Photos may be taken from the Gallery or camera, and shared using Facebook, Twitter, eMail, or SMS (from the picture gallery, once it's saved). The app includes both automatic and manual controls.

For best results the developers recommend the use of good quality photos, taken in close-up, at a full-frontal angle.

It is also helpful if the subject's head is not tilted, and they should be smiling.

With these conditions met, the automatic facial recognition of the app locates the position and dimensions of the eyes, mouth, and chin. Using these as reference points, the app's image processing function widens the bridge of the nose, broadens the cheeks, and adds a double chin.

Users can create custom effects using the manual controls to outline the photo's reference points.

WHAT IS A POSE?

It is not possible to be entirely precise, for definitions vary, the meanings change with the times and a good deal of healthy controversy exists.

The dictionary says it is, first, a position of the body... an attitude. Its secondary meanings, however, have negative connotations of artificial appearance - placing or putting, mere affectation, pretense, rigid stance, etc.

The modernist winces and avoids its use, for photography has advanced with the speed of its lenses and films and left the word pose - as it maintains inflexibly its old meaning - draining life and vitality out of action.

Although, we too, must use the word - we ask you to accept it in its new and broadest sense. Pose (or Posing) today includes something more basic, a state of composure, balance ... poise before the camera.

A pose may be deliberately assumed with gestures and attitudes designedly adapted to mood or position... yet that does not preclude candidness.

The manner is which the body achieves a position before the camera (the action can be as candid or deliberate as you please) is posing in the modern sense, and the state in which it is recorded (in either poised consciousness or oblivion to the camera) is the pose.

This software was created to help you to configure the approximate value for the Light Value (LV), Exposure Value (EV), shutter speed, ISO and aperture.

In photography, exposure value (EV) denotes all combinations of a camera's shutter speed and relative aperture that give the same exposure.


How to use it
With your touch or keypad down/up, you move de ruler.
Establish the brightness (EV) of your subject, using either your hand-held light meter or the descriptions on the calculator. (Note that the descriptions are only a guideline - if you're working from them you may wish to bracket your exposures.)
Slide the sliding scale so that the ISO value of your film lines up with the appropriate EV value. Then you can read off aperture/shutter speed combinations from the lower pair of scales.
This version of the calculator is reversible.  Use the side with EVs 8-16 for bright conditions, and the 3-11 side for dim light.
