Features:
-can cover a frequency range from 10Hz to 20kHz (actual range dependent on your audio hardware),
-exact tone generation, no messy approximation,
-*new* toggle for logarithmic slider,
-multiple wave types! Choose from sine, square, sawtooth and triangle,
-setting the frequency down to a single Hertz (and not 10 Hz, like in some other applications),
-connect external speakers to your device for even better sound and frequency range!
-Easy way to contact the developer: just press the "Report Bug/Suggest Feature" button and type away!
-option to keep the app running indefinitely,
-adapted for accessibility applications - easier to use for the vision-impaired.
Note: you can set the volume simply by using the buttons on your phone.

[2012-07-14] Paul: My ears. MY EARS!!!! Works perfectly. |
[2012-07-10] Juan: Cool app Used it to experimentally determine the speed of sound in my physics lab today. We got less than 1% error. |
[2012-07-08] Joep: Fine app Does what it should do. 5 stars if start frequency in log scale is adjustable. |
[2012-06-22] Jeffry: Annoyed me simple and straight forward, but the fact that it went back to mac volume every time was enough for me to uninstall and use another app. |
[2012-06-04] pkr8ch: Very nice! This frequency generator works well, and seems to be bug free, only thing that would make it better is the ability to generate multiple frequencies simultaneously. |
[2012-04-13] delie106: No Good interface but i don't trust the high and low frequency of it. |
[2012-03-23] Reginald: Used to test Subs This app is great I tuned my kicker L7 to where it sounds crisp at 20hz! It's easy to use and has everything you need to tune speakers. Keep up the great work |
[2012-02-16] glo: good one |
[2012-01-30] Adam: Worked perfectly! This app did everything it said it would! This helped me determine how low of a frequency my new headphones could play. |
[2012-01-06] Cody Wilson: Simple and Sweet: Does what it says and does it well. The developer also listens to feedback. I am suprised at how often this app has come in handy. |
[2011-09-10] the 10/15/2011 Needs better tone slider Dude seriously. Change the seekbar for frequency selection to a log scale. It only takes one or two lines of code in your onseekbarchanged listener. |
[2011-09-04] Dave: So so application. Needs a logarithmic scale for slider to be useful. |
[2011-08-18] brian: True sound indeed. Listen to 50 htz sine and saw. Good stuff. BF. |
[2011-08-12] Alex: Works great Simple. Lets you test specific freqs, what more could you ask for? Great for calibrating pass filters on speakers |
[2011-08-02] TTST: Good. |
[2011-07-30] Joseph: TrueTone - - An outstanding application An outstanding application! Having tested the output, generated by a Samsung Infuse 4G (AT&T network), using a very high end scope (Nicolet model 440) and also an Agilent meter (model 34410A), the frequency accuracy was outstanding from 1 Hz to 21 KHz and the wave shape of the Sine wave was much better than i had expected. At a setting of 1 Hz, the meter showed a frequency of 1.0021 Hz. At 21 KHz, the meter showed 21.000 KHz; outstanding accuracy over the entire range. My congrats to the developer. |
[2011-07-24] Shane: Amazing! Hits it all! Test your hearing or test your subwoofers. 5 stars. |
[2011-07-17] Bryan: Ok. But it clicks each time I adjust the frequency. Deal breaker. |
[2011-07-16] Zane: Great! Use it to tune my car audio system since it produces true sine waves. Extremely accurate. |
[2011-07-03] paolino: Needs to be able to below 10 and to fine tune. Nice free app. Perhaps offer paid version with addition features |
[2011-05-28] Eric: Works ok |
[2011-05-05] Jákup Lutzen: 5 stars if you add the option to fine tune the frequencies, eg. 591.7 Hz |
[2011-04-02] Nick: Please allow us to select a freq range (20-1000, etc) also, please shrink the range fader, my screen is inaccurate at the edges. Very useful! |
[2011-03-26] Jákup Lutzen: Great app. I study the viola, and I use this for practicing intonation. 5 stars if you add the option to fine tune the frequencies, eg. 591.7 Hz |
[2011-03-25] Leonard: Best I seen yet. Not that it is the best out there but the best out of several that I have! Going to delete all others I have cause this out controls |
[2011-03-03] Thomas: Best free signal generator. Easy to adjust what ever frequency you want. Great! |
[2011-03-02] kandarp: Love it. Simply awesome. Nexus one. |
[2011-02-10] Adam: Nice app. Good for annoying people at college |
[2011-02-10] adam: Nice app. Good for annoying people at college |
[2011-02-09] Quatermass: Excellent. My HTC Desire HD goes over 10,000Hz. Suggest adding personal preset values and adding DTMF tones? |
