Exactly (v. 1.0.5) Разработано Exact Editions |
You can subscribe to dozens of magazines by checking out our website http://exacteditions.com, then read them from your phone or tablet through Exactly! We also have a tonne of sample issues ready to read on Exactly right now.
Exactly brings magazines and books to Android in their original full-colour format. Each page is delivered just as it appeared in the print edition, but with live links to web sites, phone numbers and more. Access free content from over 100 titles, or use your Exact Editions subscription to read the latest issues on the day they're published.
● Sync issues by tapping the sync button next to the issue name.
● Swipe pages left and right, or tap the page edges to flip to next/previous page.
● Pinch or double tap pages to zoom.
● Tap any page links to web sites, email addresses, phone numbers or maps.
● Tap contents-page links to jump to a particular article.
Here's a list of the permissions we request and why we request them:
'View network status' -> We only sync over wi-fi as the files are quite large and we don't want you getting charged for phone data.
'Full Internet access' -> We need to access the internet to download issues!
'Directly call phone numbers' -> When you tap a phone number in a magazine, the app will ask if you want to go ahead a call it.
'Modify/delete SD card contents' -> Your synced issues are saved on your SD card.
Hopefully that's useful!

[2012-09-25] Clive: Avoid if possible This is the must be the slowest app available for syncing magazines. I have two subscriptions and it takes a month to read each issue after waiting 10 - 15 minutes to turn a page. I will not be renewing my subscriptions unless they change their provider. |
[2012-09-14] Lawrence: 0 stars Unfortunately some of my favourite journals use this app. As a leg of their digital strategy it is suicide. All the reviews confirm my experience that it cannot sync a file. Over and above that it provides the perfect inconvinience of NOT functioning on the tube or in an aeroplane, as it cannot find the internet. Given these are the environments where you wish to read Exactly provides the journal and its subscribers exactly what they DO NOT WANT. It is a technical abomination, implemented with no respect. |

[2012-09-04] Mike: Moneywise Gave up with this app. 8mins to sync then over a minute to change page and last months mag! No thanks |
[2012-08-24] Joe: Issue fixed |
[2012-08-16] Jol: Embarrassing This application can only be described as abysmal (at best). I cannot imagine how any QA process could have allowed this to be released - and this is supposed to be the new 'fixed' version. (1) It is extremely slow, turning pages takes almost 2 seconds (and yes I've 'syncd' my issues). (2) Syncing issues for offline use can take hours (and it's not my internet connection, it's OK on iPad). (3) Editions never seem to sync completely but get stuck at 99%. (4) It's very difficult to see how much is synced (again unlike iPad). (5) Embedded links don't work most of the time, it's hit and miss. And when they do work often they take you to the wrong page. (6) Navigating around is very tedious due to the speed and the links problem. (7) And worse still, now I've upgraded to ICS it crashes frequently. I appreciate that unlike iPad there are a multitude of different devices this could be running on so more problems may be expected, but this app is simply very poorly designed, and poorly implemented. The latest update 16/08 is even worse, crashes constantly, doesn't work when not on wifi, 8-10 seconds to change page at times. Forget it, uninstall. |
[2012-08-13] Conn1231: Data option needed Needs to have an option to use Phone Network instead of WiFi, also needs a contents page internally in the issues |
[2012-08-05] ELLIOTT: Buy the paper magazine, app sucks This app is painful to use - even over wifi page loads take an age. There isn't even an overview page to let you view contents and skip to a section, or maybe there is and I'd just given up too early to go do something better with my time like pull my teeth out with rusty pliers. This app may be free but you've no doubt paid for a magazine subscription that uses this, if you haven't yet my advice would be get the paper version. If I could give minus stars this app would get minus 5, I can't imagine how they could make it worse. |
[2012-07-17] Mike: Very disappointing The app doesn't seem to want to sync my subscriptions, and the woeful speed of page rendering makes reading a laborious and deeply frustrating process. Very poor. |
[2012-07-15] Mónica: Agree with Sue If the update was meant to make the app better, it got worse. The pity is that I can't get my Tablet online subscription any other way. I can read it on my PC but it is impossible on my Galaxy Tab. I habe been reduced to connect to Exact with my browser on my tablet and read it on the browser when I am not near my PC! I can't believe it! I'm directly rating it Zero! |
[2012-07-01] Sergio: Slow to sync and FC all the time Sync takes forever. And occasionally refused to open at all, requiring a reinstall. Considering cancelling my subs this app sucks so much |
[2012-06-07] Sue: Latest update a disaster! It was never a particularly good app on either my Galaxy 2 phone or my tablet but latest update has knocked out all my previously synced issues & it has taken all day to sync 2 issues and is now stuck at the same % download level. I have 2 subscriptions & might just manage to sync them all before the year's subscription is out. Won't be buying any more , will stick to Zinio in future! Very poor show. |
[2012-06-05] Paul: Very poor I've never really got on with this app and now the latest update makes it unusable in landscape mode, making it useless on my phone (my tablet has the same problem but I can get by in portrait with the bigger screen). Unfortunately I need it for a particular magazine so I'm stuck with it. |
[2012-05-31] Andrew: Can't sign in! |
[2012-05-30] Arnold: Updates. The updates has rendered this app unusable, I ve got a subscription but I can t access it. This app is just useless. |
[2012-05-20] Ben: Problematic Despite being a good idea, the current 'exactly' app is fairly useless. There are almost no options available to customise your experience, and the sync function is terrible! |
[2012-05-07] Teresa: Not very good App needs HUGE improvements. Cannot easily access library and cannot access store at all so no hope of more purchases if you only have a tablet. Please fix it up. |
[2012-05-04] G: Why does this need PHONE ACCESS? Removed. Pathetic app permissions. |
[2012-03-21] Lowbeer: Doesn't sync! The sync doesn't work at all. That means you can read on the go. And it's quite slow. Get better exactly! You have good selection but need a better app. |
[2012-03-13] Shimon: Too slow The page rendering is unbearably slow and this is on a quad core tablet. |
[2012-03-06] Kamis: Please update! Need to be able to synch older issues like in the ios version, too slow to read otherwise. |
[2012-03-06] Lazarus: Almost Unusable Running on Android 403. Pages load in browser but take ages to enlarge and focus for reading. Never managed to read a page. Was going to subscribe to e version of British Archaeology. Decided not to bother after trying Exactly. Very disappointing. |
[2012-01-06] Giles: Useful but frustratingly slow to render pages - and, unless I am being dense - the only way to quit is to reboot phone! |
[2011-11-18] Tim: No frills app but does the job well. I've not had the download speed problems others have said but think you need to avoid the phone going to sleep. |
[2011-11-06] cqcq: Very very slow Couldnt believe at last.this is on android. But, its very very slow to load a page over wifi. Each page builds like the old 56k modem days. |
[2011-11-02] Chris: Took 15 hours to syncronise on broadband and was not usable till then. Turns out it has downloaded 4 years of magazines onto my phone. No warning. |
[2011-10-18] Tim: Completely Inadequate No download option, no proper contents option, no skip option, takes forever to load a page and constantly seeks a Wi-Fi connection. Barely usable. |
[2011-09-15] Indigo Chilled: Great app for magazines Smooth delivery of digital editions of magazines. |
[2011-09-15] Ryan: Long Awaited! It is so nice to see this app finally released on Android. Very slick, but still lacking some features. Would like to see notifications for new issues and auto download features. But can finally read my magazines from Exact Editions on Android! So great! |
