[2012-06-12] mat: Best app ever. My most used app. Works great, just like reader in web browser. |
[2012-06-12] daniel: :/ It needs an update quick |
[2012-06-12] Anonymous: Great App Amaazing reader, but there are some blogs that does not show their full content in the reader, I have to open them in the browser |
[2012-06-12] Jacob: Swiping between articles is a MAJOR annoyance The mechanics of swiping between articles still needs to be fixed! It has been over 7 months now since this first became an issue (Last update was November 2011). It should just feel like swiping between home screens. It would be great if you at least came back to where you left off in an article so you don't lose your place when you inevitably do accidentally swipe over to the next article. Also please fix the legacy menu button behavior, it's just sad that Google Reader hasn't been updated to reflect Google's own application design guidelines. As far as new features go it would be nice to be able to view full articles from within the app. |
[2012-06-12] DavidG: Not smooth enough on ICS My phone was just updated to ICS, but Google Reader was smoother on Gingerbread. When scrolling to the next story, it is white and the story suddenly pops in by the time I'm almost all the way scrolled over. It's not a pleasure to use. Wasn't like that on Gingerbread. |
[2012-06-12] Pulsart: HtcExplorer Great |
[2012-06-12] AJ: Love it - Its perfect for my needs! Galaxy Note |
[2012-06-12] John: Slow Well-designed, looks good on both phone and tablet, frustratingly slow content load times. Third-party 'gReader' app manages to perform way better. |
[2012-06-11] Mike: Good app, ok UI UI doesn't match Google's other holo-themed apps. Would appreciate an update. |
[2012-06-11] J.: Great app I like using the reader. My only problem is the page-to-page scrolling. If you scroll slightly to the left or right, you will loose your place on the page you were viewing. It also doesn't line the page up which cuts into the text. |
[2012-06-10] minniemissy: Works like it should Great place to keep all of my subscriptions in one place. while your browsing you just push the orange button in the address line and you can subscribe to a feed. So easy! |
[2012-06-10] Hari, Ade: Please add XHDPI icons ...for XHDPI devices. |
[2012-06-09] Helen: Good, except for video playback on tablet I have this installed both on my Nexus and my Asus Transformer prime. It works really well, except for embedded video on the tablet. Hopefully this will be fixed in updated versions. |
[2012-06-09] Justin: ISSUE REQ Newest look is nice. One thing that has been an issue for many versions is that when look at 'All items' list mode and you 'Mark previous read' and keep scrolling down, sometimes the app updates the list and all of a sudden skips down 20 or so articles (however much I marked read) and I have to close and re-open and scroll way back up, wish it would auto scroll up or not do that auto update thing. |
[2012-06-09] Tanner: Don't know what I'd do without it! |
[2012-06-09] Caro: Needs "mark all read" at folder level I would love to see better "mark all read" options at a higher level. For example, if I click and hold on a folder or feed, I would like an option to mark it all as read. I am using the version for my phone. The tablet version is slightly better for making things complete. |
[2012-06-09] Rafo: HTC EVO 4G LTE It won't let me sign in, keeps telling me my email is already in my phone, no sh** but it won't past that step. Uninstalled |
[2012-06-09] Davy: Reading I like how it opens up all books! |
[2012-06-09] Rich: Good app but.. Please update and remove legacy menu button. HTC one phones have big black bar |
[2012-06-09] Josh: Good for mobile Good for mobile viewing. I would like to see a count down of new posts when swiping through articles. |
[2012-06-08] Sam: Unstable with SGS2 & ICS 4.0.3 Google Reader is one of my most used apps - I collate all my many feeds from various sources and it is used frequently during the day. I recently migrated from 2.3.5 to ICS 4.0.3; however, the Google Reader app is now continually crashing, force closing and is unstable. Tried uninstall, re-installing and checking settings; however, to no avail. This needs to be fixed, otherwise I will look at other readers that are more mature and stable. |
[2012-06-08] Neil: I don't know when this app will error!?? There is time even best app will error!!! |
[2012-06-08] Pat: Good app Good app if a bit basic. Put option for button vs only swipe to change news item, and make option for black background and it will be best mobile RSS app for me... ;) |
[2012-06-08] bruzie: Useful, but... Quite often it would freeze and lock up my phone. Trying to kill the task cruises the phone to reboot. Come on, it's only an rss reader! |
[2012-06-08] Brian: Like crack! Use this app more than any other! Like crack! Use this app more than any other! |
[2012-06-07] Sherif: Very good. For some reason shows 3 dot menu on HTC One S and X. Would like a fix to get that part of my screen back. |
[2012-06-07] Calvin Kret: Khmer Unicode viewable needs! We need Khmer unicode viewable here! Pls help to make it happens for one last five stars Google! |
[2012-06-07] PashaK: Please fix it. Been months. Without mark previous as read its practically useless. Its either read all news or nothing. Please bring it back. |
[2012-06-07] Karl: ICS? When??! |
[2012-06-07] Richard: Best RSS reader on Android |
[2012-06-07] RustiX: Not bad but slightly buggy If I select the "Mark all as read" feature, it's not allowing me to mark a single item as "Keep as unread". However if I read a single item then I can mark it as unread. |
[2012-06-06] 賊鵲: need to be optimized list scrolling lag in 4.0 ICS.galaxy nexus and touchpad |
[2012-06-06] Javier Martell: Good I will like to see an option for a night mode, because I use it mostly at night time. |
[2012-06-06] Luis: Samsung Epic 4G Touch Works great |
[2012-06-06] Oscar: ok needs ability to download directly to fone otherwise more convenient to just use browser cus it opens it neways derp |
[2012-06-06] albee: Upgrade: No SD card, removes old sharing mechanism This app still cannot be put on SD card? Why? Latest version turns off the old sharing tool which I really loved. No reason to upgrade. |
[2012-06-06] gsysko: Loong wait, work remains to be done. Drag & drop doesn't work (Droid X.) There is less caching than the web app. Volume nav is great tho! |
[2012-06-05] Kevin: Needs a few tweaks... On ICS the menu bar still appears at bottom of screen like the app hasn't been optimized for ICS even though the menu button is included on top right...this is redundant and wastes screen space. Also, have the option to move the top menu bar to the bottom for easier one handed marking of all read & refreshing would be greatly welcomed... |
[2012-06-05] Julian: Needs improvement! I expect much more from Google. The swipe feature is too sensitive and there are no notifications! Will rate 5 stars once these two simple problems are fixed. |
[2012-06-05] Datsun: Permission request All of a sudden this app wants access to my account. Frig that. |
[2012-06-05] Kenneth: This is coll |
[2012-06-05] Heather: Memory sucker/phone corrupter I love google reader. I use it at work daily. I am currently on my 2nd version of my android, after the first corrupted from freezing constantly. The old phone had this app, but I never used it due to the freezing. I just reinstalled google reader on my new droid after 2 months of having it, and suddenly my new phone was slow, freezing, and terrible like my old one! I uninstalled this app and now my phone is fast & fine again. |
[2012-06-05] Jason: Crap Just plain old crap... |
[2012-06-04] Agent Milo: Swipe ruins everything The one Swipe feature ruins everything. You simply can't read a long article without losing your place and jumping around. And the articles keep autoupdating and again ruining your position. The highlight of this app is the stellar simplistic aesthetics but what good is it if you can't use it? The app is almost unusable. The mobile browser version of this app is a lot better. |
[2012-06-04] Adam: good but needs option to download feeds for offline viewing when on wifi only. (right now mine downloads of network connection too) |
[2012-06-04] relgames: Regression If you click on a post in the list and then go back, it's not marked as read. This issue is here since November 2011. I sent 2 bug reports already, where is your reaction? |
[2012-06-04] the 6/4/2012 : Decent This app does what it is supposed to but nothing more. I would like to see an option for full-length articles and also a black theme to conserve battery power and make it easier during to read during night. |
[2012-06-04] Carolyn: Great stuff Much improved since I got the ICS 4.0.4 update. |
[2012-06-03] Josh: Randomly marks all items as read. Not good. Twice in the last week, this app has marked all of my (many) unread items as read. It might've had something to do with a poor data connection at the time. However, it had nothing to do with me selecting a "mark all as read" option, since I didn't. This is utterly useless if you like to use Google Reader to track important things like financial news or job postings. It is also useless for unimportant things that you'd like to read at some point. Again: it is useless if you intend to use it to keep track of important news items. |
[2012-06-03] Eric: Force Quits! After awhile this app force quits, please fix this. |
[2012-06-03] Sky: Dont waste your time GReader is way better |
[2012-06-03] sminkal: Simple and functional It has not been updated in a while, but the app is good if you manage your RSS subscriptions online. |
[2012-06-03] Bee: Super nice |
[2012-06-03] Anthony: Simple and effective Screw flipboard |
[2012-06-02] dinkydarko: Still the best. Uncluttered and direct. What more could I need? |
[2012-06-02] Paulie: Good I'd like pic previews. |
[2012-06-01] Christopher P. Edmonds: Jumping updates are annoying I use this all the time on my tablet, but I can't rate it higher because of one HUGE annoyance: when a feed updates / when GR decides to cull out already-read items while I'm reading, the list of articles jumps abruptly, losing my place. Sounds like a minor thing, but it's just a real pain to have to scroll up and down to try to find it again, sometimes every few minutes for very active feeds. |
[2012-06-01] Ashish: Amazing All my RSS needs are taken care of perfectly |
[2012-06-01] Gergith: Needs a +1 button Needs a +1 button |
[2012-06-01] Rufus: Love the widget with the unread counter Very hard to read long article without accidently swiping to the right/ left. Sometimes the widget shows 1 instead of 0. If I go in the app there are no unread items. Sometimes the same with the web app. But not very frequentlr |
[2012-06-01] Ron1der: Gif files won't play After I upgraded to icecream sandwich, gif files have a hard time playing. This is very annoying. I have had to resort to using easyrss. PLEASE fix this. |
[2012-06-01] L!vely: the swipe action that moves from one post to the next needs to be tweaked. if I accidentally swipe but don't let go, I should be able to keep the post from switching by recentering it. |
[2012-06-01] cheryl: Better than bloglovin. I'm removing bloglovin and keeping this instead. |
[2012-06-01] Wayne: Give me the OPTION on how to navigate!!! Still refuse to update until Google provides me with the option to have the classic up/down arrows for navigation. Having to swipe back and forth would be a giant pain in the a$$. |
[2012-06-01] Playpig: Not compatible w Android 4.0? Ever since upgrading to Android 4.0 Google Reader keeps getting force closure problems and freezes the phone . in time for an upgrade it seems |
[2012-05-31] LilTortillaBoy: Simple Its a simple RSS feed. Would love for Google to give this app a UI makeover, maybe a more minimalistic look to it like ICS. |
[2012-05-31] Thomas: Better unread widget Please create a better looking unread count widget. Why not use the standard Reader icon with the unread number? |
[2012-05-31] Daniel: Reader This app works perfectly alongside the Chrome PC app. Use it almost every day and love how it syncs for offline viewing. Essential and has taken most of the need to use my browser. Would like to see integration with the Android browser in the future |
[2012-05-31] alanna214: Great but needs notifications I really like the simplicity of this app but I would love to get notifications so I don't have to manually refresh my feeds. |
[2012-05-31] Alex: No Starred List! Why can I add stars to articles, but I can't see a list of these via the app?! I feel like this wasn't a problem before, which adds to my fruststration. Oh... I see. I'm being pushed to friggin google+. So WACK! |
[2012-05-30] Ming: Useful Good for regular checking of site updates. Use less bandwidth and it will download content background so that I can read it when no internet access |
[2012-05-30] Manix: Night Mode Needed Coming from Google, the reader pretty much does it all. Desperately missing a night mode for the fifth star! |
[2012-05-30] Dwight: top notch Best RSS reader todate. Very responsive and easy to use. |
[2012-05-30] ekochket: New interface? Recently had to reset my phone, re-installed Reader, and now whenever I open an article, I'm unable to scroll; it opens, then refreshes zoomed into that specific article. Used to really like this app. |
[2012-05-30] Clint: Needs help.. Full articles without waiting to load websites please.......... |
[2012-05-30] Dave: Loading bug but otherwise good Works great although I would like ability to reduce font size, invert the colours and automatically mark read while scrolling. A bug though where the read feeds vanish from view and you have to scroll to top of page to regain position. |
[2012-05-29] Paris: The old reader was a better reader. Problems... Loads slowly. Keeps force closing. Does not always mark read articles. Some articles went away for no reason. Ugh. Bring match the older reader or fix this one. I wish I did not update. |
[2012-05-29] Patrick: Functional and works well. Easy to use but this app can really grow in size after some use. Move to SD would be appreciated or least reduce data portion by saving to SD card. Option to adjust text size of menu items would be good too. Unfortunately, Google has stop work on it. |
[2012-05-29] Bryan: Menu button On Epic 4G LTE (sprint): why does the menu bar show up at the bottom of the screen even though there's already a menu button at the top right of the app? Thought it should only do this if the app doesn't already have a menu button? |
[2012-05-29] Aaron: Broken Used to be great, recently when clicking on a article it'll just load a blank page. No matter how many times I try closing the app, restarting those phone or anything it just won't work. Unless it randomly chooses to work by itself. Please fix this Google. |
[2012-05-29] dchari08: Serious scrolling problem The app is up to google's famed standards of simplicity, and that makes it generally easy to use. But one big problem made me switch to gReader Pro. Swipe is oversensitive, and the reader will often swipe you forward before you're done reading an item. Then when I try to swipe back, it swipes right instead! I swipe left AGAIN and it keeps taking me to newer items. I end up having to switch to the list view and "view all" to see what I missed. VERY annoying and not up to google's standards at all. |
[2012-05-29] Jason: Works well Pretty good app that does what it is supposed to... |
[2012-05-28] 中秋: 不好用 so poor, 加载用了好大一会儿 |
[2012-05-28] Yak: Sharing problems I love this app and want to give it a higher score, but when I want to share articles on twitter, the whole html address appears in the twitter sharing box. And it does that without identifying the title of the article. I love twitter and I mad this happens when I use twitter and not facebook. Please fix this. |
[2012-05-27] Dashby: Name Change No other Google app has the word 'Google' in it. Change 'Google Reader' to 'Reader'. It changes between the two every second day as well! Plus, 'Google Reader' become 'Google Rea...' on my home screen anyway. |
[2012-05-27] yanal: Ics So many bugs on ics. Also need more features. |
[2012-05-26] robUx4: Page swiping is terrible now One finger page swiping is really tricky now. It makes using the app painful |
[2012-05-26] Drew: No Keep as Unread For old posts or when you use Mark All as Read. Accidentally did this today and lost 200+ items. F*ing infuriating. |
[2012-05-26] joey: Sux Left - right swipe ruin it |
[2012-05-26] Kevin: Great way to keep up to date A fast, responsive app that let's you keep up with oodles of blogs and anything with an RSS feed. |
[2012-05-26] MIKE: Best reader on Android If you use Google Reader for feeds this is must have.... I use it many times a day to stay current on many topics from local news to Android rumors. |
[2012-05-25] Glenn: Love Google apps but.... Reader scrolls choppy on nexus. |
[2012-05-25] Ben: Still no +1 function!? Still needs option to not mark as read. |
[2012-05-25] Ryan: Worse than before. Pumas just not as good as before. The integration with google plus is bad. It's slower and harder to read as well. |
[2012-05-25] HananaH: رائع بلا منازع |
[2012-05-24] TRun: Bland and featureless |
[2012-05-24] Dominic: Need an option to disable swipe! When I use my thumb to scroll down an article its not always steady so I end up doing a left/right swipe in the middle of reading. Please let us disable the swipe feature! |
[2012-05-24] B: Memory Hog This project is nice but not useful because it takes to much internal memory for downloading feeds. If they fix the memory to support the sd card it should be a great app. |
[2012-05-24] Mark Freeman: I can't seem to read when offline I cannot read my of my RSS feeds when I am offline. I am missing a switch or setting somewhere? Other than that it works well. |
[2011-03-04] tio rody: Achei um tanto confuso. |
