Color Identifier uses the camera on your phone to speak the names of colors in real-time.

It's a new Augmented Reality app for discovering the names of the colors around you!

The color names are fun and specific: Paris Daisy, Lavender Rose, Moon Mist, and many more.

It can be a useful app for the blind and visually impaired, but I think it's fun for everyone.

It will also tell you the hex value of the color, so you can identify exactly what color the camera sees.

Color Identifier will appear as "Color ID" on your home screen.

Color names are from Chirag Mehta, who used Wikipedia, Crayola, and Color-Name Dictionaries like Resene.

Horrible Application The color identification skills of this application are sub par. I used it a few times to try to entertain myself but it was not up to standards, even in the best of lighting.

Compared, tested, & failed Tried this and color blend and tested both and this lost big time. CB was not perfect but I gave it 4 stars since I used 1 up for this! But really, the other one is a 4 start app for me...

Works quite well At times the names for the colors can be a bit strange, but most of the time it's okay. More importantly, it returns the appropriate hex value for the color, which is great.

Nice try Good idea, but actual color detection most times is obviously wrong, maybe needs some precalibration or camera flash. Also needs an ability to disable voice.

Easy to install and use but inaccurate I was less than impressed by this app's ability to accurately identify colors. It identified a definite burgundy as a number of different oranges, and finally "reddish brown" but identified my black keyboard AND my caucasian hand as purple. As I am quite alive and not cyanotic, you could say it missed by a bit!

It appears to do auto white balance which is screwing with the results. It helps to have a good light source and a white background if possible.

Good attempt at a useful tool. The colour balance is off though, not calibrating to the phones camera let's down the accuracy. RGB/CYMK values please?
