iMap Weather provides:
-looping radar*
-lightning strikes
-current conditions
-forecasts
-Your location and other including international.
-Auto map scroll on your location.

* This application only provides radar for the US. All other content is available world wide

The app starts three services when in the background to clean up the various image caches on your SDCARD. The services sleep most of the time, but wake up every 15 minutes and remove images more than 15 minutes old. Once the cache is empty the services will stop for good.

Doppler radar is very helpful -- and FREE! Just installed the app while waiting out a pop up shower at the bookstore with my toddler. Radar showed it wasn't letting up soon and there was lightning nearby. I like this so much, I may buy the 4.99 version with voice alerts like I have on my iPad. Even without voice alerts, this is great!!!! BTW, read some comments after install. If you want a current update -- for me at least -- just set up to push your settings. I also set it to detect lightning. Pretty simple to set up if you take a few minutes...

Fast and accurate! Of all weather apps I've tried, this one is simpliest and has most accurate radar. We have a lot of spot showers in the summer time, and this app always shows them well defined in size intensity and location. Try it and u won't be disappointed.

Disappointed As others have noted, this is nothing like the iPhone version. This is a hobbled together mess in comparison. Everything I liked about the iPhone version is missing. The interface isn't even close, forget polished. You can't even tell they came from the same developer.

Offers lightning Unlike the other wx apps, this one offers lightning as WDT owns their own lightning network, but this app is very slow for me. I rarely use it.

Major problems If you touch the radar screen at all the loop STOPS and you have to go through a multi step process to start the loop again. Very big pain. You can not zoom, move or even touch the screen! A deal killer!

Not as good as... I have the IOS version and it is much better. Voice alerts from NOAA are what brought it to my attention in the first place. Get a new android phone an looked for it. Found it, but its stripped of what I wanted it for. Oh well. Such is life.

Missing location I had successfully added a location but it latter reported unable to fetch location. There is no way to remove a location that is missing. You can only remove those displayed. I had to reinstall the application to get rid of the annoying cannot fetch message. Great otherwise!!

Notifications for severe weather would get 5 stars Excellent app, great maps with enough data for mobile use. I really wish it had a background service to launch notifications with a customizable ringtone for local tornadoes, severe hail, flooding... Good battery management and bandwidth utilization. No made-in-India coding here.

Love these developers I picked up Ios IMap weather radio last year during the severe weather- so handy while hiking and working! Four stars for this only because app seems a bit buggy. Doesn't seem to get Warnings Grabbed this because a friend had the iOS version and she received an audio alert about approaching weather. We are currently under a tornado watch and the App reports there are no warnings for this location. Aside from that it seems just okay. The Weather Channel app has way more features.

Really bad program writing Most of the time it won't get your location fix and when you zoom up close on a location, it forces close. This causes the screen to lock up and requires a hard start to get back up and running again. Uses old satellite pictures outside the U.S.. Same clouds over area that I want to see how the weather is there. Has to be a better program to get a weather report from. Uninstalling.

Radar loop issues When the radar is being looped, the "Automatically loop radar every 5 minutes" option doesn't work and the radar needs to be manually refreshed.
