Storm Chaser Buddy
Alert Weather Warnings, Police and emergency scanners radio feeds from around the US,SPC outlooks mesoanaylsis, NWS, SPC Maps, journal/log notes database to keep up with your storm chasing.NWS animated radars, RSS news feeds from NWS, SPC, and HPC.NWS Airport Observations and NWS Marine Observations feeds. Weather related calculators,Hurricane HPC/NHC maps and RSS feeds from Hurricane Center. NWS State Warn/watch latest advisories widget for each state and Digital Clock Mesoscale discussions widget for your home screen.
*Location Based poi map- Load over 4500 map points to see airport and marine observations, radio feeds* and NWS radars around the country and get info quickly and listen to feeds by touching the icon points, has most aiport observations and NWS radars points.*Radio location POI's are incomplete at this time, you will have to use scanner list in menu until all are loaded(loading more weekly).
*NEW Emergency Alert Monitor-Based on device location,Set update intervals and start and stop anytime from ongoing notification. Will notify with weather alerts, also will play emergency tone if Tornado Warning.
*New-Beta TESTING user requested alert location warning widget with sound alert.

[2011-07-29] J: Good potential but not there yet. Need to be able to bookmark or favorite radar maps. Takes time to drill down to quickly check a common map. |

[2011-07-21] Kevin: Overall a Good App--SPC Maps not Updating I've had this app for a few months and overall it is very nice and useful in the field. However, the SPC D1 tornado, hail, and wind maps are always 12-24 hours old. The D2 and D3 maps seem to update fine, along with the D1 categorical map. I've tried clearing the cache and reinstalling/updating the program, but this does not help. Other than that one issue, I've have no other problems with this app. Would be rated five stars if not for this one bug. |

[2011-07-19] Cameron: Improved... With today's update....seems that previous issues on Xoom are resolved. I don't get EAS tone with alert widget anymore though :( Is there still supposed to be an audible alert? |
