Android 2.3/Gingerbread phones: Note that google made a change to the media player. It takes about 10 to 15 seconds to start the stream. Currently not fix for this.

Much better Seems like they're aren't any reviews since the last update. Latest update works great and looks even better. Definitely recommend giving this one a chance if you gave up on the old one.

Disappointing I used to have this app 3 months ago but uninstalled because it would always stop and/or freeze my phone. I tried again today, same result. Please fix this. I love this station, but i will uninstall yet again because tech has come too far for a major albeit nfp organization to have such a poorly running app.

Buggy I tried listening to election night coverage with this on my Moto Triumph and it was a garbled mess. I went to BEZ's website on my phone's browser (all of this over 3G) and that stream played perfectly. Basically, this app only works if you are sitting very still next to a wifi hotspot. Maybe they should get the guy who made their website to re-do this app.

Does not work on my new tablet It works OK (not great - it stops every 10 minutes or so) on my Android 2.2 phone, but does not work at all on my new Android 4.0 tablet. No sound, no nothing. Really, how difficult is it to create a reliable streaming app when the stream off the website work so well on a regular PC in a regular browser?

Big disappointment I can never get this app to shut down (Galaxy S3, Android ICS). When I force it, it reappears like "the thing that wouldn't leave," and it loads itself again. Unfortunately, this 20-year member will have to delete it & miss out in local coverage. Pity, because it wouldn't require a huge investment to fix it --you could probably even call the dean of computer science at U of I, Northwestern or IIT to recommend that a student team to fix it for class credit.

Disappointing I have the latest greatest phone, OS, and service provider. This app does not work smoothly, locks up, locks up other features of the phone, (Galaxy S III, Verizon, Android 4.0). Very disappointing, I depend on WBEZ daily to say the least. After fooling around long enough with this app you have missed too much programming and spent too much time from your schedule. Someone please mention a better radio streaming android app.

Worst Update So Far I had been waiting for them to update this app for the longest time and now that they have I'm just going to uninstall it. You can't load the news stories in the app anymore. You now see a list of partial headlines which then launch your browser when you click on them. Why did you do that?

HTC Hero USCC lags on launch Audio unresponsive for about a minute, then works fine. Slideshow just cycles between 4 pics, not sure yet if those update daily. Ok app.

I fought with this & the NPR app for months with same problem (10 sec streams max). Reset the Sprint proxy settings and now both work! Search the web.

Same experience as others: works for 15 seconds Works for only about 15 seconds (with lots of background noise) and then cuts out. Worked well (still with lots of background noise) about 5 months ago, but not anymore. Using Android 2.3
