If you use Getting Things Done (GTD) to manage your life, you need a ubiquitous capture tool to capture all those random thoughts crashing around in your brain. What could be more ubiquitous than your cell phone that you have with you all the time. Dead Simple Capture tool allows you to capture your thoughts using the Speech Recognition tool in Android and then email them to yourself. The difference between Dead Simple Capture Tool and other applications designed to capture notes, etc. is that it's Dead Simple. You don't have multiple buttons to press, you can't choose to send it to your Twitter account, or any of those other unnecessary "features" that are available in other applications. Dead Simple Capture Tool does one thing and only one thing. It captures your voice input and turns it into an email. You can send reminders to your inbox with two clicks. You click the Icon to launch the application and then you click the send button in your email compose window. That's it.
When you first run the application, you will be asked to enter your email address. After you click the save button, a speech recognition screen will launch and take down and transcribe your message. Then it will ask you if you want to use Gmail to compose the message. Select Gmail and click on the "Do this by Default" checkbox so that you won't see this dialog again. After you've run it for the first time, Dead Simple Capture Tool will save your email address so that in the future you do not have to input anything.
