* BeyondPod provides full control over what is being downloaded over your data connection. Update a single feed, feeds in a given category, or all feeds. Download a single podcast, the latest podcasts, or all podcasts for a given feed. Nothing happens without your knowledge. Podcast downloads can be scheduled to occur at a specific time, only when connected to WiFi, or only when the phone is charging. BeyondPod also offers an option to automatically (1) Turn WiFi on, (2) Update your feeds, (3) Turn WiFi back off.
* BeyondPod's integrated podcast player support variable playback speed and tracks what podcasts you have listened to. There is also a configurable TiVo style "commercial skip" that lets you easily skip over content that you are not interested in.
* BeyondPod's Smart Playlist automatically generates playlists based on your listening preferences. (For example: First play the 2 newest podcasts of feed A, Then play the oldest podcast of Feed B. etc.). If you follow multiple podcasts Smart Playlist is an excellent way to always listen to what you want.
* BeyondPod's Home Screen Widget gives you one-button access to your podcasts, SmartPlay, and SmartPlay updates directly from your phone's Home screen.
* Integration with Feedly allows you to easily import your Feedly subscriptions. BeyondPod will also synchronize the "Read" and "Starred" status of individual posts so you can read the same feed on both PC or Phone.

[2013-08-03] A Google User: Best podcast app! All my podcasts download direct to phone. Now with speed adjust! So good. These guys are dedicated to users. Thank you! |
[2013-08-02] A Google User: Very nice app Was the best until the last update, now I am looking for a replacement. Used to be that after a podcast had finished, I could open the app from the widget. Not anymore. Now ya have to open the app from the icon itself, which kind of (for me) rendered the widget useless. Hope they undo this before I find a replacement I like, otherwise, farewell. |
[2013-08-02] A Google User: Bra men hänger telefonen ibland. |
[2013-08-02] A Google User: THE best I have used this app daily for 2 years and I can't praise it highly enough. The new updates have made it better than ever |
[2013-08-02] A Google User: Just superb. A great podcast client. |
[2013-08-02] A Google User: Wtf What a joke. Not sure if this is for every phone or just Samsung s4 bit the screen stays on during the entire listening session (bye bye battery) and if you turn the screen off or change screen to check email text etc... the stream stops. Stitcher, this is NOT! |
[2013-08-02] A Google User: Love it! Alex Jones infowars & Joe Rogan Experience! |
[2013-08-02] A Google User: Fail update In general a good app, but it's not updating the podcast I follow |
[2013-08-02] A Google User: great simple, easy to use UI. it works the way you think it should, with swiping in between menus ect. better than podkicker. easy to rewind too, which us a plus for me, since I have to take my headphones out to answer questions at work. |
[2013-08-01] A Google User: Missing basics Stops when turn the screen off, missing settings menu. |
[2013-08-01] A Google User: App crash when play downlaod Crash when listening to download podcasts |
[2013-08-01] A Google User: Wonderful This is a great app easy to use. |
[2013-08-01] A Google User: Far from perfect. The back button UI is inconsistent and frustrating. The support forum won't let me register and they don't reply to my emails. |
[2013-08-01] A Google User: Please fix Uninstalled |
[2013-08-01] A Google User: This app is amazing! This is by far the most organized and functional podcast app I have come across. It's very intuitive and doesn't lag, the design is beautiful and modern, and it allows you to split your podcasts into categories. I've been using this app for about two months now and just thought I should drop a review because I have been extremely satisfied with it. |
[2013-08-01] A Google User: Cool, but.... Anyone else unable to fast forward anything? Have to start podcasts all the way from the beginning.. bummer.. |
[2013-07-31] A Google User: Best, really enjoying it. Worth the money for the pro |
[2013-07-31] A Google User: Great and simple! Have been using this app for quite some time now and I am very happy with it. |
[2013-07-31] A Google User: Feed download problem |
[2013-07-31] A Google User: Best App! Love to listen to podcasts while driving, morning walks & excersice. |
[2013-07-31] A Google User: Freezing after updating to jelly bean I recently upgraded my phone from 2.3.5 to 4.1.2 on my Samsung galaxy s2. Since the upgrade the app has been freezing randomly when reading feeds and the only to fix it's to force close the app in the application manager. When upgrading I did a factory reset on the phone and installed the app and key from the market and then imported my settings. So does anyone you have any advice as to why this is happening? |
[2013-07-31] A Google User: Easy |
[2013-07-31] A Google User: Latest update is a winner I've used this app for many years. When I first got it, it was good, although it had a few nuisance features that made it harder to use than necessary. Then they did an update, and it was terrible, with lots of random annoying behavior. I tolerated it because I couldn't find anything with so many good features that I use regularly. I am happy to report that the latest update, in summer of 2013, is the one I've been waiting for. It fixed the problems introduced in the last major update, and now works perfectly and predictably. It allows scheduled downloads, it plays video perfectly, and has so many options to configure it that if it doesn't do something you want, it is likely you are being unreasonable. (But send them a note, they may consider your request anyway!) I've tried lots and lots of podcast managers, and this one is by far the best -- especially now that they've got the weirdness ironed out of it. |
[2013-07-30] A Google User: Works well but... The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because you can't take phone calls while listening to podcasts, at least not on my Droid Bionic running Ice Cream Sandwich. Phone rings, but you can't exit the app to take a call. Also, there's a learning curve to using the app. It's tricky at times. |
[2013-07-30] A Google User: Can't keep track of itself. I decided to give this a try as I work to wean myself off of my Ipod. Overall, I've found this to be a very frustrating program. I had to completely disable streaming, as it prefers to stream and won't let me just choose to download an episode. The program constantly just stops playing for no apparent reason. Even when there are no other incoming notifications. When I go back to start the playback again, it can't remember where it was. Often it will start up several minutes prior to where it stopped. |
[2013-07-30] A Google User: Feedly and Google integration problematic I love this tool, purchased it happily, and have been using it for some time! The new Feedly integration is forcing me to log into my google account by typing my google password into a webview controlled by beyondpod. Not OK! The Feedly app does Google accounts right. Update. Found a workaround to keep using the app, there's an option to disable feedly. |
[2013-07-30] A Google User: Even better with variable speeds now. |
[2013-07-30] A Google User: Great I love it. |
[2013-07-30] A Google User: The Only Podcast App I Tolerate I think the podcast app selection on Google Play (idk about iOS) is terrible and this one, by far, is the best of a mediocre range of apps. Very solid design and responsiveness. Intuitive (which is my chief complaint with others) and still highly functional. Solid app. Would fap again |
[2013-07-29] A Google User: Quite nice but pauses a lot for no reason Maybe its just me but when I get a text or put my screen on sleep what I'm listening to stops and that's just not okay. Though I do enjoy the app besides that and would be very happy to continue using it if those issues where fixed. |
[2013-07-29] A Google User: Awesome AWESOME |
[2013-07-29] A Google User: Great app ugly UI... This app does exactly what it's meant to do but the GUI absolutely horrid and basic looking which lets it down. Come on devs give this a facelift. |
[2013-07-29] A Google User: Best podcast app for Android Don't waste your money one anything else |
[2013-07-29] A Google User: Great app |
[2013-07-29] A Google User: Fantastic! I have been using iTunes and an iPod Touch for podcasts since the first generation. This is better and easier. Player and downloader are in one app (unlike iTunes) and the user interface is slick and fairly intuitive. Couldn't ask for more. 07.29.13 Updates have made a great podcast application better and better. I have absolutely no complaints. |
[2013-07-28] A Google User: Fantastic Simple to use and with great features. Thanks. |
[2013-07-28] A Google User: Fantastic Very very happy with this app. Updates are always well thought out and functional. Glad I bought the full version. Keep up the good work. |
[2013-07-28] A Google User: Features packed Good features. The complete podcast player. I use it a lot. |
[2013-07-28] A Google User: Great Excellent app, with options to cater for everything I could ever want from a podcast manager. Only negative for me is that touching the new (4x1) widget no longer opens the app if the playlist is empty. It would be 5 stars from me if touching any button on the widget, when the playlist is empty, would open the app (they do nothing else in this case). |
[2013-07-28] A Google User: Update renders app useless After an update today, anything I do with the app causes a "stopped working" error. I submitted a few crash reports. Once the developer fixes the problem, I'll remove this paragraph and select 4 stars. This is my most used app, even though I on gave itfour stars. I am a heavy podcast user and use this app to listen to audio and video podcasts. It can also be used as a Google Reader replacement (RSS reader). It reliably restarts podcasts where I left off, and reliably auto-downloads new episodes. I've been using this software for many years, way back to Windows 6.5! I've tried others, and this is the best. It's a fantastic app, try it! -1 start just because: I don't need an auto-playlist function; I just want to tap on an episode in the list for that category, and automatically play that podcast and all that follow (based on my sort order) When I have been watching a video podcast using my Bluetooth headset, and stopped it by pressing my home button, when I turn off my headset the video starts playing again in the background (which is not ideal in the middle of the night with a wife and kids asleep). |
[2013-07-28] A Google User: Could be better... Constantly have to re-download podcasts. Reads fine while connected to wifi but when i'm ready to listen at work I have to dl again. No wifi at work so I'm screwed w/ nothing to listen to. |
[2013-07-28] A Google User: Playlist gets buggy at times |
[2013-07-28] A Google User: Great but confusing to use I love this player and works great when I can figure out how to use it... I'm 24, not an old granny and I find it confusing to work around it at times.... It needs to be more intuitive |
[2013-07-28] A Google User: Who Needs Google Reader I previously used this only for podcasts, but with the death of Google Reader and Feedly's inability to import opml, I gave BeyondPod a try for my web reading as well. Words cannot express how pleased I am with the reader function. Keep it up! |
[2013-07-27] A Google User: Great app, better service I use this app a lot, but had an issue with accidentally tapping an episode and clearing my playlist. I emailed the dev and in less than an hour I got a response including no less than three solutions. A+, 5 stars, and 1000 Internets to this dev. |
[2013-07-27] A Google User: Awesome update The latest update amazing for the new layout alone. Smart playlists and native playback speed is icing on the cake. This has been my podcast manager for 2 years now. Never had a single issue. Worth every penny |
[2013-07-27] A Google User: is there something wrong with pod sharing ? update: i downloaded some audio then checked pod share, none of audio could be found by 3rd party player, even i rebooted several times. all audio that were downloaded after I checked pod share could be found well. |
[2013-07-27] A Google User: Brilliant podcast manager BeyondPod Podcast manager makes it really easy to manage my podcasts. The features are brilliant and now they've add variable speed playback this is a bonus. I really like the customisability I have with it and being able to set a schedule to check and download podcasts means I can download over wifi and have them ready to listen to at my leisure. |
[2013-07-27] A Google User: Lost a star with the new version 3.1.36 Updating my review again since a primary feature is not working in this new version like it used to in the old version. The new version has broken the Podcast skip feature where it does not 'skip forward' or 'skip backward' when playing a video podcast via bluetooth controls. The app now just goes to the next episode or the previous episode no matter how the headset button actions are setup in settings. The Good: I use this phone version vice their Tablet version on all my tablets since it has more features and especially Tasker integration, and I really, really like the ability to sync what has been played and the episode's play position between all my android devices using this app! |
[2013-07-27] A Google User: Bad trial Can not download episodes reliably from within feeds screen after trial expires, it tells me I have to be in the feed (which I am) to download episodes. |
[2013-07-27] A Google User: The complete deal When leaving the Blackberry ecosystem 4 years ago, Google's Listen was the only tolerable pod catcher I found. When Google killed it off I looked again for a better solution. After many trials I decided on beyondpod because of the smart list. It's a very configurable mechanism to have your feeds automatically ordered for playback. Since then two great features variable speed playback and device sync were added. Only criticism is with a feature rich app comes complexity. Small price to for a great app. |
[2013-07-27] A Google User: Nice, but... I like it; bought it; hate it's complexity. It works well, but there are some things that are just dumb. For example, reconfiguring it to use an extern SD for its sprang l storage is ridiculously troublesome. I don't recall seeing another app that requires manually moving files. Someone needs to put forth a bit of effort and simplify this thing. |
[2013-07-27] A Google User: better than stitcher radio I use to have the stitcher radio app, but then discovered beyondpod. BP's interface was slightly confusing at first but I quickly adjusted to it. BP has MUCH better audio quality than stitcher, more versatility with creating playlists, and subscribing to specific shows. Overall BP waaay better than stitcher! |
[2013-07-27] A Google User: Great but huge flaw Great little app, clear UI, just what you need for podcasts. Fantastic! |
[2013-07-27] A Google User: Horrible, keeps loosing my playlists I have the free version, maybe that's why its so bad. I can create a playlist easily enough by simply adding podcasts to the list. But if I try to play a podcast that is not on the play list, then my playlist completely disappears! Then I have to remake the playlist, which is a pain. And sometimes I play a podcast that is not on my playlist accidentally, which as I said wipes out the play list. Bad bad bad. |
[2013-07-26] A Google User: After 7day trail it stop working |
[2013-07-26] A Google User: Love the app and new update is great I reckon the only thing it needs is the headers shaded in a different color in the all feeds section and user ability to be able to collapse the sections you don't want to see at that point, apart from that it's really great |
[2013-07-26] A Google User: Crashy, complicated, naggy Force closes frequently. The interface is a confusing, jumbled mess. Why add more features when a podcast app is unable to easily and simply download podcasts? Further, despite the claim of a "lite" version, after a week EVERY function now gives a "trial expired" nag. Maybe I'd think of buying your deceptively marketed app.. If it worked! Boo. |
[2013-07-26] A Google User: Too Complex This may be the app for you if you want everything 'just so' and don't mind spending a week or two getting to know the app and its seemingly never-ending options. I think what I wanted was more along the lines of a typical user - an app I could easily pick up and use intuitively. I found Pocket Casts to have a MUCH simpler, more intuitive interface while having all of the options I need and costing less to boot. BeyondPod seemed like it could use a total GUI overhaul. |
[2013-07-26] A Google User: Love the 3 update No more need for presto has meant a much more stable playback experience and I can play at up to 3x speed (yes I'm one of those people) highly recommend, would pay for again. |
[2013-07-25] A Google User: Looking Good Loving the redesign. This app is so solid and functional it's ridiculous. |
[2013-07-25] A Google User: Use it daily Highly customizable and functional. Great support. |
[2013-07-25] A Google User: Best podcast app PERIOD after my trial expired I had to purchase this software it is too easy all the other apps have issues with streaming and downloading multiple episodes this one seems to do everything perfect! SMART PLAY IS A MUST HAVE GREAT FEATURE ! |
[2013-07-25] A Google User: Mostly good Works well when I can figure out how to use it. Tends to crash when using other apps while it's playing. |
[2013-07-25] A Google User: Pretty awesome Good UI, easy to download or stream, and it updates feeds perfectly every time. Would be 5 stars...if the widget had a counter so i know where I'm at during playback. Still pretty awesome though. |
[2013-07-25] A Google User: Good app,UI needs some tweaks |
[2013-07-25] A Google User: Updated widget not useful It's a great app and the redesign has made it look better. The inbuilt speed change works perfectly too. However, the legacy widget is much better in functionality. The feature I used most, long-press to access a menu, is missing now. To update the feeds or start Smart Play is not possible with the new widget. I have to open the app to do these tasks. Also, I don't see the point in resizing the widget. None of the elements change and it only wastes space larger than 4x1. |
[2013-07-25] A Google User: Excellent Simply put, this app is excellent. However, it does randomly resume pod casts I have listened to but not what I was listening to which can be a bit frustrating. Anyone know how to fix that? |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Letdown Was working well then decided to take a dump. Uninstalled! |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Fantastic app Loving the new update. Very sharp looking. |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Love this app:) Great app! |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Great podcast app! |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: New Holo Update Needs Work New episodes are now difficult to easily tell apart. I'll change the rating once there is an option to revert to the original design or if the new design makes the visual distinction of new episodes easier to tell apart from old ones. |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: =( Please move speed button to somewhere else. I often mistake and jump to end instead of speed change |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Excellent |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Smart app Smart app with good functionality, a pleasure to use ;-) |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Love it! Loving the app and the new look is nice... More holo would be better |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Looks nice But for some reason this update makes it so my feeds only work in the foreground. I can not listen to my feeds without it being in screen. |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: This is the most complete podcast app This is the most complete podcast app, IMHO. Now that it got build-in speed control features, it just attained perfection. Great interface, great usability, beautiful and functional. Usually, the perfect is the enemy of good, but the BeyondPod Team proved it wrong. |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Beautiful app that just keeps getting better Latest update with HOLO look is beautiful. Very easy to use, manages many feeds and organizes them well. And new variable speed beta works great! |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Love new design Gotta say, this new look is really nice. Had this app as one of the first purchases Ive made, and id buy it again if you asked (please dont :D ) |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: My go to for podcasts |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Great app allows u to pause even if you are at the lock screen. Pause automatically when getting and call and resume after |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Brilliant Great UI |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Poor It is now harder to navigate, use and download. Uninstalled and looking for something else |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: All you need Used it for years can't fault any of it. |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Great update /added features! |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Great App! Love the functionality and new UI updates too. - developer is continuously updating and I love this! |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Streams/downloads, but But should resume if interrupted, and does not currently. |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Back button I wish the hardware back button on my S3 would actually take me back to the previous page and not kick me out of the app |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Best podcast player by far. |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: My fav app I love this app, used it for ages (at least 2 years!) and use it every single day for my podcasting fix. Best app I have ever had. |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Liked it until... Latest update and now Samsung S3 vibrates constantly during playback...time to find a new podcast app |
[2013-07-23] A Google User: I like the new layout Cleaner interface in newest update. Well done! |
[2013-07-23] A Google User: New smart playlist is great. BeyondPod was doing the job nicely, and then they added even more nice little features. Having new downloads added automatically to the smart playlist allows me to always have something to play in the car without having to touch the phone much. Update 2013-07-23: The speed up option works great. 1.5x is the best for me, though that button is a bit close to the progress bar, so I accidentally jump to the ends and skip podcasts occasionally. |
[2013-07-23] A Google User: Best best best! |
[2013-07-23] A Google User: One of the best Great podcast app and player. |
[2013-07-23] A Google User: Broken Broken since Google reader died |
[2013-07-23] A Google User: Nice app This works well but the interface is cumbersome |
[2013-07-23] A Google User: Great selection Glad this carries my fantasy football podcasts |
