"If you want to become a paperless business, spend the extra dollar [for Droid Scan]"-- Pursuit Mag: http://goo.gl/vNm0U
Droid Scan Lite is a mobile app that turns your phone or tablet into a portable document scanner.
** For batch processing, PDF creation, Google Drive upload with OCR and other premium features, and to turn off ads, upgrade to Droid Scan Pro PDF.
Droid Scan Lite has these unique, state of the art features:
- Document shape recognition, for perfectly shaped, professional-looking scans in standard formats like US Letter, US Legal, A4, A3, etc.
- Support for architectural and engineering paper sizes.
- Compatible with OCR by Evernote and Google Goggles.
- Built-in integration with Box OneCloud.
- Compatible with most cloud storage providers including Box and Dropbox.
Turn your mobile phone into a document scanner that goes where you go. Convert any snapshot into a highly readable JPEG by fixing geometry, contrast, and color.
Record business cards, white boards, full page documents, and receipts. On-phone conversion: complete confidentiality, no subscription fees.
Multiple resolutions available from low-res, suitable for quick sharing via email, to highest fidelity reproductions suitable for OCR and printed copy.
Automatic recognition of document shapes like US Letter, A4, Business card, and more.
Share via Gmail, Box, Dropbox, and many more.
** Droid Incredible users should read the Camera FAQ for their device: http://goo.gl/0zYO5
** We have just added a new Evernote FAQ: http://goo.gl/84KwQ
** Scanning sensitive documents? You're safe. See detailed information about privacy: http://goo.gl/7Kg5v
** Please note: If you use the capture feature on a tablet without a rear facing camera, Droid Scan may open the front facing camera, but this is not the intended method for using the app on a tablet. Droid Scan on tablets is intended for users who use another device to capture images, and cloud storage (for example, Picasa, Box OneCloud, Dropbox) to access the images on the tablet.
What permissions are used for:
FULL INTERNET ACCESS: Uploading images to a web service; sending anonymous statistics about app use to Google Analytics.
MODIFY/DELETE USB STORAGE CONTENTS MODIFY/DELETE SD CARD CONTENTS: Saving scans on the SD card.
VIEW WI-FI STATE/VIEW NETWORK STATE: Checking for an Internet connection before attempting to upload images to a web service.

Does a few things my DROID 2 camera doesnt. Dont understand it all yet n not real proficient with it yet but I think its cool n takes b.tchin' pics with ability to easily adjust their flaws to better quality. Not photo'd a doc w/words yet..that rating n comment to come. Thanks to google for this free app. Happy new year n all Downloaders have fun with this |

[2012-11-22] A Google User: Best app Good job who to made this its very useful and helping I recommend to anyone. ....... |
[2012-11-11] A Google User: I can't believe it... It was slow and did jot work at all. Maybe I should've waited longer after my screen blacked out when I was trying to edit the edges but I think 10 minutes is enough. The interface was cute. That's all. |
[2012-11-11] A Google User: Scan A very good apps |

[2012-10-25] A Google User: Great app, UI is a little clunky, but works well. |
[2012-10-17] A Google User: A portable way to scan Great |
[2012-10-17] A Google User: Whose needs a scanner! Great app, little tricky with the edging but once you get use to it, it's amazing and saves time when your out and about and not in an office. |
[2012-08-27] A Google User: Limited contrast and brightness Tried several camera scanners and found better alternative for free.even in high resolution text is not as clear. |
[2012-08-19] A Google User: Wonderful The most useful and comfortable application, all must use |
[2012-08-14] A Google User: Droid |
[2012-08-05] A Google User: No apparent use Did not work as described on EVO 4g for more than one photo. Touch Capture, it goes to the phone's camera, then when you go back to app, it says no captures. May work with time, but did not work when needed. |
[2012-07-01] A Google User: pathetic downloaded this to ocr. can't see how. either well hidden, just talks about it, or i'm stupid |
[2012-06-16] A Google User: Great App! Easy to use and effective! I can categorize business card in groups and when take picture of biz card the app will layout the border automatically, can also manually adjust, then even take photo from bad angle, the app make it a perfect square!!! Great work from developer! 2 thumbs up!!!!!! |
[2012-06-07] A Google User: Good scanner utility. Works good, worth trying, though I find another utility better for my needs. |
[2012-04-30] A Google User: Weak interface requires many more steps than nec UI is cumbersome and unintuitive. UI annoyingly forces you through a "create new project" path. Contrast with superior interface on Photo Editor, where you select a pic, make the alterations and conversions you want, then save as and save where you want. Droid Scan Lite is not worth the hassle when better interfaces let you hit the ground running instead of messing with creating projects and dealing with "save as business card" defaults. Look up KISS principle in UI design. Don't make users jump thru hoops. |
[2012-04-27] A Google User: Was Better (was 5 star) Excellent! Also excells at enhancing photos. Great tool. Older UI was much simpler.I am a sw developer but can't use this release. |
[2012-03-30] A Google User: Works well Does as advertised. Handy little app. Galaxy S2. |
[2012-03-27] A Google User: Works fine for me. All these people saying it's advertised to do more than it does can't read says right in the description you need the pro version. |
[2012-03-22] A Google User: I don't see the use... for this app, after messing around with it. |
[2012-03-16] A Google User: New version usability. The newest version from early 2012 has an almost unusable UI. I dont get why the radical changes. Also, put default size choice at the TOP. |
[2012-03-15] A Google User: Wanted to test OCR but It rqrd full purchase, uninstall in progress. Will keep searching for ideal OCR for Android but will just use OCR win or Linux programs til then |
[2012-03-12] A Google User: Rwc231 Force close every time you open the camera to scan. Pointless unless you can use it. Please fix! |
[2012-03-02] A Google User: Works Perfectly Free Version (Droid) Captures the image, processes it quickly and lets me send it on to Evernote. I do not understand the negative comments - it works exactly as advertised. Try it for yourself. |
[2012-02-26] A Google User: Useless Scanning from camera results in unusable low quality images and you can't review the image until you uploaded it. |
[2012-02-22] A Google User: Misleading This version claims to upload, create pdfs but these features require upgrade to paid version |
[2012-02-06] A Google User: Better Freewares out there Very limited features |
[2012-01-18] A Google User: Deleted my phone database. Now phone notes won't sync. Uninstalling. Would rate zero if possible. |
[2012-01-15] A Google User: Worked only once. Got only "No recent captures found" on successive attempts |
[2012-01-01] A Google User: Nothing PhotoShop can't do Or pretty much any image editing software out there. But for being portable, it's a great little app. The edge detection only really works on a contrasting background - a white sheet on a sandy wooden desk wasn't enough for it to get anything more than the size of my paper. If you really have a need for such on the fly scanning, though, this should do the job. |
[2011-12-31] A Google User: Takes pictures All this does is takes pictures, non of the promised features are available to test in this version. Waste of time - can't test before purchase. Uninstalling |
[2011-12-27] A Google User: Simplicity & Ease This is perfect for our service business. No expensive portable scanner that needs downloading. It "wows" the customer too.Gives us very nice digital copies of customer invoices that the technician just emails the office. So it saves on gas, time & paperwork. It takes better pictures of the document then if we just tried using the camera by itself.Tried using the CamScanner first and it had awful photos.Phones are T-Mobile MyTouch 4G Khaki Slides. It would be helpful though if we could label the individual photos |
[2011-12-22] A Google User: Droid scan lite Little confusing to use but works beautifully. |
[2011-12-10] A Google User: And? "scanned" a business card with the camera of my phone. Now what!?! Offered no options. I can simply take a pic of a card w/of this app! |
[2011-11-20] A Google User: Force closes Force closes |
[2011-11-17] A Google User: Works good |
[2011-11-16] A Google User: Stupid Take picture and wait until death. |
[2011-11-15] A Google User: Shuts down before I've finished, so no idea if it's any good. Uninstall. |
[2011-11-14] A Google User: ??? don't understand how it works ? It takes pic & then lets u crop it. After that nothing .... Don't know what to do afterwards ... |
[2011-11-12] A Google User: Fantastic Love it. |
[2011-11-11] A Google User: Stupid Wants upgrade for every feature. Uninstall |
[2011-11-01] A Google User: the best |
[2011-10-30] A Google User: Awesome and very fast. Reformatting documents provides simple and easy formatting for others to see your work. |
[2011-10-28] A Google User: Rate Ok |
[2011-10-22] A Google User: Best app ever use Perfect app. |
[2011-10-21] A Google User: Free version is useless Free version does not allow much more than what the stock camera does. |
[2011-10-20] A Google User: Very Useful Works great. I can scan a check and upload it to my online bank for deposit. |
[2011-10-06] A Google User: UI is terrible Only good thing is that it integrated with evernote |
[2011-09-28] A Google User: Very limited, bugs with Evernote This app does only one thing well - converting images to a very readable document. Where it is very week is in the sharing with other apps department. When you try to upload multiple images to Evernote you end up with a blank note. It does not upload to Google Docs etc. So, it is very hard to use this with actual functional applications. |
[2011-09-24] A Google User: Not so hot Tried both lite & pdf. Neither create readable letter size images. |
[2011-09-24] A Google User: Good scan, terrible user interface |
[2011-09-21] A Google User: Cyanogen 7, Android 2.3.4 Works excelent.. easy to use.. worth the money for the full version |
[2011-09-14] A Google User: This app blows Uninstalled pictures not clear at all. |
[2011-09-11] A Google User: good scan's picture |
[2011-09-04] A Google User: Very good app. Bought the paid version, and it was a disappointment. Free version let's you select which images to import, paid version does not. |
[2011-09-02] A Google User: Doesn't do what I wanted I wanted something that could scan a business card to my contacts. This just scans to JPEG or PDF as far as I could see. Uninstalling. |
[2011-08-16] A Google User: not enough features looking for receipt scanner. this is not it |
[2011-08-11] A Google User: works good on sgs2. |
[2011-07-19] A Google User: G8 app.i love it |
[2011-07-17] A Google User: Easy and works as promised |
[2011-07-12] A Google User: Nice work... I always use for scanning notes.. |
[2011-06-24] A Google User: Great app for scanning genealogical documents. The cropping feature is a bit difficult. Otherwise awesome. |
[2011-06-23] A Google User: New Android user, one of the most useful applications I've encountered. I use to quickly crop docs and receipts into Evernote, then pitch the paper! |
[2011-06-20] A Google User: One star only for the edge cropping feature. Didn't make the text from a page any clearer than what my stock camera can do. Uninstalling. |
[2011-06-14] A Google User: I like the geometry adjustment feature ... 5 stars ... |
[2011-06-13] A Google User: Without the pdf conversion function, I don't see the point to use this software. |
[2011-06-13] 阿薩布魯牛: Without the pdf conversion function, I don't see the point to use this software. |
