Attention: version 3.0 is available in the beta version on the market. It contains a new download manager and favorite searches/generes. Please help me test it.  This version will be update to 3.0 once enough people have tested it successfully.

This is the supporter version of Droidian eMusic. It is identical in every way to the free version (neither version has ads) except that it costs $1.99 and by purchasing it, it shows that you appreciate and support the developer and independent Android open-source projects. This an unofficial open-source app. The developer is not officially associated with eMusic in any way.

Browse, search & purchase music/audiobooks from eMusic.com to your Android device. Both complete albums and single tracks can be downloaded. Listen to audio samples when available. All albums and audiobooks are available DRM free as ordinary mp3 files from the eMusic.com store. eMusic is known for great indie music selection and knowledgeable subscribers and has the largest unencrypted audiobook store on the web.

Downloaded music and audiobooks are automatically added to the Android music player library.

Explanation of Permissions Required:

NETWORK COMMUNICATION
FULL INTERNET ACCESS

This one is pretty obvious - We need internet access to browse the eMusic catalog and to download tracks.

STORAGE
MODIFY/DELETE USB STORAGE CONTENTS MODIFY/DELETE SD CARD CONTENTS

We need access to the USB (SD-card) storage in order to store downloaded tracks, to buffer samples during playback and to cache album art.

SYSTEM TOOLS
PREVENT DEVICE FROM SLEEPING

We need this permission to prevent the device from sleeping during the middle of an album download (users expect the download to continue in the background).  We immediately remove this restriction on the device as soon as a download is finished. Please let me know if you have evidence the app is using too much battery.

Beautiful music instrument inspired by the Theremin and the Continuum.  When you touch the screen (including multitouch!), a waveform is generated.  It's X-Axis is pitch, which is designated by note and octave markings.   It's Y-Axis is either volume or filter.  Plasma Sound is incredibly configurable! Pick the note range, the waveform, cutoff, delay and more!  You can even select between continuous mode and normal keyboard mode!

On top of all that is a beautiful visual based off of MSAFluid, the same one found in PlasmaFluid (See related applications).  The sound is generated by libpd.

Note: This application works best with larger screens.  I designed it on the Evo 4g and the Adam Tablet. That means this device has NOT been tested on devices with more than 2 finger-multitouch.

TouchDAW is a full-featured DAW control and general purpose MIDI control app. It allows you to tweak a large set of parameters in popular digital audio applications as accessible through standard hardware control surfaces.
Version 1.15 has dedicated support for Cubase / Nuendo, Live, Logic, Pro Tools, Sonar, FL Studio, REAPER, Reason, Studio One and Samplitude workstations. Standard functionality like mixer and transport operation will be accessible in other applications as well. As of version 1.1 the app can also send MIDI Machine Control (MMC) in parallel with or alternatively to standard DAW control.

Besides control surface emulation, the app brings a number of general purpose MIDI controllers, such as a multitouch MIDI keyboard, multitouch launchpads, a MIDI mixer, configureable xy-controller pads and the possibility to link a phone's sensors to MIDI controllers.

TouchDAW works with RTP or multicast MIDI over WIFI and is directly compatible with Apple's Network MIDI implementation in Mac OS X, native RTP MIDI implementations for Windows and ipMIDI. There is no computer side server or protocol conversion software required.
Version 1.2 adds support for MIDI over Bluetooth and tethered USB connections.

This is the feature-limited free version. Differences compared to paid version:

DAW controller:
- recording, automation, saving, marker setting disabled
- no plugin, instrument and routing editors
- no channel flipping on mixer

MIDI controllers:

- no floating transport controls
- no sensors
- limited octave range on keyboard
- only one standing note on launchpads
- no MIDI mixer
- no MMC
