DIRECTV installer Great idea..... just isn't accurate enough. I have the Motorola ATRIX, and it consistently is off by about 10 degrees, even after calibrating the compass. Also the compass reading often reads a negative value of like 250 degrees when it is really pointed at about 130 degrees. Also hasn't had any updates for a long time. Satellite AR gives you the same stuff for free.

Getting better Works for the most part, just not in cases where you have a very tight Window. I would double check with your compass in those situations as it is often off by a few degrees (at least on my Motorola atrx, and I for have 2 of the atrix and they both react the same on this app). I would love to know what phones work the best with this app, but as I am planning on upgrading soon

Uh, get the labels to lay out horizontally according to device orientation, currently they stay vertical. Android OS ALLOWS NO SCREEN CAPS! Tnx 4 xplaining permz! Markt lic check done OFFline, network not needed. INCREASE LIC CHK TIMEOUT & allow 4 net wifi, google's new licensing? Does NOT require ANY checks more than one or two. Never had a requirement for 12 days or whatever, thats YOUR CHOICE, and a bad one.

Useless in the bush. First the good. A great tool for easily finding any satellite. Just pick the sat and line it up over your camera's view. Very slick. BUT if you don't have an internet connection you're screwed. It checks for a license every 5 days. Completely useless for setting up a satellite terminal in a remote location without internet.

Great but you need an internet conection I install VSAT in Afghanistan and this app is perfect for site assessments. But in order for the app to work you can't be away from an internet connection for more than a few days without getting an error message about needing to sync with Google before being able to use the app. Which means for remote sites you're pretty much not able to use this app until after you install the satellite and get the internet working. This needs fixed.

Great tool Does not point dish for you, its not for alignment. It's to give you a good proof of line of sight. It can assist with alignment if you are at least a hobbyist, but the bad reviews only come from those who are expecting it to do the whole job for you.

Not for my phone The 4 star feedback is for the amazing customer service. I am sorry that this totally cool app doses not work well with my phone. – Droid X on Verizon, Android version 2.3.4 I am forced to remove it. I will now try Satellite AR which is free. The lag time between the photo capture and the satellite information overlay make capturing a photo with the satellite information correctly overlaid onto the photo imposable unless you are using some type of tripod to hold the phone completely still while waiting for the two images to marry. I found this impossible to do holding the phone. In fact, I even hit the capture button while facing north and pointing the phone to the ground about 10 feet in front of me. The photo was captured and I quickly turned and pointed the phone towards the southern sky and the satellite information was captured and overlaid onto the northern downward facing photo. There were also force close problems and phone freeze issues which resulted in the phone seriously overheating in my pocket.

Confirmed my suspicions! I bought this app to confirm my suspicions about which tree was blocking my Directv dish from receiving a signal. After confirming my thoughts using DishPointer Pro, I took down the tree I believed to be the culprit. Got my signal back immediately. The only thing holding it back from 5 stars is a good instructional video showing you how to hold your phone and at what angle relative to the dish. It's kind of hit or miss otherwise for us non-professional installers. One very nice feature is being able to take a picture of the situation and email it. Would gladly add the 5th star if you actually show me how to line up the phone! Great job!

Not accurate This app gives you the general direction but is not accurate. It moves when the wind blows and when you do a job like mine and it says that the sats are here and you end up sighting in a dish into a tree. It just causes a lot of extra work. So if you're like me and accuracy is key. Get the proper tool.

Service is excellent. I had a problem not seeing the satellites and emailed support. I had a reply the next day saying the samsung android bug was fixed and to calibrate the touc screen normally. It works great and has saved me time and money!

Memory hungry - doer not move to or run from SD card Is this a ploy between the major developers and phone manufacturers to produce software that requires more phone memory and that cannot be run from or transferred to the SD memory storage? Really guys, some of us are happy with our older phones and producing software that requires a phone upgrade because there is not enough phone memory to run the application does not sit well, in fact it drives us away from using the software. Please produce a version that can be moved to SD memory.

Bust Works good on galaxy s with no problems so far... Galaxy tab app stopped working. Inclinometer is not 100% accurate when finding gaps but is fairly close. If you dont have a inclinometer then its.worth 20 bucks

Great Program I install both DirecTV and WildBlue Internet and this program is used almost everyday. The new Wildblue sat at 115 is very picky and needs complete clear line of site. This tells me if trees are in the way and gives me a photo to show the customer. Wish I would have had this years ago. Works perfect on Motorola Atrix.

Just can´t get it to work properly I must admit that the help service is good but I am not able to get it to work as it should even though I have had help from the service. everything they told me to try was useless all from the compass problem to some changing the program didn´t work for me, I want to be able to see the right ankle when I am planning to install a disk for my costumers, but in the end I always end up by using a disk to get the perfect proof if the costumer has the ability to receive a signal from satellite he wants to get. so the app is useless for me and really a waste of money. I hoped someone would find a way to help me solve my problem but it seems impossible, maybe it's my phone, a phone from t-mobile used in Iceland with Icelandic number. could that be the problem?

Unusable I couldn't understand anything with this app, it was impossible to work out how to point the dish with the app. In the end, I just used a compass, which worked perfectly. The UX is just terrible and the fact you need to calibrate it is daft. I was hoping for a simple app that even homer simpson could use. This wasn't it. Nice I was a little wary of this program from the start however wow. I am impressed. I had a some tree trimming to do here. I am all wooded in a mountain terrain. I really didn't want to cut down to many trees but my WIld Blue and Direct Tv were struggling and I figured it was tree time. I purchased this program. Spent about ten minutes figuring it out and went to each dish. This was just too easy. Took my pictures and got ready to cut the one and only offending tree. I waited until I could borrow a friends sight glass he used to install direct. I verified the satellites with it. Right on the money, in fact I tweaked both my dishes with this software and got a lot better signal. Thank you DP Tech. Good software, and very easy to use. You just need to know whose sat is whose.

So far has not helped me align my dish... I have spent the last 5 hours working on mounting & aligning my Dish Network. I have yet to get a signal which could be not getting my dish high enough over the tips of trees, but nonetheless, this app hasn't helped me in my alignment. I'm getting constant inaccurate pointing of satellites. The Echostar 61.5, 72, 77 are next to each other and the app is giving me varying ranges on about a 40 degree swath. So I can't tell exactly where they are with the constant different various satellite locations.
