[2013-10-08] A Google User: Doesn't seem to handle workgroups well Title says it all |
[2013-10-08] A Google User: Great and Handy app Thanks |
[2013-09-30] A Google User: Great for small files Pictures, a small video, a few music tracks, etc. Transfers are slower than my wifi throughput should allow. They max out at about 1mbps. However its still faster than bluetooth, and easier than uploading to a cloud service (at least for files user 50mb). |
[2013-09-06] A Google User: Samsung note (AT&T) Love it . It just works |
[2013-08-26] A Google User: Excellent, connects to Win7 shares w/login/password I've used this to connect to our media PC on our home network. Didn't work w/guest login, but maybe i set that up wrong. But it works like a champ using username/password, & now i can watch stored MP4 and AVI files on my Android phone using the excellent BSPlayer. Sweet! |
[2013-08-22] A Google User: works great cant say anything bad, it works great. |
[2013-08-18] A Google User: Can't browse! What good is a smb client which can't browse the network? |
[2013-08-13] A Google User: LAN integration solver Bridges the interoperability gap tenfold with my home network. This app is an excellent tool to extend the usefulness of my android devices. Easy to use and runs beautifully. |
[2013-08-12] A Google User: No substitute for CIFSManager This will not allow you to directly open files(ie: video and audio) without first slowly downloading them in their entirety to local storage. That said, it will access a samba share without any trouble, and has a very good interface. It's good at that, but useless to me. |
[2013-08-03] A Google User: Does its job perfectly The UI is less than stellar thoygh, could use an update to bring it up to date to the current ICS/JB looks. |
[2013-07-29] A Google User: It does what it is supposed to. Good job. |
[2013-07-26] A Google User: Coool Great |
[2013-07-21] A Google User: Soooo slow This is so unusably slow in mounting and navigating directories.... |
[2013-07-11] A Google User: A good free app, but... ... It has password input issues. That's the one thing stopping me paying for the Pro version. That offers up the oppertunity to look at other similar apps. |
[2013-07-07] A Google User: Simple Simple but effective.. |
[2013-07-05] A Google User: Okay but All the And* apps' functions are handled by File Manager in a single application and without adverts or "Pro" versions. |
[2013-07-04] A Google User: Fast,stable. Good |
[2013-07-02] A Google User: Useful app |
[2013-06-26] A Google User: This is pretty awesome This app will help you to get data from file sharing |
[2013-06-26] A Google User: Execllent Samba to Windows client, however........ Pretty much does what it advertises on the tin. One little niggle is that you do not have the option to change the date format of file listings to dd/mm/yyyy You are stuck with mm/dd/yyyy...... which makes reading date stamps confusing - especially when both the day and month is twelve or less.. |
[2013-06-25] A Google User: Good Samba client Works just fine |
[2013-06-25] A Google User: Works great Enjoying it on the note2 works like a charm |
[2013-06-22] A Google User: Good stuff Clean, clear, useful. |
[2013-06-18] A Google User: Works on Galaxy tab 2 7.0 p3100. But... Works on Galaxy tab 2 7.0 p3100. But...built in SMB client in ES explorer is much better. This one has no copy from LAN to local option. No direct open of files. Above both are supported on ES explorer. |
[2013-06-17] A Google User: Doesn't work for me. Tried to connect to my smb server but I also get some partial java exception message at the bottom of the screen. What's with that? Any fixes coming? |
[2013-06-04] A Google User: Great app Easily connect and transfer files. Especially good if you do not want to mess with cables |
[2013-05-31] A Google User: Good. But I can use Root Explorer as a SMB manager. |
[2013-05-26] A Google User: Works where others fail Just wish it could stream media |
[2013-05-23] A Google User: Ver good |
[2013-05-21] A Google User: A Great App for an IT geek You can copy via wifi tethering (no router required, no root required) from pc to android and vice versa this just needs complete and clear instructions |
[2013-05-21] A Google User: No root or router? No problem Very good app for very good minds. No need for a cable transfer files |
[2013-05-21] A Google User: Great app but one small problem Love the app. It works great except for one small problem, it won't transfer files that have a file extension longer than three letters. It generates an IO exception. |
[2013-05-09] A Google User: AndSMB vs AndFTP Well, after numerous attempts to get AndSMB to connect from Android to Win7 thru Android VPN via 3G I gave up. VPN would connect over wireless and 3G using Win7 Incoming Connections setup, but, AndSMB would not connect thru the VPN. AndSMB would connect fine without VPN over wireless on the lan side of the router using Win7, but I was concerned over security. I also tried using EFShares and SharesFinder thru the VPN but to no avail. Finally I installed AndFTP on my Android device, and on Win7 installed Bitvise SSH Server 5.59. Now, once you open port 22 of the Bitvise server to the internet world your going to be probed. Sooooo. I went into Bitvise and setup the Client address rules to disallow Any IP address. This blocks any IP address from logging in. Next, I try to log in from my Android device while sitting at the server. When Android tries to login, the server will tell me what the IP address of my device is using over 3G when it attempts to login. I note the IP address and then add a new Client address rule into Bitvise using the IP address noted, click Allow connect in the Client address rules window, click OK, and off you go. Both AndSMB and AndFTP are excellent apps. |
[2013-05-01] A Google User: Works fine.. But.. Bad UI n limited feature list.. |
[2013-04-22] A Google User: Wow Wow |
[2013-04-20] A Google User: Highly dependable Good performance and no-nonsense UI. It's not clear to me though if transfers continue if I switch to a different app or if the phone screen turns off and locks. |
[2013-04-17] A Google User: Slow transfer speeds Slow transfer speeds and minor UI glitches hold this application back from being professional. |
[2013-04-13] A Google User: Very unstable. Very slow, unbearable. Installed it on my HTC Inspire 4g (yeah I know, old phone, old Android version...) to connect to my SMB shares on my home network. I am on wireless N, and have connections typically over 100mb/s. The file transfer to / from this program is in the KB/s range. It crashed 4 times in 5 minutes, and instead of directly opening a file for editing, it wants to cache the thing locally on my phone. A painful experience with a 250mb file... Use ES File Explorer instead. It does a great job. |
[2013-03-30] A Google User: Works!! I mount my Linux NAS with this bad boy and surf my shares. The transfer speeds max out on my note 2 @ 70kb which is ungodly slow for these days but it works. Transfer speed issue is not my server as I can hit 100mbps on my laptop over a 5ghz AP. |
[2013-03-16] A Google User: Doesn't work Just get es file explorer it has samba support built in works amazingly! |
[2013-03-11] A Google User: Excellent APP! This does exactly what it states and very well. I was able to use my galaxy S3 to connect to my windows 7 PC shares. However, the transfer seems to be a bit slower than when I use wireless file transfer, that being said being able to configure the default folders that you will transfer from and in to saves a good number of clicks. |
[2013-03-11] A Google User: Great |
[2013-03-10] A Google User: Works, kinda Have only managed to get read-access using this app, but full r/w with others. |
[2013-03-09] A Google User: Works, but... Performance is terrible compared to other apps on the market. |
[2013-03-07] A Google User: But really When trying to access other computers folder, won't let me input user name and password.. So access denied |
[2013-03-04] A Google User: Regular samba client This app good enough to access smb folder in your computer but there is no option to stream video |
[2013-02-28] A Google User: yes It works well with smbd on my Ubuntu.. GUI is good enough.. |
[2013-02-24] A Google User: appears to work... Gets java exception and fails. Good java programming involves catching and handling ALL exceptions. |
[2013-02-24] A Google User: Great. Works great but doesn't run well when in the background. |
[2013-02-22] A Google User: Stupid ads Stupid ads bouncing around on my face and using up battery power, data, and space on my small, handheld screen when I'm trying to get something done. I'm sick of every little app thinking it has to make a few piddly cents from ads (which I'm never going to tap on! I'm trying to DO something and I'm not about to stop that to look at some dumb ad!) by being a constant irritation to users and a waste of their resources. |
[2013-02-21] A Google User: Just what I needed. Does just what I wanted. Wish I had found it sooner. |
[2013-02-21] A Google User: Works perfectly Simplly works... can connect to samba network shares with any problems |
[2013-02-20] A Google User: Good Pretty simple but works just fine |
[2013-02-16] A Google User: Doesn't work with Win8 |
[2013-02-13] A Google User: Fantastic! Very simple and intuitive. It just works! |
[2013-02-13] A Google User: Fantastic App Does exactly what I want it to do, for FREE! Keep up the amazing work |
[2013-02-01] A Google User: Works great Works great for transferring files to/from my Windows 7 PC. Have been using it for a while on my Galaxy S Captivate and now on the Transformer. Never had a problem. |
[2013-01-31] A Google User: Wish this were a default feature in android Thanks for making this app, will update my review as i use this more... |
[2013-01-23] A Google User: Absolutely wonderful Was copying files up and down between my tablet and PC, and between my tablet and Linux box, within 5 minutes of installing this great app (I already had my PC and Linux box configured and cross-mounting one another). The user interface is very well thought out. |
[2013-01-23] A Google User: Hate it Cannot configure easily with ubuntu 11.10 with a dd-wrt router over 4g/3g. Works great over wifi tho but dont need it over wifi. Uninstalling...im also root |
[2013-01-21] A Google User: Great except for ads and chokes on big folders Great except for ads and chokes on big folders. ES File Explorer is way better at this, plus it's got an internal music player. |
[2013-01-16] A Google User: No monta carpetas remotas No monta carpetas, solo las descarga. |
[2013-01-04] A Google User: Works great Connects to my Linux server shares perfectly |
[2012-12-31] A Google User: Easy to use, great app. Great UI, easy to set up. |
[2012-12-27] A Google User: Not fancy, but does the job |
[2012-12-03] A Google User: Awesome I use this app every day and it is perfect. |
[2012-11-28] A Google User: Simple interface easy to use I use this to connect to my NAS and transfer files when I'm out and about. it works well, is easy to use and does what it says on the label. |
[2012-11-27] A Google User: Awesome My go to app for local network sharing. |
[2012-11-18] A Google User: Great little piece of software Brilliant little app. You need to know a little about how windows shares work but if you do they this is a great bit of software for transfering files onto and off your pc onto yourr android device. |
[2012-11-17] A Google User: Constantly Errors Out Solid Explorer 2 is much better at SMB, it just doesn't have the intent integration of this. I don't usually leave bad reviews but this app needs a major overhaul. |
[2012-11-16] A Google User: Ads Works well. Ads at the bottom; not shown in screenshots. |
[2012-11-16] A Google User: Excellent! Does everything it says it does with an easy to use interface. |
[2012-11-16] A Google User: Excellent |
[2012-11-14] A Google User: If this app... If this app was updated with the holo ics/jb look, I would purchase pro and rate 5 stars. Other than that, pretty good. |
[2012-11-10] A Google User: Beautiful App Loved it while I needed it...only uninstalled b/c I no longer need it. |
[2012-11-09] A Google User: connected once I got it to connect once with our domain share, I attempted to dl a file, got all kinds of java errors. Disconnected, and tried to re-connect, app would not connect again. Stuck at the trying to connect message. |
[2012-11-06] A Google User: First samba client that works! 5 stars 4 ability to open pics, txt files etc with other apps/inbuilt. The $7 version does this.make it $2 and ill buy. |
[2012-11-05] A Google User: Decent Good, but requires purchase for smb sync |
[2012-11-01] A Google User: Very handy Love this free little program! Thanks!!! |
[2012-11-01] A Google User: Too slow Looked for something faster than ES File Explorer (ca. 2 MB/s) for my cifs file transfer needs, but with this app I only get 1.3 MB/s. |
[2012-10-29] A Google User: King of fater |
[2012-10-26] A Google User: Smb works. More than I can say for astro. Add annoying, but not too bad |
[2012-10-25] A Google User: Seems to do the job quite well I am using it for reading files from a Windows 7 box and so far it has been working very well. |
[2012-10-24] A Google User: Works great Works great. Wish the sync function was in the free version. Copying large dirs greater then 1 gig will cause the copy session to fail eventually for some reason thus the reason the sync function would be nice to use. |
[2012-10-22] A Google User: Awesome Typed in my server name, connected and started copying files right away. I can't believe it was so simple. |
[2012-10-20] A Google User: Can't browse the network Useless |
[2012-10-20] A Google User: Great Fantastic, does what I want really well! |
[2012-10-14] A Google User: Incomplete files Leaves incomplete files even though it is unable to resume. Failed on the first file I even tried: Wifi had a temporary disconnect (why does Android do these at random?) And the program did not recover. On retry, started overwriting data instead of asking to merge. |
[2012-10-13] A Google User: Works for my purposes Attractive because it is fairly powerful and FREE. I do wish the sync was not a pay option, though. Had no trouble configuring things and browsing both device and remote folders. Copied a few files back and forth and created a folder through the app at the remote smb share. Every function that was available in the free version worked flawlessly for me. I am using it to connect to a Debian laptop. |
[2012-10-11] A Google User: very useful much better than astro file manager. this can also connect to my linux samba server and good performance even over vpn |
[2012-10-11] A Google User: Amazing Love this app, i have about 12tb in network drives and this app helps me to transfer files from and to them |
[2012-10-07] A Google User: Buggy Bugs on transfers at time |
[2012-10-04] A Google User: Works great. And really lightweight! |
[2012-10-02] A Google User: Mmmm Ok i cant upload to my smb. So i uninstall. Otherwiseruns smooth but its defeating my purpose |
[2012-10-01] A Google User: Doesn't work |
[2012-09-27] A Google User: Open android "intent" interface is extremely attractive for implementing other apps, although i havent found time to do so yet |
[2012-09-20] A Google User: Great app Recommended |
[2012-09-19] A Google User: Doesn't work Doesn't work for accessing share on Mac Lion. Don't know about Mountain Lion, but from what I've read trying to find a fix I would guess not. |
[2012-09-01] A Google User: Hmmmm This App is probably the best Samba client for Android. However, that is not saying much. I did pay for the full version to get the sync feature but I been trying to copy my movie library for a day now. For some reason, the syncing will just stop. This is ok once but multiple times is resulting in much wasted time. Here is the main issues with this Android devices and this APP: 1. Copying files via wifi on any android device is slow. (Not the apps fault) 2. This app continues to randomly fail to copy/sync files from SMB to my Nexus 7. 3. Pressing back while navigating to main screen will disconnect you when you get to the main screen of the app. 4. On Android, USB is the only efficient way to transfer large files =( |
[2012-09-01] A Google User: Good start... I would like other commands... like move from one remote folder to another.... |
