[2011-11-26] Matthew: Galaxy nexus Poor on GN. Repeated crashes. |
[2011-11-22] Linda: Does not work on archos 101 Previous version worked fine. |
[2011-11-22] Leo: Great app, just a one niggle with images Recent update is so much faster to load up - even on 3G. I have noticed some image stability issues (sometimes graphics change from high-res to low-res for no apparent reason while stories are updating) Nonetheless I have escalated issue to their Development Team and apparently it's being worked on. (Samsung Nexus S) |
[2011-11-21] Andy: Worked on Galaxy tab 10.1 fine before update. Still works on HTC desire s but considering I'm paying a subscription It better be fixed ASAP |
[2011-11-21] Adam: Install upgrade to 2.1 at your peril! Used to work fine, now crashes on startup. Market allowed me to install update but now tells me its not compatible with my device (Archos 70). Useless |
[2011-11-20] Richard: No longer works and their help desk seem unable to recognise its their fault. Keep suggesting that I reinstall it etc. |
[2011-11-20] RITESH: Ritesh Patel The times is a good newspaper |
[2011-11-16] Anthony: Times Up? It used to be great when it worked, but since the last update the app fails to even open. Did they actually bother testing it? Very disappointing. |
[2011-11-16] James O'Rourke: No longer working This app was great but nowut crashes on startup, please sort it out asap! |
[2011-11-15] Ted's Dad: Broken Thanks for the update except it crashes when launched. Impressive testing! Spending too much time deleting e-mails? |
[2011-11-14] Niel: Original version was good. The new one crashes on start up. Please fix it!! |
[2011-11-13] James: Difficult Times - Rushed articles often unfit for publishing, wanted the print edition in an app. Disappointed. Many other apps much better at current news reporting. |
[2011-11-06] Timothy: spot on Cross between a paper and The Times Online superb app |
[2011-10-30] Stu: Great app Working great on my galaxy s |
[2011-10-19] Stephen: Nice app. Confused though as to why a data connection seems to be necessary to use? All cached articles cleared when loading new section :-( |
[2011-10-19] Clive: Class Simply amazing |
[2011-10-15] Ian: Buggy, keeps Unusable on samsung galaxy s |
[2011-10-12] gcaplan: Great app mad price No way I'm paying £120 a year for this - if it was equivalent to the Guardian £5 - then definitely worth it and 5 stars |
[2011-10-05] Gary: App OK, but not worth money. Times need to ditch Murdoch and join 20th century - its not 1850 anymore. |
[2011-10-04] ForbesMyester: Cannot get to ingear, which means no clarkson Tablet same as phone so lines are too long for easy reading. Having said that I am using it to read the news while free, will subscribe if enh made |
[2011-10-01] FatherD: Very good. Clear interface, fast feed updates. Top effort. |
[2011-09-30] Carolwool: Love it. Easy to navigate, updates regularly. Works brilliantly on SG S2 . Please, please don't charge. Would pay once for app but won't subscribe :-( |
[2011-09-19] Michael: Almost Perfect... only problems... like all newspapers and news channels... too much emphasis on sports news... and also, the subscription cost - when it comes into effect. Better charge for newspaper and leave app free. The app has the best interface of any news app I've installed, and I've installed practically all of them... it looks great and is easy to navigate. Well Pulse News is awesome too, but Pulse News is a news aggregator, so that's different and can't be compared. |
[2011-09-18] Laura: Wish you could just search by journo name - love Caitlin Moran & India Knight. Send comments to app - I got response within 1 day! |
[2011-09-18] Ben: In last couple of days crashes on startup... |
[2011-09-15] Graham: Good app but no crossword Smooth, good looking ,but lacks crosswords.will pay if crosswords are included otherwise free news available elsewhere. |
[2011-09-15] Wyn: A poor second Nice to see the android app, but a poor second to the ipad version, and also very inferior to the recently released Sunday Times Android Tablet app. The Times (and others) should reflect on the fact that the android platform is increasingly popular as a platform for both tablets and smartphones . Three stars given on the proviso it is the first draft (but it has been out for a quarter of a year now). |
[2011-09-14] David: Good first attempt, nice clean layout, though would be improved by overnight download option |
[2011-09-11] Chris: Lovely,clean UI.Fast on 3g.Just needs a share button. |
[2011-09-05] spartan: Spartan Highly user friendly |
[2011-09-05] Charles: The Times Best newspaper in print. |
[2011-09-02] piersk: Best look and feel of the paper apps. Shame you can't download all as it has limited use travelling. Happy to pay the subscription fee. |
[2011-09-02] Tom: Really nice user interface. A notification for 'big' news would be a nice addition. |
[2011-08-28] Paula: News not always up to date, but if you treat it like a paper and read once a day its okay. |
[2011-08-27] Joe: Lovely app. Shame you will have to subscribe soon, cost I will not pay.... |
[2011-08-21] Zwe: Love the app. Would like to filter contents by writer though. |
[2011-08-21] Mofoluso: Not good. Still showing saturdays paper on sunday. Nowhere to post comments. Seems all the effort went on the ipad version. |
[2011-08-16] JPh: So far very good. No puzzles? Would need that before I change from paper. |
[2011-08-15] db: Add the crosswords and I'm in Looks good, easy to navigate but for me the weekly & Sunday crosswords are a must-have. |
[2011-08-14] Tony: A start but poor substitute for print version Text is too small to read comfortably. FT has a much more readable size. No download of paper except for article being read. So no good for travel which would be the main reason for the digital version. Poor indexing and no Dr OZZY!! So-no chance of subscribing until above issues addressed. |
[2011-08-06] Andrew: Move to sd needed, and possibly over night updating so that its up to date on a morning. |
[2011-08-06] Simon: Good app but needs the crossword and other puzzles. |
[2011-07-22] mark: Very limited use with no offline storage function..can't read on Tube or Plane. FT app much better. |
[2011-07-21] Neil: Beautiful I don't read The Times but this app makes me seriously consider subscribing. Beautiful layout, quick and easy to navigate, thoroughly well done. |
[2011-07-21] andy_x: Download all over wifi essential. Otherwise it's a tarty cover with zero value add. |
[2011-07-19] Mike: Murdoch rubbish |
[2011-07-18] Richard: Works great on my phone, would like a search but maybe on a phone it wouldn't be that much use. Touch interface works very well compared to the web |
[2011-07-15] the 7/17/2011 Works great on Android and so easy to use.... a definite must have app. |
[2011-07-09] Chanka: Great app, so fast loading contents. Welldone. |
[2011-07-09] Ant: News of the world the Times have changed |
[2011-07-09] Mike: good and bad Works great on my android phone but still too buggy to work on my Xoom |
[2011-07-08] Viral: Rather nice app, looks brilliant and content is good but does take too long to download articles. Feedback for recommendations is good too. |
[2011-07-08] Steven...: 5 stars once you add the crosswords.... :-) |
[2011-07-07] Jonathan: NOT a good time to be giving money to a news organization now led by a woman who sanctioned snooping on murdered kids. |
[2011-07-06] David: Good start. "Download all" for offline reading essential. "Improvements" is not a changelog. What? How? |
[2011-07-06] nblaza: ... Um I don't get the wording "complimentary to digital subscribing paying 2 quid"? what does that mean? |
[2011-07-06] John: Where are the puzzles? Not bad actually for those of us with no access to the real thing. Look forward to updates to add finesse |
[2011-07-04] Philip: Made by people who fear the internet There's no search function and no way to share stories. It's basically a light-emitting newspaper, made by people who fear the internet. There's also no way to sort articles by writer, so you can't skip straight to Caitlin Moran, Giles Coren, or Matthew Parris. Oh, Robert Crampton; he's good too. |
[2011-07-03] Kevin: Good app but no option to post a story via email, twitter, facebook etc. |
[2011-07-03] Tim: Downloading stories is far too slow I have been waiting for this app for a long time, but it is very disappointing. Waiting for it to download content takes far too long; I lost the will to live waiting. So I used the excellent "Independent" app instead. This needs to be sorted out soon. |
[2011-07-02] David: Excellent i am already a subscriber to the hard copy version. Just got to locate an open wireless network near work. |
[2011-07-02] Pronoy: Excellent app. I'm already a subscriber and this is as easy to navigate as the website.g. I look forward to sunday times app and updates. |
[2011-07-01] ewan: As a subscriber, I'm very happy to see this on android. Looks good and easy to navigate . the only downside is the lack of Scottish content. |
[2011-07-01] Matt: As a digital subscriber pleased to have the app on android at last. Nice app but takes way too long to download content. |
[2011-06-30] derekg: As a subscriber I am really pleased with this APP. Real added value. |
[2011-06-30] Andrew: Great start. Simple, clear, easy. A nice way to browse and read the excellent writinig in The Times and The Sunday Times. As a subscriber, I've been waiting a long time for this. It's been worth the wait. |
[2011-06-30] Chinmay: SD card storage option please! |
[2011-06-30] Narelle: A great app This is a great app - very easy to navigate. Nice to see the great picture quality. |
[2011-06-30] Anthony: Disappointing on a Galaxy Tab I was hoping that this would take advantage of the Galaxy Tab's larger screen and render content like the iPad app but unfortunately, it doesn't. Hoping this might be addressed in a future build. |
[2011-06-30] skymera: From £2? Subscription after trial? jogon |
[2011-06-30] Annie: As a subscriber, worth the wait. Easy to navigate. |
[2011-06-30] Adam: Needs an option to download all content to view when offline. Would happily pay for this, like buying the newspaper :-) |
[2011-06-29] Richard: Excellent Nice layouts, looks just like The Times |
[2011-06-29] Adam: Would like comments and also ability to drill down further into sections eg.Football/Premiership |
[2011-06-29] Dave: Snappy. Clear. Intuitive. This is how it should be done. Top marks. |
