Spirit FM Radio is a real tuned FM radio app that supports RDS data (when unlocked). It is NOT a streaming app.

Until Jan 1, 2012 I will be concentrating on family time and paid customers. Buy Spirit FM Unlocked if you need support.  Satisfaction is absolutely guaranteed or I will refund you in full, so don't worry about the 15 minute return race. :)

Thanks for the supportive comments from most of you ! Open sourcing this app is being strongly considered as one prong of attack for supporting many more phones.

At present, app does not work on most phones. That's life. Read on or read my XDA thread for tech explanations. Why get angry at me for providing a free app ? I don't work for Google, your carrier or phone manufacturer.

How many other "Real FM" apps are on the Market ? Two: 1 for Galaxy S only and one repackaged Motorola app.

Why ? Because it's extremely difficult for 3rd parties. Google does not support FM. This app uses painstakingly reverse-engineered methods.

Spirit works on some stock phones, but usually requires SuperUser/root access. Work is underway to support as many devices as possible.

Some phones will never work and nobody can make them work because the hardware is disabled. This includes Atrix, Nexus S, US Galaxy S2s, Galaxy Tab, Droid (1)/Milestone, P999 G2x, Galaxy Spica.

Simple Metronome (v. 10.0)

This application is a simple metronome.  It's simple but has a very stable tempo, unlike
some of the other free metronome applications.  And unlike nearly all free applications this
metronome has NO ADS so your kids won't be solicited by dating sites whilst practicing
their instrument.

The only required permission is to read the phone state.  This is so the metronome can shut itself off when a phone call comes in.

Musicians often carry large folders of song words and chord charts to gigs for reference.  It can be difficult to find the correct song quickly and also can be very time consuming to keep a song folder ordered and up to date.

Lyric Pad has been designed to replace the Lyric Folders of musicians (and drummers - sorry couldn't resist a drummer joke) and has many options so the user can customize the system to their specific purpose.

This application has been written by a working musician for working musicians and has been designed to be a solid, responsive and small application that can be efficiently used when you are onstage.


Getting Started

Create some lyric txt files and save them to a path on your android device.  Load up Lyric Pad and in preferences set the path where you have placed the files.

The Free and Full Versions

Lyric Pad FREE is a demonstration version of the full Lyric Pad application but it does not have any time restriction or adds.  Its only limitation is that it will list only 5 songs within the song list and does not include set list support.  This will allow users to give it a good trial prior to purchasing the full version.


How it Works

Lyric Pad searches for all files in your set lyrics folder with a .txt extension and automatically creates an alphabetical list of song names from the file names.

To get started simply add some txt files (lyric files) into a path on your device and set the path in the Lyric Pad preferences.

If your lyric file includes script events (refer to the inbuilt help info) then the displayed lyrics on the screen will automatically scroll at your scripted times.

If your lyric file does not include scripted events it can still automatically scroll to the bottom after a set period by using the Non-Script Automation in Lyric Pad which is great for most songs.

Additionally you can include a static "side view" column on the screen which is great for keeping chord or other information about a song on the screen while the lyrics scroll.
