Ryan: Excellent Email Application! Allows access to work email without the need of a secondary phone (BB). Would recommend to a friend or coworkers, have several times. Would like to see additional options on the widgets, such as a Push On/Off Toggle and/or a Sync Toggle. |
[2012-03-14] Andrea: Works great Even when I'm at my desk I get my work emails before my computer does! |
[2012-03-14] Andy: Ovet written setting Usually such a great app, but most recent update overwrote all my settings and deleted restore points. Super! |
[2012-03-14] Valcha: I use it a lot. great app. I use it a lot. great app. |
[2012-03-14] Cosmo4u123: The Best Best Exchange app for Android |
[2012-03-14] David: Updated Had to uninstall from my original DROID because it bogged it down terribly. Cause was a lack of memory on the DROID. Installed on my new Galaxy Nexus and it is great. Sometimes push doesn't work perfectly but still the most versatile exchange email app I've found. |
[2012-03-14] Doug: Must have for Exchange Users Touchdown was one of the reasons I switched to Android and was the first or second program I installed. It is powerful, easy to use, loaded with features and I have never experienced any issues or problems. It synchronizes with MS Exchange perfectly. I don't know of any other program which can synch all the components of tasks. Although somewhat expensive when many apps go for $5 or less, it is worth every cent of it's cost. |
[2012-03-14] Adam: just works enough said :-) |
[2012-03-13] Rennick: Love it! This is a GREAT App! Even works Google Apps. |
[2012-03-13] samnjugu: Best outlook integration Keeps your work life separate from your private life. I love the fact that it does not try to integrate my gmail calender with my work calendar and only encrypts outlook email storage and not the whole phone. Those two were my biggest selling points. So I can swipe to easily access my phone and only enter a pin when I need to access outlook. |
[2012-03-13] Matthew: Excellent! |
[2012-03-13] Jesse: Used for years Not perfect (difficult setting up multiple accounts) but the best consistent performer over the past several years. |
[2012-03-13] Tony: Excellent The best exchange client for gingerbread. Configurable and reliable. |
[2012-03-13] Jason: Worth every penny. Only 4 stars because 20 is a lot for a mobile app. But this one can command thr premium for a reason. |
[2012-03-13] Rob Fawcett: Superbly functional This app does vital sync work really reliably. The user interface is not beautiful, though improving a little with each update. |
[2012-03-13] twitch223: Ever since the latest update it crashes when ever I try to reply to any emails, forward emails or create a new email. |
[2012-03-13] David: It was 4 stars now 2... At some point it started really slowing down since the next to last patch. It also chewed battery but we will see if this patch fixes it. A bigger problem, making this much less useful is a search issue now. As far as search, Touchdown support now tells me I need to use server side searches which are abysmally slow because encryption is required in biz policy...but I never had this problem before two patches. If it's encrypted in the app, why can't they read their own key on a search?!? Frustrating. |
[2012-03-13] Don: Simply the best! Works as advertised. Very slick. |
[2012-03-13] Jerry: Great Exchange Client One of the best clients for Android if you connecting to Exchange. I using a Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Microsoft Office 365. |
[2012-03-13] Florian: Mixed Feelings When it works it is great, as it really is a full E-mail, Calendar & Tasks Client. You can synchronise with all your folders, make and edit reoccurring events, the "Full Monty". It is like having MS Outlook on your phone/device. This means that there are many options and the UI can therefore be a bit confusing or counter-intuitive but that is a small price to pay for this amount of functionality. But: from time to time it seems stuck when trying to synchronise with the server and no new mails, events, tasks or whatever will reach your phone. Only an un-install and reinstall will get it going again. And that is just not good enough. |
[2012-03-13] Sam: #1 Exchange app No better Exchange app available. |
[2012-03-13] Jude: Very reliable Very easy to set up and very stable. |
[2012-03-13] TheDarkOne: ActiveSync no longer works Had to switch to polling. |
[2012-03-13] Ruthless: Great until last update Last update causes emails to disappear when changing folders. I have to restart my phone to get them back. But disappear again when switching folders. Motorolla Atrix 4G. Also, why only allow 3 days history, I would like all emails to sync, or at least a couple months, or even weeks worth. |
[2012-03-13] Bill K: Great program Great program. |
[2012-03-13] Stanko: Using this app more then 5 months and got what I paid for. Would be nice to have option to change default view and other settings. |
[2012-03-13] Chrisman: Best Outlook for Android App Love it. Highly reliable. Nice for messages, calendar and tasks. |
[2012-03-13] James: Must have!!!! I have been using this app for several months now and I absolutely love it. I only wish it would sync notes. |
[2012-03-13] Kurt: Great app, great support After updating my phone to the latest ICS the license was not available anymore for some reason in the market. A simple email to support with the necessary details was all it took. Within an hour I received a response with the instructions to solve my issue. Great support! And...no issues during daily business use of the app, works just fine. |
[2012-03-12] Felton: Awesome Love the ability to search content, which the stock Android client doesn't allow. |
[2012-03-12] Edmond: Works GREAT !!! Works GREAT !!! Just what I needed!! |
[2012-03-12] Miguel: Great must have app for business emails First app i paid for and the most expensive but totally worth it every penny. |
[2012-03-12] Crow: Great features, amateur interface. Does everything I need but oh so ugly. |
[2012-03-12] the 3/12/2012 Works great, ridiculous UI Works great, ridiculous UI |
[2012-03-12] Matt: Freezes Constantly On a functional level it works great but the UI is horrible. |
[2012-03-12] Chad: Great application I've been using this app on many of my devices for quite a while. It has rarely let me down but I agree with most that the UI could really use a refresh. 5 stars once that happens. |
[2012-03-12] Horst: Permission to read SMSs? What's that used for? Changelog doesn't mention anything. Won't update until there is an explanation. |
[2012-03-12] Timbo: Works well. Terrible UI. Please update the UI its just truly awful. Other than that the app works fine. 5 stars on redesign/refresh of the UI. |
[2012-03-12] Kailong: Meh... I use it because its required for work. UI is functional. Could use a refresh. Not sure why it needs to read my SMS. |
[2012-03-12] the 3/12/2012
[2012-03-12] dangel: No problems here Not really sure what all the complaints are about, low battery usage, UI is fine for what it does, not sure why people need some fancy resource sucking interface to read emails.... there is nothing out there comparable. Oh and the SMS privilege is for SMS Sync for Exchange Server 2010. Really people are freaking out when an app that can read your emails wants to now also read your text messages??? |
[2012-03-12] Samanathon: Functional |
[2012-03-12] Goutham: Visual makeover coming sooooon! |
[2012-03-12] Tim: Great App Great product. As far as battery life, i have had this app on multiple phones over the past three years and never once was this app causing battery life problems. Second, the UI is fine and very functional. Every app out there needs upgrades from time to time. So, are the UI haters giving less stars to every app they download that needz a new UI? If so, u need to get a life |
[2012-03-12] the 3/12/2012 All most perfect This is the best exchange for android app available today. Set it and forget it type app. A lot of options, wish they could make it easier to find available options within this app. Happy I chose this app instead others. |
[2012-03-12] Robert: Excellent Compatibility with Exchange and Feature Excellent support for Exchange server with ActiveSync; fetches emails, contacts, calendar, tasks, and notes! Supports S/MIME encrypted email too! My stock email client could not display S/MIME or calendar invites!! The “Speak” feature to read out my emails, but I still cannot take my eyes of the road to activate the function, so it’s just a nicety for now—it would be great if there was a way to activate this feature when I am in the car, preferable by activating the “Car Panel” on my HTC Incredible. |
[2012-03-12] Chris: Great way to access corporate email systems. I use TouchDown practically every day to keep ahead of my work email whether I'm at my desk or in a meeting. It's great (*Chris*) |
[2012-03-12] Leo: Why needs to access to my sms logs? I was wondering why needs all those logs permissions? There needs more explanations about new update and permission. I won't update till developer give us explanation about that??? Because of that going from 5* to 4* other then that is great app. |
[2012-03-12] Sreekanth: Comprehensive Exchange Solution !! Great and complete corporate mail solution.. |
[2012-03-12] ScottW: Great App I live by Touchdown. I use it constantly, and have rarely had an issue that couldn't be traced back to my phone (rather than the app). Now that I have a good phone (Droid RAZR), I love it even more. I recommend it to others all the time. I love the granular configurability and feature-rich interface. |
[2012-03-12] Henk: Paranoid Americans I'm sure the developers only add permissions to see how you overreact! What are you guys hiding? |
[2012-03-12] Gozer: Best email app This is by far the best email app for connecting to an exchange server. Others will work but not as well as this one. |
[2012-03-12] Matthew: Bad update Great app! |
[2012-03-12] ldouglas64: Great app Great app |
[2012-03-12] Casto: Great I cannot fault this app. |
[2012-03-12] Ben: Great App! This app is a must have for corporate exchange users. |
[2012-03-12] Whoppie: Its just perfect Cant think of any other feature I'd like at the moment... :P |
[2012-03-12] Jon Webster: Best mail app ever |
[2012-03-12] Tony: Works great! |
[2012-03-12] Tom Hughes: Getting better with each update Good and getting better. |
[2012-03-12] the 3/13/2012 Touchdown Absolutely superb app for remote smart phone exchange mail access. |
[2012-03-11] CabCad: @ Ric below. You can have more than one profile in touchdown. I have had up to the three. Press the menu button, select more, then select profiles. |
[2012-03-11] YoRab: Great Email client with ONE MISSING FEATURE This email client is excellent. Much faster and much more functionality than the stock android email client. Only reason that I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the lack of support for google cloud print. Google cloud print is AWESOME. I can print from almost all apps and I can print attachments that I download but it's critical for me to be able to print emails and touchdown does not have either direct support for google cloud print or the "share" button that's common in other apps that would allow it as well. cloud printing request has been made over 6 months ago and it's still not available! PLEASE ADD THIS and I will purchase this for all my corporate users.... |
[2012-03-10] Soshik: never can return to built-in email client. Much Better than built in app. Moto Milestone / Droid 2.1. and Galaxy Note |
[2012-03-09] Jeffrey: Love the app, but... Have been using this app for years, and there's no better Exchange app for Android. However, this app guzzles battery life on my Galaxy Nexus. Even with push turned off, it accounts for 40+ percent of my battery usage. Never had this problem on 2 previous phones, my guess is that its not optimized for ICS. Easily a 5 star app if fixed. |
[2012-03-09] Mike: It works... But it's maybe the ugliest app on Android, has settings that are painfully confusing and poorly laid out, and most importantly notifications don't seem to work now that I upgraded to ICS. |
[2012-03-09] Ric: Overpriced but... Even as over priced as it is I would probably give five stars if I could use it for more than just one Exchange account. If Sprint hadn't stolen so much of my internal memory to shove its crapware down my throat, I might have room for a second app to handle the others. |
[2012-03-08] John: Works great Like it better than iphone |
[2011-02-12] Carter: Uninstall reinstall free forever. |
[2011-02-12] WC4J Brian: Great on my old Droid epic fail on Droid X. SUPPORT said fixed in new beta version asked if id try it said yes 2 days now no beta no response. |
[2011-02-11] Dawn: Need move to SD! |
[2011-02-10] brassman: DB keeps getting corrupted every few weeks. Droid X |
[2011-02-10] Anonymous: DB corruption issue keeps occuring. |
