DoF Calc (v. 0.9.8) Разработано JDS |
Calculates "Near Focus Limit", "Far Focus Limit", "Hyperfocal Distance" and "Depth of Field" based on selected camera, aperture, focal length and focus distance.
Wheels are used for selecting aperture, focal length, focus distance and unit of focus distance which makes testing of different settings very fast and simple.
The unit of the calculated results as well as the focus distance can individually can be selected to be m, cm, feet or inch and all last used settings are saved.
If you are missing a camera/sensor or have any other request, contact me and I will help you.

[2012-12-17] A Google User: Best I've found Intuitive, makes very good use of screen space, puts everything you need right at your fingertips. A keeper! |
[2012-11-23] A Google User: Very nice UI It's easy to use and setting parameters with provided scrollers is much faster than typing or using native controls. Select camera should include more camera models - eg. there is entry for D700 but nothing for D7000. Five stars after that's added. |
[2012-11-17] A Google User: DoF Calc Excellent neat app. Easy to use. Version I downloaded also has mounted teleconverter. However after selection seem unable to deselect to no setting. Any help please ? |
[2012-11-17] A Google User: Best DOF calculator for Android!!! YEAH!! In short... LOVE IT!!! Took me just minutes to realize the quick and easy usefulness of this app. I've tried quite a few of available DOF calculators for Android and this one exceeds them all. The scroll wheels are the perfect interface and I love those instant results. Having the 1/3 aperture increments is just right too. I had initially wondered about the Nikon DSLR selection for my D7000. Almost all Nikon DX format DSLR's have the same CoC of 0.020 which is exactly what is selected. No need for extra fussing around. As long as there's no issues with crop factor, this will serve my purposes perfectly. |

[2012-11-06] A Google User: David G Very nice, easy to use |
[2012-10-28] A Google User: Canon dipu Awesome.... |
[2012-10-24] A Google User: Simple and effective No BS tool, just like I like them |
[2012-10-19] A Google User: Quick and easy. No messing. I have tried nine of these apps (all free ones) and most require too much time spent putting the settings in. This presents everything in one easy screen and you just move the settings at the bottom and the readout changes. Just what you want when you need to work fast. At last. Someone who understands how photographers work. |
[2012-10-17] A Google User: Missing micro 4/3s cameras Please add micro four thirds sensor size. |
[2012-09-22] A Google User: Intuitive Not bad, one of the better UIs actually, but I have found the one with same nice scrollings and more views. |
[2012-09-19] A Google User: Requires permissions Is listed as requiring no permissions, but installs with access to read_phone_state and modify SD. Why? Removed. There are just as good apps that are more honest. |
[2012-09-16] A Google User: Great app Very usefull app. Like the way the scroll wheels give instant feed back instead of pressing a calculate button. More choices for aperature and focal length setting is nice. Only one recommendation...would be nice to have a few more distance values between 10 and 20, perhaps every 2. And every 5 between 20 and 50. Thanks...nice work. |
[2012-09-14] A Google User: The best Once I found this i deleted all other dof scales I had installed. Easy to use and simple diagram that gives you all the information you need. Major benefit is that it has every focal length for the lower range (up to about 70) and third of a stop increments for aperture. |
[2012-09-10] A Google User: support for tablet I installed, opened it, and it turned to portrait orientation. Not good, on my ASUS TF300T + Jelly Bean, dock attached. |
[2012-08-26] A Google User: Perfect Excellent app and simple to use! Any chance of an update to include 1 inch sensors like in the Nikon 1 and Sony RX100? |
[2012-08-09] A Google User: Great! Just needs four thirds sensor sizes! |
[2012-08-06] A Google User: Too many permissions It doesn't matter if it works very well when using read phone sfatus and identity permission. Security first -Uninstalling |
[2012-07-31] A Google User: Simple and clean I like that this dof calc has all focal lengths and not just mostly even numbers. Nice interface with the spinning inputs. |
[2012-07-11] A Google User: Perfect Best possible dof computer. Very simple and extremely intuitive interface. |
[2012-07-08] A Google User: Great app Can you add tilt shift lens calculatiins |
[2012-06-14] A Google User: Simple and effective Does one thing and does it well. |
[2012-05-27] A Google User: Good design Well designed app and quick response from functionality. |
[2012-05-18] A Google User: Very user friendly There are many DOF apps out there, but this has got to be the easiest to use and read. No huge, crammed tables full of figures taking up the whole screen, just an easy to read line that changes as you adjust the parameters. I also like that it lets you change from metric/imperial on the fly, as opposed to being locked into one measurement via settings. Well done, dev! |
[2012-04-29] A Google User: Simple & Efficient Great tool. Very simple ui and easy to use. No extras just what you need :-) |
[2012-04-15] A Google User: Get it! If your into photography I recommend you get this app. It's really simple to use and understand. I always use it to determine the hyperfocal distance of my landscape shots |
[2012-03-19] A Google User: Really helpful Just what I need to help work out the most ideal setting for any situation |
[2012-02-05] A Google User: Easy to use I wish you could make the counter bigger -- there's too much wasted space on my Galaxy Note. |
[2012-01-29] A Google User: Fantastic! Extremely easy and fast to use! Thank you! |
[2012-01-22] A Google User: Excellent App! This is really useful. Just one thing, does anyone know if I enter the focal length of the camera lens, or the 35mm equivalent? My G1 has a crop factor of 2, so if I have my 20mm lens fitted, do I enter 20mm, or the 35mm equivalent of 40mm? If it's the 35mm equivalent, what's the individual camera setting (dslr) for? |
[2012-01-18] A Google User: Nice UI I tried a few others too, but this app has the simplest UI of the lot. I'd like the scroll wheels to be bigger, but i guess it has to work on devices with a smaller screen too... |
[2012-01-18] A Google User: Great Only niggle is that I would prefer distances in feet and inches e.g 6'3" instead of 6.250 feet. |
[2012-01-07] A Google User: Best Tried a few and like this one best. Does the job, has a good ui, slim package and few permissions. Excellent work! |
[2012-01-06] A Google User: Scroll wheel is great. I like the scroll wheel better than punching in the number. |
[2012-01-02] A Google User: The best DoF calculator I've tried many apps, but I ended up with this one. Simple and quick interface. Well done. |
[2011-12-31] A Google User: Does what it should! Downloaded this app because it required no unnecessary permissions like my location, network access, etc... Simple, straightforward, easy to use. Thanks! |
[2011-12-13] A Google User: Easy to use |
[2011-10-10] A Google User: Awesome app Excellent app to help a photographer. Just think it would be nice to get more precise measurements. But is probably not necessary for far distances. |
[2011-10-01] A Google User: Update Please add info about Dof "In front of the subject" and "Behind subject" Excellent tool Tnx . |
[2011-09-24] A Google User: Real easy to use. |
[2011-09-11] A Google User: Almost perfect app... It would be nice to have the 'In front' and 'Behind' parameters calculated as well. |
[2011-08-21] A Google User: Only installed five minutes but already I love it. Very easy to use. Excellent scroll wheels for settings. Instantly gives results. Try this one first |
[2011-07-30] A Google User: A photographer's best friend! Cannot stress enough how helpful this app is! |
[2011-07-07] A Google User: Good little app I like the scroll wheels. One minor enhancement would be to explicitly list the cameras for which each CoC applies, rather than just say "Nikon SLR". |
[2011-06-28] A Google User: Nice job |
[2011-06-15] A Google User: Great app, works perfect!! Thanks a million!! |
[2011-06-15] A Google User: Finally a dof calc that looks and feels like it was designed for a touchscreen. |
[2011-05-25] A Google User: Nicely done. Thanks for including all logical formats including large-format film. |
[2011-05-17] A Google User: This is an application that a serious or amateur photographer must have. I love the ability of choosing the camera make and model |
[2011-05-17] A Google User: Best of its kind |
[2011-05-12] A Google User: Best interface |
[2011-05-06] A Google User: Nice app Useful and I like the scroll wheel. Other DoF apps didn't have as many f stops, so this was a plus. One negative - can't contact you without an email. ;) I'd like to see the Canon 60D added, please! (Would have given 5 stars had you had more cameras listed.) |
[2011-04-23] A Google User: It got permission to read phone state and identity after installation, otherwise it's very good to use. |
[2011-04-20] A Google User: Very usable interface. |
[2011-04-04] A Google User: Awesome app Great app for photographers. Will get a lot of use from it.. |

[2011-02-21] A Google User: There's lots of dof apps, this is the best. Superb UI and custom CoC make it brilliant. |

[2011-02-20] A Google User: Quickly provides a DOF readout in inches which is extremely usefull for bird photographers who need to know DOF to match depth of bird. BRILLIANT |

[2011-02-19] A Google User: Thanks for a great app and quick support... 2 improvements in 2 days. Thanks so much. And at your convenience, can the custom CoC VALUE be shown in the top bar instead of 'Custom CoC'. Now, how can we donate...? |
