Bored with the usual pixel-perfect pictures? Missing the good old times with blocky, color limited displays, dithering and attribute clashes? Then look no further--you've found the real retro camera!
Nerdstalgia will allow you to see the world through the eyes of your favourite retro systems: Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, PCW, CGA (modes 0 and 1), EGA, Hercules and Gameboy... and everything is processed and displayed REALTIME! No more waiting for pictures to be "processed".
The pictures you take are saved to the "Nerdstalgia" folder in the SD Card. The application also includes a lightweight gallery to browse through the pictures without having to hook the phone to a computer.
IMPORTANT: Please be aware that this is an EXTREMELY resource intensive application. For the best performance and frame rate, make sure you're using a phone with a fast processor.
Supported phones: HTC Magic, HTC Evo, HTC Nexus One, Samsung Nexus S.
This application *might* or *might not* work in other phones. Unfortunately, I can't provide support for phones that I don't have physical access to.

[2012-12-23] A Google User: Nerdstalgia Just doesn't work with a Toshiba 10 w. JB update. Can't "initialize camera" & can't take pictures. Nice concept though. Uninstalled with regrets. |

[2012-03-30] A Google User: Doesn't work with ICS Galaxy Nexus No live viewfinder. Images only take up a small corner of the screen. Disappointing because it's an awesome premise! |

[2012-03-24] A Google User: Terrific App! This is a wonderful app. I love it! Feature requests: ability to apply filters to still photos I've already taken, video capture. EDIT: I've gone ahead and upped my review from four stars to five. And No, the app hasn't been updated yet but I feel it's worth it. I use this camera EVERY DAY. Frankly I think it's only fair to give something I use every day a five star rating. There are a few limitations but I'm used to them and the author is aware of them anyway. I look forward to future updates. I love this app. |
